An edh game just a little while ago. Turn 2, Nature's Lore, turn 3 Solemn Simulacrum, turn 4 cast Xenagos, God of Revels my commander. Turn 5 rolls around and I've got 7 lands to play with after ramping up twice. Cast Summoner's Pact for Craterhoof Behemoth. Then cast Tooth and Nail choosing two creatures from hand. Land hoofy and Hydra Omnivore. Xenagos turns on and craterhoof pumps all the boys for 4. Xenagos trigger turns hydra from a 12/12 into a 24/24 and gives him haste. Hydra swings at opponent 1 for 24, and all the others go for player 2 a total of 25 to him. Opponent 1 blocks the hydra with 1 goblin forgetting that hoofy gives trample, and opponent 2 says no blocks since hes at 36 life and can take 25 no problem.
If Thrun, The Last Troll could be targeted by a Doom Blade for some reason then you could activate his regenerate ability. The opponent casting Stifle would counter that ability. The uncounterability of Thrun only applies to when he is cast as a spell.
If I did play it I would get the face altered to that of the Forest Spirit since that is the only difference, right down to the plant growth from its footsteps.
800.4a When a player leaves the game, all objects (see rule 109) owned by that player leave the game and any effects which give that player control of any objects or players end. Then, if that player controlled any objects on the stack not represented by cards, those objects cease to exist. Then, if there are any objects still controlled by that player, those objects are exiled. This is not a state-based action. It happens as soon as the player leaves the game. If the player who left the game had priority at the time he or she left, priority passes to the next player in turn order who's still in the game. #
So if you donate something to another player who subsequently leaves the game for whatever reason, those permanents are exiled.
If I received that Empty the Warrens call at regular REL I would be fine with backing them up a step and explaining to the less learned player how storm triggers work since that's the point of regular REL education and fun.
At competitive though players are assumed to know how activated and triggered abilities function as well as how to interact with the stack. In addition him targeting the original Empty is a completely legal play so I wouldn't feel compelled to rewind.
And there is this little tidbit from the accepted tournament shortcuts.
• A player who casts a spell or activates an ability that targets an object on the stack is assumed to target the legal target closest to the top of the stack unless the player specifies otherwise.
While the Mindbreak Trap player did specify otherwise, there were no other Warrens on the stack at that time.
It depends on what step of the combat phase you are in. If you both understand that you have moved past the beginning of the declare blockers step then it is too late for him to block.
If they cast fog during the declare attackers step, then they do have chance to declare blockers still.
4/15/2013 If permanents become untapped during the untap step, Mesmeric Orb's ability will trigger that many times. However, since no player gets priority during the untap step, those abilities wait to be put on the stack until the upkeep starts. At that time, all the "beginning of upkeep" triggers will also trigger. Those abililties and Mesmeric Orb's triggers can be put on the stack in any order.
The counter will still resolve normally, except that the creature spell won't be countered. Something likeDismiss would attempt to counter the creature, then draw a card even if the creature wasn't countered.
Remember that uncounterable spells can still be targeted by all manner of counter spells, but they just aren't countered. If they try to use Mindbreak Trap however, thats different. Exiling a spell doesn't counter it, it simply removes it from the stack. Uncounterable spells can still be exiled.
For all formats other than EDH Flinthoof Boar is green, end of story.
For purposes of commander there is a deck construction rule called color identity. A card's color identity is determined by the mana symbols in its mana cost and any symbols that appear in its rules text. Remember that it is still only a green spell, and cards that interact with only red spells and creatures don't interact with the boar. So Flinthoof Boar would only be usable in a GR commander deck, while something like Bringer of the Green Dawn would only be usable in a 5 color deck.
Before the ability is activated it is a 5/5 because it receives a buff in sublayer 7c of continuous effects. Once the ability of colossus which is also in sublayer 7c resolves it will be a 10/10 which is still receiving the +1/+1 from the Imperious Perfect so an 11/11 in total.
Then he rereads Hydra Omnivore. And concedes.

903.11. If a commander would be put into its owner's graveyard from anywhere, that player may put it into the command zone instead.
And the same goes for exile.
903.12. If a commander would be put into the exile zone from anywhere, its owner may put it into the command zone instead.
Edit: So just to be clear; even when you have been hit by a Mind Slaver you still decide what happens to your commander.

scratch that realized my mistake
