Okay, back on MTGS. Wanted to share that if you haven't seen it yet, Vivid Strike delivers. Specially that episode 4... Asside from that Izetta the last Witch is also a really good anime if you want to watch.
Anyone else watching Utawarerumono : False Faces? I find it good so far and you need no prior knowledge of the precedent season to actually enjoy it. Asside from that, Comet Lucifer is good, has this Eureka Seven vibe in it. Lance n' Mask makes for a happy go lucky anime, nothing really interesting in it except the protagonist might be a lolicon (not really sure there, since it's a wierd one this season). As for shorts, Tantei Team KZ is actually good. It's the kind of shorts you watch for a change of pace between two diffeent animes. Also saw the first episode of Heavy Object and already, they seem to spoil how it will all end, even if the anime seems good. One Punch Man is hilarious due to the sheer randomness of the story (thus why yu have to watch a short just to clean your head of One Punch Man). Then, there's Young Black Jack. Makes for a pretty much good anime, where you need not to see the OVAs to actually understand the story.
What did I miss recently? Been playing Final Fantasy 14, watching animes and searching jobs all at the same time, so I'm more or less booked and I don't visit forums that often anymore.
Teia, I'm of those that believes anime should be dubbed in more than one version per langage,m then pick up the best one. Pretty sure my province would make a pretty much decent translation of many animes. Plus, it would open lots of career options in many countries, restarting the economy and expanding the anime watcher population by tens.
Pretty sure some animes would sound better in Quebec's french.
So, I'm completing my installation of FF14 on my gaming tower. Heard it was controller compatible (which is good for me, since my set-up is pretty much wacky and hard to live with, specially when my computer desk is my bed). The update is about a third done. Since it's my first install, I have the 30-day free trial, then I can purchase some time cards at a local game store (altought I'm in Canada). The owner imports them specifically for his shop and he's the only one in the region to have them (a friend also said he would back me up if that option was unavailable).
What I don't get about Anime fans. Why say "Shokugeki no Soma" Why not just say.. ya know.. Food Wars..
Yeah though, not a huge fan of "fan service". Never really adds anything to the show. Rosario + Vampire was so terrible, lol.
Because they often mistranslate the title in english. For example, Asobi ni Iku Yo!, which means Go out to play according to Babylon's translation, is named Cat Planet Cuties in english when the story revolves only around the love square between the protagonist, the catgirl alien and 2 other girls. And even there, it's not representative of the anime!
Cmon Foxblade, Ben 10 isn't even an anime. I know it's a temp account, but don't troll.
Hey, and to add even more to the anime name thing it's the same reason we dont refer to common items by their literal translations, unless you'd like italian style bread covered in tomato sauce, meat and cheese for your next pre-release
Pretty sure it's not the same Ben here. Ben 10 is a cartoon of a boy with a wierd watch that fight aliens and monsters, Ben-To is peoples fighting over half-priced bentos at the convenience store.
Yeah, Charlotte is really a expectation breaker, right? Might be why I love the anime. I even guessed that the little sister was still alive, but after some time travel.
You can check New Egg or Tiger Direct for computers. Just stay away from anything Alien Ware, cause your going to pay more for the brand and less for the PC.
Basically, it's going to eat your phone bill because of internet usage (they say it does not cost anything, which is a plain lie, the internet service on the phone has a humongous cost), will do the same thing as sending a text message to a group of person or sending a message trought Facebook to a custom group you would have created and is thus pointless. I deduced all this just from reading on their page, I never used and will never use this app.
Basically, it's a huge spending machine where they make money from their parts with the cell phone internet providers.
Okay, found out about another good anime. Joukamachi no Dandelion. It's decent, has good graphics and the setting is interesting. You basically follow the story of the royal kinds of a country. There's 9 of them and they are soon going to run into a king election. They are under constant surveillance by cameras when they are in town, only place where there's none is at home and at school. The king wants them to live the most normal life as plausible, but there's a catch here. Everyone of them has a superpower, which identify them as members of the royal familly. The main focus is on the shy girl who can control gravity (restricted to only her and what she touches), but there's also some views of the other's daily life, like the 10 YO girl who can control the life energy of stuff, making them either older or younger for 24 hours.
You had to mention Jay Naylor. I also love his works. His drawings are great and clearly show that the furry fandom is not restricted by background stories. We probably could discuss fur autors for hours, but I guess that would derail this thread completely. And did you knew that Disney stole Tezuka's idea when the Lion King was made? It's clearly a rip off of Kinba the White Lion ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimba_the_White_Lion ). Disney was the one who prevented Japanese animation to take roots in North America at that time (he wanted the monopole, so I guess we can also call Disney a hypocrite), but that's slightly out of subject.
Speaking of Tezuka, have you seen some of his works? He was a fur artist (might be one of the very first modern fur artists) and he made a great movie called Bagi the Mighty monster of Nature, which was about humans playing with genetics and creating Bagi, some kind of pink female cat fur. He clearly shows two sides of the same medal here: genetics. There is one fine line between playing god and being a ressearcher. Wouldn't mind tought if it was plausible to graft animal genes to the human DNA. Imagine a real loan shark! He would take quite a bite if you end up swimming in his money pool!
Maybe I should speak about my favorite furry writer. He writes mature stories and normal stories. I'm speaking of Fred Brown. Pretty sure that what he writes could represent both sides of the Furry subculture. And as I said before, there are furries that were passed down in history. Check the Egytian gods. Those gods were furs. Native Americans worshipped spirit animals that could speak, those were furs too. So... Guess furs were here long before the modern age.
Yes, let's. And I never said it would completely eradicate mass murders (altought they were made under discrimination of ''other races'', which is as bad as religion wars). But back on subject: Furs shouldn't be scared to walk down the roads just because some persons have this biased view caried by some biased entertainment (who only wanted to make more money on the back of some fandoms, by the way) that shoots them the evil glare of disgust. There's nothing disgusting in being a fur.
You should watch Charlotte. The anime is great! And they didn't hesitate to temporary kill one of the main characters twice (just saw the newest episode, episode 9, and it confirmed two of my guesses: Ayumi is not dead and time travel is involved, huge cue were the wierd memories from the protagonist and Ayumi). It's an original work and it's from the same studio who gave us Angel Beats.

Seriously, it's good.
