first lady of magic

Why is it every one of my friends are calling me 'the first lady of magic'? I'm not even that freaking good at the game. I still forget to pay for pacts, i tend to over extend, and i just counter the wrong things at time. I think it might have something to do with my opinions on the game since i used to play yugioh. i dont know. like for example; yugimon had two very broken things about it that magic has toned down a lot. One of them being the many cards that can throw things ontop of decks. if you want an example of how annoying...imagine a 0 cost blue instant that said 'as an additional cost to play it, discard a card' to put any permanent ontop of its owners library. that in yugioh was extremely over powered and i was the first person i knew to exploit that and the trend picked up on yugioh sites until it resulted in sweeping regionals and eventually getting banned. ( Im refering to the phoenix wing+Raiza lock to any of my yugioh educated friends here on mtgsalvation) ALthough wingblast wasnt banned, raiza was limited. and that was just funny.

Secondly; speed. in the last few sets of magic they've toned their speed dramatically as opposed to vintage magic. yugioh has never done that. Theres a card in yugioh called "dark armed dragon' now, any of you who played yugioh in the last six months know this dude. in magic standards he's a 5/5 that says "If you have three black creatures in your graveyard (has to be three, no more, no less) you may play dark armed dragon without paying its converted mana cost" and an effect that says "remove a black creature from your graveyard: Destroy target permanent" ...yeah. he wrecked that game and scared me away for good. What made him so annoying was that yugioh had a card called "Dimension Fusion" in magic standards its basically "Sorcery: Pay 5 life. Return all removed from play creatures to play under their owners control." Magics never done such a thing as far as I know (except for pull from eternity?)

To sum it up: i'm not that great at magic, i just know whats broken and whats not broken when i see it. This has partly to do with my boyfriend being an amazing teacher.

The best way to figure out if a magic card is broken is to figure out if the card nets you card or field advantage and doesn't have some ridiculous converted mana cost. that's really all there is to it. if you want a game that's not balanced, chaotic, and scares sixteen year old girls from their shops; play yugioh. if you want balance; play magic. and i did and now im here. hi ;]<333
