This card is gross.
RG Aggro, Naya Aggro, Naya Pod...these are all great decks. Already. Without M13. With M13, these are getting a huge wake up call.
Unfortunately...Naya Pod can't utilize the best Green card in the set. The deck is still great, but Rancor is too good for me not to try. So i decided to take my favourite 2 card combo and play this monster of a spell...
And i must say, I'm kinda proud of myself.
First thing i did was start off with Juza's Naya deck. The deck was good...but it was missing...something
This deck was fine, but i wasn't sure if it was better than RG. Blade Splicer was a great addition to the core, but it was still..meh.
So M13 spoilers started to roll in...and this beauty was spoiled: Ajani, Caller of the Pride
Ok. Ill admit. I had dirty thoughts about this card
First thing that popped in my head was Bloodbraid Elf. Cascading into this had to be insane right?
Well...it is...but i didn't want to play Naya in Modern.
Wait..Naya? I play Naya in Standard! But he doesn't fit into Pod...
Enter Juza's Deck.
Once i saw Rancor i knew i was in love. So first thing i did was take Juza's deck and put in all the cards i wanted to play into it:
I wasn't sure if this deck could support 4 Gavony, so i cut one for a Forest. This could be very wrong so only do so if u think I'm right.
I also knew that although Geist Honored Monk was good, Rancor and Ajani HAD to make Wolfir Silverheart even better than it was. Imagine. Turn 5 this, turn 6 hit u for 20? Ya...
and then i found out about Thragtusk and Thundermaw Hellkite...
So i know 2 5 drops are going there. Im just not sure about which ones...
So anyway, by my count thats 6 cards...so i needed to do some trimming.
Well with More spells i found Thalia to be a nuisance...so thats 2 slots gone as i put in the 4th Geist.
I then cut 1 Huntmaster, 1 Ranger, 1 5 drop and 1 Bonfire to slim the curve a bit with the loss of 6 2-drops.
And here is the list at this moment:
Its fast, consistent and powerful. whether its the optimal list or not is for u to decide.
Yes you. I need your help.
See i don't have these cards yet. I've been testing as much as i can but I'm only 1 guy. So I'm making this deck known
If u test this and like it, comment here, PM me or comment in the new thread i made. I think this deck is the real deal and if u can help me prove that...it'd be awesome
Anyway thats all from me...for now. Ill hopefully post a new blog with my thoughts of the new cards from M13 and what i think is good (PS: Guilded Lotus is way better than u think)

The haste on Strangleroot Geist is the only good part about it, but what does it do anyways? 2 damage before your opponent throws down a Blade Splicer and stops it dead in its tracks? Doesn't seem very useful. Why not just play the Visionary and dig through your deck? The visionary will do just as much damage with the Rancor on it as well. Plus, Geist isn't always playable; in Naya, the Visionary will always be playable.
Other than that, I am running 4 Huntmasters, and 2 Sword of FaF. I dropped the Borderland Rangers to make room, but I might change that because I do like getting more land out for those games where a miracled bonfire for 6+ would be nice.
The deck is strong, and very powerful against a lot of matchups. I do fine against delver. However, with the recent surge of MBC, Esper, and other artifact control, I think this deck is going to be a little stifled until M12 and Scars rotate out. Those decks just have way too many ways to deal with our deck. Hopefully we also get some nice creatures in RtR
I'm not giving up on this deck even though I did shoddily at the IQ. Just means I'm going to playtest more and maybe modify a bit here and there.
-1 thundermaw dragon
+2 thragtusk
-4 rancor
+2 swords of war and peace
+1 bonfire of the damned
when we were play-testing DXI, i noticed part of your weakness is to flying with prot white and red so i tried to address that by running the thragtusk while it cant block the flyer it can offset the dmg with its life gain and in conjunction with Resto angel the life gain and beast tokens can get out of control fast
The the whole idea behind the changes is to prevent 2-1's, rancor's can get you 2 for'd easy especially against burn or vapor snag
thragtusk makes your opp not want to snag it and its just outside burn range , the thundermaw dragon i'm not a fan of in testing its good but its not great the haste makes it good but its doesn't really do enough. In the delver match snag eats it alive. Just my 2 cents from testing
