Probably has to do with the miniscule profit loss the extra ink would cost to produce them.
I highly doubt that is the reason. I mean a lot less people look at the lands than the [sarcasm]BIG AWESOME KILLING DEMON[/sarcasm] card. So flavour text is just better on other things in my opinion.
60+ on tournaments will mostly benefit the control decks. More room for mass removals and other counterspells.
Are you serious?
Everything past 60 makes your deck LESS consistent.
Or maybe you were that guy at the GP I beat that ran 75 card U/W control that never had any answers to anything
It's overall, so you should consider its applications in all the formats that it's legal in (which, for these cards, is pretty much Vintage, Legacy and EDH).
I feel satisfied if my U/B control deck has all the cards it needs. Which it does. Excess cards get sold/traded off for EDH and what not. I guess I am happy with my 'collection.'
Would you care to explain this? Just stating this without reasoning doesn't help others. Perhaps it would be better in their particular build. I agree ponder is no Preordain, but as a digging spell, it's worthy of consideration and not to be dismissed out of hand
Did you not read the rest of my post in which I explained it? The idea of U/B control is to 1 for 1 your opponent as efficiently as possible whilst having superior card draw. With this you will inevitably come to a win when your opponent is drained of answers. Ponder does nothing to help this.
Also Preordain wasn't used as a digging spell in U/B because we don't have any combo pieces, it was used to filter through the deck and putting the cards you do NOT need at the bottom of your deck never to be seen. Ponder simply doesn't do this.
you can turn 1 koth if you play with Chancellor of the Tangle he give's you one free green mana so turn one memnite after you get the green mana then plunge into koth. then start wining.
or just go grixis and use it with grave titan and get cor-auger out then your opps hand is reduced to 0 and you draw 7 at end of turn.
Not sure if serious lol.
The card doesn't see play because it's terrible in the current format. Especially as Foodchaingoblins said, tragic slip will just wreck any creatures you cast with this terrible, terrible card.
i suppose you could make a control deck around it running creatures that are not easy to target and have evasion qualities like inkmoth nexus, invisible stalker etc.
problem is your only 1 elesh norn or black suns from being shut down.
Just not U/B control, if you want to run that kind of stuff or post SCD of Sword of Body and Mind, this is in the wrong forum.
This, 1,000 times. I've just stopped reading the articles, the last lot have just been terrible.
2x Heartless summoning+1x Corpse Cur+Falkenrath Noble enchanted with Skeletal Grimace.
It's amazing right!???
On a serious note, I hope there is a good combo in the next set to make combo a tier 1 deck again.
I highly doubt that is the reason. I mean a lot less people look at the lands than the [sarcasm]BIG AWESOME KILLING DEMON[/sarcasm] card. So flavour text is just better on other things in my opinion.

Just gonna go with Celestial Force then.
But in all seriousness, I agree with you. This guy is useless.

Sure it was wrong, but you didn't do anything to prevent it.
