I went 4-1-1 for 6th out of 41 players yesterday. I chose the white promo but I didn't end up playing it in my w/g aggro deck. I had 2 sure blade elf, 4 raise the alarm, 2 runeclaw bear, spirit bond from my seeded pack, white paragon, triplicate spirits, 2 convoke golem,a kalonian twingrove and some other stuff I don't remember. My loss came from a b/w player with avacyn, on nixilis, protection from everything enchantment, triple typhoid rat and double child of night. I just couldn't get enough damage through before his bombs hit.
The other rates in my sealed pool were waste not, goblin kaboomist, avarice totem, and some other d card. I did get 6 packs for 6th place and opened a Nissa and a Garruk.
Other than another pack of Conspiracy, what pack was added to the draft you participated in? What cards were played and actually relevant?
In the first draft I was in, the person who opened a Lorebroker added a Dragonsmaze pack. I am pretty sure he did it just to troll the table. Although there were a few very relevant cards that got played. The person to his left played r/g and drafted Armed/Dangerous, the person to his left played b/w and got the rare from the pack, Teysa Envoy of Ghosts. I played u/r splashing a black card and a green card, and picked Blast of Genius with my first pick from the pack and then a Golgari Cluestone with my second pick.
During the game, the r/g guy tried to alpha strike the guy who added the Dragonsmaze pack with Armed/Dangerous entwined, but someone else cast Respite to save him. Then sometime later, I used the Blast of Genius to kill Teysa.
Much appreciated. I thought that maybe I would get copies of Giant Adephage since when the creature deals combat damage, a copy of "Giant Adepahge" is put into play, not a copy of "Itself".
If I have a Lazav, Dimir Mastermind in play as a copy of Giant Adephage and he deals combat damage to an opponent, will I put a copy of Lazav into play (killing both) or will I put a copy of Giant Adephage into play?
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee"
before doing some craziness a few times. Never more than once with the same people, though, it gets old. And is long.

When I am playing blue and someone casts something I don't like, I say "please don't do that" while countering it.
I currently have 15 complete edh decks. My playgroup is casual so my decks are not optimally tuned, they just have good cards and cards I like to play with.

My advice to anyone getting into edh is buy a precon and I always suggest Heavenly Inferno. As stated by previous posters, it comes with Sol Ring and Lightning Greaves, widely regarded as edh staples.
As far as customizing the deck, as others have said, it could get expensive due to the decks theme. However, there are some good utility creatures from those tribes that are easy on the wallet:
You can find all of these cards for $2 or less retail and as I have said before they all have some sort of utility. Drawing cards, wiping the board, and blowing up permanents all attached to a fat body? What else could you ask for?
Check out my Kaalia list when you get the chance if you need more ideas.
Made a few edits today. Quicksilver Amulet as another way to cheat fatties.
Swapped out Spellbreaker Behemoth for Rampaging Baloths for two reasons. First, there isn't actually a whole lot of blue in my playgroup (not that I want to be casting fatties anyways) and second, the baloths bring buddies when there is landfall.
Made some changes to the mana base and added the Quicksilver Amulet. Also took out a few removal spells because a number of my creatures have abilities that act as removal. Now thinking about adding Blood Speaker as a demon tutor.

Went with Izzet saturday and went 4-2. Opened Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius in my guildpack (2 for 2 on guild leaders), a normal Hypersonic Dragon in addition to the promo, Dreadbore, Auger Spree and Rakdos's Return. My losses were to... wait for it...mana screw/mana flood.
My buddy played golgari in both events and won both. He had Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord Friday and basically just stuff saturday.
There were 48 players Friday and 41 players Saturday.
My Kresh deck has a heavytoken theme so she will be going in asap.
Shizo, Death's Storehouse is basically free evasion that I run in my build. Plus you can use it politically.

And finally replaced Duergar Hedge-Mage with Oracle of Mul Daya. Hedge-Mage never seemed to trigger both ways without having to work for it and Oracle could possibly syphon off enough lands to increase Mayael's hit %.
