Yeah this deck is not competitive by modern standards but it sure is fun. At my best during local fnms, i've taken the deck with an X-0 or X-1 finish. My current version of the deck uses 2 main deck Echoing Truthsin the event of going against some sort of lock deck. I'm a bit curious on how everyone feels about the one ofs in the main deck like the one lightning boltor one Serum Visions. Would it be better to have multiple copies for consistency, and which one would you prioritize over?
Hey everyone! So im running a variant of Jeskai Tempo/Burn and I would like some suggestions on what to change or cards I should add in.
So far, I notice that this deck has problems against Abzan and U/B Dragons/Control which are currently meta. The problem with both those decks is that they scale harder than I could even if I'm following my tempo. Abzan has a ridiculous amount of heals so burns is useless while Control ruins my tempo leaving me only to burn them. I would like some suggestions on how I can fix my weaknesses and even what cards I should try out.
Hello, so I'm coming back to standard after about a year hiatus so I need some help developing a deck. After drafting a bit I collected and traded enough cards to make a decent U/R Gutter deck. But I have too many cards to put into one deck so I would like some help deciding how to make my deck.
So I haven't been experienced with the new meta ever since Scars rotated out. I want to continue playing Standard but don't want to create a entirely new deck. I ran a decent B/W tokens deck that was pretty nice. Only a handful of the cards were from M12 or Scars but still, with the new block, I need replacements. Can you guys give me suggestions for cards i should replace to fit the meta and recommendations for cards to test out?
I would try to throw in one Nefaraox overlord of grixis
it seems like you are only running blue for stalker...
I dont know what your budget is but some cards I would consider are
Cathedral of War is something im gonna try to get my hands on. I've considered Angelic Benediction but it doesn't seem needed. The hitters are going to be something unblockable (Tormented Soul, Stalker, or Aven if needed.) There is no need for something to be tapped. On that subject, cards like Benalish veteran won't fit in this deck. Benalish supports only itself. Attacking with it won't do much. He's going to get blocked and end of story. Mortis is something to think about because he can do some serious damage when dead.
So I made a exalted deck with mostly m13 cards. I know its not perfect, its just a bigger version of a deck i made during a sealed. Please leave opinions, card recommendations, and what should I change in the deck. The idea for the deck is to be a beginner friendly deck to introduce them into Standard. Please use standard cards only. Depending on RtR, I may try to make this more tournament-playable.
Pros
-Be able to play offensive and defensive using a unblockable attacker, and chump block
-Very low mana curve, quick plays and decent hits
-Extremely cheap deck to build
Cons
-Very weak creatures
-Prone to spells that cause -1/-1
-No big creatures, entire field may consist of 2/1 or 1/1
So im running a B/W Token deck. Some of the cards are from Scars and M12 so when RtR shows up, my deck won't be legal. Can someone help by suggesting cards to replace with the cards getting rotated out?
Now on to your deck. 4 Oblivion Rings maybe overdoing it. I suggest taking 2 out and putting in intangible virtues. Cather's Crusade might be hard to use in a deck like this. Not because its bad, but your land is very low. 21 land is very uncommon and during a game, you would be barely able to play anything higher than 4 mana a turn. Im having mixed feelings on Thraben Doomsayer. He is too slow and a target for removal. Instead of Doomsayer consider Blade Splicer. A nice 2-for-1 that gives you a 1/1 and a 3/3 first striker for 3 mana! Angel of Jubilation is a very nice card. She is my replacement for Hero of Bladeshold and Sorin. Consider having 3. I don't run Champion of the Parish in my deck because i rarely play Human tokens in my deck. But if you do keep doomsayer, then keep Champion. The things i don't like about him is that unless you have a way of protecting him, he's a target for removal. I'm not sure about Fiend Hunter though. If you want to keep him then sure. Since the B/W dual lands are expensive, I think a full set of Evolving Wilds and some swamps might just do the trick. Also YOU NEED LINGERING SOULS. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS DECK.
In terms of Sideboard. You're gonna need atleast 2-3 Rachet Bombs. Im not sure I like Angel of Glory's Rise in anything outside of limited but I cant think of any other good anti-zombie cards. Consider getting some Revoke Existence
if you do go to a FMN. You need something to kill Batterskull, Wurmcoil Engine, and Sword of X and Y. Throw in Timely Reinforcements in case of a burn or if they run a aggro deck that's alot faster. When you take out the two Oblivion Rings, they should go straight into your SB. Put two Doom Blades incase if they run artifact creatures Go for the Throat can't kill or just more removal. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
I don't think this card is good at all. Maybe some kind of burn deck that uses X which is your mana to do damage, but still she would be too slow. By the time you can get her ulti up, the mana is either irrelevant or too late to make a impact. Ajani is alot better. Both have nearly no way of protecting themselves but Ajani offers slight advantage has a possible end game ulti. Liliana can possibly kill or make something stronger, but chances are its going to end up killing her.
This looks like less of a "Dredge" deck and more of a Unburial Rights deck. Tracker's instinct doesnt look too good for this deck because you don't have much creatures. Maybe you want to replace them with Oblivion Rings or some sort of removal? Im not sure but the land base looks kinda gross in my opinion but if it works for you great! Consider putting in more token producing cards like Midnight Haunting, or Gather the Townsfolk. You could make this mostly a B/W unburial rights deck then get Craterhoof when you have a nice army of tokens.
So after going to a FMN draft, I realised I had plenty of Restored cards. Bored, I made a casual deck composed of Restored cards only. I made a G/W Human Soulbond deck. Please give your opinions! I might improve this deck to make it more competitive casual. Please give ideas and recommendations for cards, and keep it budget wise please.
What do you guys feel about champion of lambholdt here with the cagebreakers? This could be a dirty play......
Dirty play indeed. But very very unlikely. Chances of drawing both of them to use at the same time are very low. Lets take the combo in my Sig as an example. Sure in a casual/legacy it could help win the game right there. But what if you draw Dark Ritual too late? Its just a dead draw. Same with Cagebreaker and Lambholt. If you draw Cagebreaker too early, your gonna have a dead card in your hand for a while. This deck isn't about numbers unless you make it like, that so a early Lambholt will be a easy target for burn. I would rather have cards I can use at any time in my hand than two creatures that I have to wait to use. Cagebreaker has one large weakness. Its a 3/4 that can't do anything when summoned. It gives them that one turn to make it disappear.
Its no Jitte because Jitte is actually used in Legacy and Vintage. But it should maintain a 4-6$ price as long as it stays in standard and for casual play.
Using the burns and creature removal to buy you some time to build up a stable mana supply. Once the mana supply is up, you can start dropping nice meaty vampires. The burns in this list are ones that are decent. If you can, look for more cheaper burns put it in. You want to be able to burn while still having the mana to throw down a vampire in the same turn. Once the vampires are up, start whaling on them while keeping them down with strong burns. The vampire interloper is intended for quick hits early game, and gets stronger as a attacker during late game (assuming he lives that long.) This deck looks like a wicked mid to late game answer but probably is slow and awkward during early game.
