So basically I am wondering how this card interaction works Hive Mind + Last Chance. Do I take the first turn and lose? Does the opponent who's turn it is before me take the first extra turn, and proceed to loose? Does this even work?
I won't go so far as to say "MODERN IS DEAD". In my opinion it was certainly the most interesting to watch, so I doubt I will be viewing the PT. That said I have hope modern will make a return, or perhaps this is part of a move to expand the size of events by having more in tandem to fit the growing player base (admittedly baseless speculation)?
Its a double edged sword, It does make a tonne of guys, and its either REALLY good with cards like blade splicer, or REALLY bad. It also affects your splicer tokens and whatnot. I personally wouldn't risk it to be honest.
I run the blue fetches so roil elemental is particularly good in my mono blue deck. Though admittedly, the 3/2 flying tornadobro isn't really what makes him a finisher.
In my opinion it comes down to the debate of what being a casual format entails. Some people seem to think casual means trying to win is monstrous. The thing to keep in mind, regardless of the format, is that magic is ultimately a game. Playing games for fun is well and fine, but you cannot be upset when someone makes the best possible move. Trickbinding your simulacrum basically guaranteed that you would not be a threat for the remainder of the near future.
A thing to note, The new gods require 7 devotion not 5 so the shadowmoor 'gods' will not in fact activate them, given is only one to devotion requiring green and black (not that that exists yet)
I think In most of my decks it would have to be sol ring. It is such a huge game changer when it is in your opening hand, doubling the odds of that happening cant be bad.
2) Still technically not giving all the devotion by themselves.
I kinda said that, like a month ago.
