Shishizaru

Something about the artist Shishizaru's work really catches my eye- and looking over the various cards that feature his art, I've noticed- no one does big, fantastic looking spell effect art quite like him.

Check out Dovescape, or Razia's Purification, or even Quash. They have a lot of abstract qualities to them, which I like. I'm not a huge fantasy art fan, but I would actually pay to have prints of Dovescape and Razia's Purification on my wall. The use of color and light in the works is so vibrant, and yet it also has a sort of quiet quality to it.

Wrath of God looks like a big, noisy affair, but Razia's Purification is like a big apocalyptic sunset, sort of wistful and beautiful and yet at the same time full of foreboding.

By the way, does anyone other than Alacar actually read this anymore?
