That's just a rough draft, the only thing that would need major improvement is the sideboard as it is mostly going to be tuned to your meta.
A few things:
Your list runs far to many counterspells, this may be indicitive of not realizing that is a bad idea with Cavern of Souls ruining control decks(the non tapout kind).
Also, like the guy above said, take out the emissaries, they are really bad, now that Pillar of Flame is in the metagame.
Just some thoughts.
I will discount the Emissary's, as for you build, I disagree with a few things, I'm planning on using a combo of ramp and control, running a full set of both Titans seems too much considering most of myyour ramp is in spell. Also I think 2 Mana Leak's is not enough counter magic. I think we need more early game control in the event we get a slow start to the game.
Remove the Emissaries. Add in some Devastation Tides to cast the turn before you drop the Titans. Also add one more Prime Time.
Devastation Tide does look appealing, and with Ponder it can be pretty nasty. I'm unsure about it though, it's a good spell no doubt, I'm just not sure what to drop for it.
I know I know, this deck's better days are behind it, but a beat down control deck still seems possible to me. A fellow player suggested a Blue/Green ramp and mill deck, so this Friday me and him will discuss the list and I will post it either on this forum or on a seperate forum. Anyways the idea is Green for and to summon creatues to beat down your opponent, and Blue for control and counter, or "crowd control" as I call it.
My problem with this deck at first was a lack of ramp, but some research fixed that. My problem now is I feel that I do't have enough heavy beaters. I feel that the Sphinx and my Titans aren't enough.
I really, really have a hard time believing that Vexing Devil's are going to play the same role as the Stromkirk's. Stromkirk Noble has the capability to single-handedly deal 10+ damage in a few turns if left unattended after a T1 drop. Vexing Devil simply deals 4 damage and then leaves you with an undeveloped board. They are simply not the same type of card and VD should not replace it.
Additionally, I feel like 16 creatures is not enough damage for a RDW deck. You don't even have a finisher 4 drop. You should at the very least look into putting 4x Hero of Oxid Ridge or 4x Hellrider in place of some of those spells... at least in my opinion.
I like the idea of Hero of Oxid Ridge, and since he looks cheap enough I think I can squeez, what do you think, 2 or 3 in? I was thinking 2. Hellrider looks ok, maybe sideboard worthy, I do think I want to use Vexing Devil though, even if I have to sideboard him I like what he does. But you do have a valid point with the Hero, although, I play tested this deck in two games, I just feel very uncertain about the Noble's. It's a good card IF and only if you get it going and can protect it. I'm going to see how the deck currently standing does at FNM this Friday and then I will report back. But I'm ok to discuss ideas until then.
I recently bought RDW deck off some one for $60. I am curios if this deck has any promise in today's Type 2 field. I am planning to add a full set of Vexing Devil's when they are officially released for sale this coming Friday when I debut with this deck. The only thing this deck lacks other than the Devil's is a sideboard. I need help assembling a 15 card sideboard. This is the current list.
Whn I aquire a full set I'm planning to replac my Stromkirk Noble's with Vexing Devil's. Otherwise what do you guys think? Changes? Sideboard suggestions? I'm pretty sure this is my full deck I'll double check a little later and make corrections if needed but otherwise this is it.
No, not really. I don't think there's any way around it, Goyf is the best there is.
I discussed this deck with someone and said it's good buy Goyf is a problem because he says the players are to dependant on him. He's played against this deck in Modern for the record.
I really like the Counter Aggro deck. I think I will build that. It's perfect for me. Just the right amount of Offense and Defense. Yeah well My birthday and Christmas will be here soon. 2 one holiday, 2 another holiday. Until then I will use something in his place. Best of luck wiht your build.
dude, i think you are my new hero for calling goyf gofy i think i am going to have to add the extra O though and call him goofy, cause of how nearly everybody seems to be towards him. ($100/creature for what everyone says you need a board of ?????)
there are a ton of effects in blue green. i use to run with a nice little draw engine aggro build with snakes and fish runing about half hybrids and half golds. the crazy-genius deck-builkder in our meta had a bad-ass graft deck/ permission deck that was a SOB to beat back in the old extended.
There is also the UG counter aggro thread stickied at the top of the page. You might want to read that and the heartbeat of spring thread. It's 2 very different ways to take a UG deck and there are others still.
Yeah i checked out the counter aggro, ot looks sick and am willing to build it, I just need it to see if exculfing that guy that costs $100 a piece will work (Gofy)
I like this deck and am willing to build it. Is there any chance I could make it work without the guy that costs around $100 a peice though. I may have a good sum of money to start building this deck but not an unlimited amount.
Ok so I have been wanting to build a Blue Green deck and Modern seems like a nice format to do so in. But what kind of deck. Of friend of mine reccomneded a combo deck with Heartbeat of the Spring as a ramp deck revolved around thta. I have also seen the former standard deck turbo ramp that was U/G with titans. Any ideas? Anything is welcome. And since I haven't had much luck I'd appretiacte your input.
This was the last deck I played beofre M10 and the Alara block cycled out. I'm wondering what a build without Ponder and Preordain would be like, since they are both banned in Extended, would be like. Ideas?

Well glad to see I started something. Well I will se what others think about replacing Goofy, and if not then I will try to obtain a playset of them.
