Hey guy, I heard about this deck the other week and figured i give it a try. I ended up going 2-1-1 in a local 4 round modern at my store.

Few things i felt about it at this time. I dislike the Thassa, God of the Sea. I boarded her out every game and felt that she was only played if i drew her naturally. THe other thing is that 3zur the enchanter would be fine. The fourth might to be necessary. I think that i would like 1 rest in peace in the main or a Threads of Disloyalty.

Either way it was a great deck to play and it attacks on so many different levels. I ended up getting the first round by, won against BWR small pox deck, drew against Goryo's Vengeance deck (which i got him to 1 on turn 5. My only loss was Skred Red.

I like having 2 win cons to be hondest, 1 tendrls, 1 grapeshot. I once made a mistake to telling my opponent about only have 1 wincon (tndrls) after i beat him. And ofcourse i play him in the semifinals. I kept with the tndrls in my hand and he durssed me and took it. sence then i run atleast 2 win cons. The Beastmaster accensions, i think, are better for the side board. its a different aspect and they will not be ready for it.

Thanks to LurkingMat for the great decklists you sent.

I'm very close to buying a big chunk of cards for the above deck.
The ONLY thing that I feel uncertain about is 4 Summoner's Pact. They are gonna run me around 25 dollars and they don't seemed to be used in the more "high-end" combo elves lists...?

I'm not a big fan if the NO plan. It seems like its all or nothing. I run 3 summoner's pact. This one in the link its made to combo. Summoner's pacts allow a more stable combo. It helps you go off early.

Ezuri is underrated and doesn't get enough credit.

I can not agree with that more. Ezuri is the goods.

So i Run the black verson with ad nauseum, but what i am planning on trying is running infernal contract in there, so to draw 4 at a cost of a dark ritualor culling the weak, a turn 1/2 win life is illrelevent.
The list would look like so:

Its just a rough draft, but something like that seems like it could take a turn 1 kill easy. ill goldfish it over the week and let everyone know what it looks like.

23 hours is bad. I did from MA to GA for the Atlanta GP over the summer and that was 18 hours, with 5 of us is a Scion XB, but it would be worth it =D.
There is a GP in November 16-17 in Washington DC that im going to, and possibly modern masters in Vagas. These events are by far the best and they are a nessessity to go to if you can.
    Have fun with the cherri0s

It was MTG Cast -> Monday Night magic Episode 340. Clues I think his name was.

I would say run naxious revival, so you go glimpse, cherri0, while maintaining priority you do revival, targeting glimpse, draw the glimpse, cast it again and then you have 2 draws per cherri0. its basically having the second glimpse in had, but all you do is loose 1 draw (IE you need more than 1 cherri0 in hand to go off).

Edit: Serenechaos, are you from NC or SC? There was a pod cast that i listen to when someone gave a shot out to a person who won a grand prix trial with cherri0s. If so congrats !

That's awesome! Congratulations Smile Just read your (very well written) write up on community.wizards.com, it sounds amazing. Like you yourself have mentioned, force of will decks are just very tough for us and the fewer we meet the better our chances. I personally look forward to testing out my previously mentioned build next week. I understand what you're saying about Street Wraith. Will give it a try tho Smile

Can you link that write up, i can not seem to find it anywhere.

And congrats serenechaos! Next up is that this deck needs to be a sticky, then up to established!

    EDIT:
    I acually found the link

Keep in mind this is not an optimal list, but what I am playing tomorrow night.

Ideally I'd take out the 2x Gutshot, 1x Summoner's Pact, 4x Frogmite for 3x Crimson Kobolds and 4x Crookshank Kobolds. Also, exchange the shock lands for the original dual lands. Then from there I'd have to do some more goldfishing to see whether I want to add some LEDs or Diabolic Intent

The one thing im not too sure about is why do you run 2 Tendrils of Agonyand 2 Grapeshot? What i did learn the other day is that you should run 1 of each. The reason i lost my semi finals games is becuase he took the tendrils out of my hand so i had no win condition. I will run 1 grape shot now on and the galaxian probes. Im not sure how im going to fit it by they are nessessary.

The Cherri0s deck is a deck you can only show up with once every few months. Its way to easy to hate out, so the best time to run it is when your meta turn to combo/agro. Blue and black are the hardest colors for us to beat. Hand disruption can take a good hand and turn it poor, or a solid counter can beat us. I actually do like pact of negation in the sb for a response. So cards like surgical extraction, silence and noxious revival work well too.
Like serenechaos, duel lands are not necessary, the only reason i run them is because i own them. your life is generally irrelevant.

Yesterday I acually tried my spanish cheri0s version of the deck, and it was great. You run:

The deck rocked. I ended up only loose one game in the top 4 to ad nauseum tendrls, which i punted my self. Over all i ended up splitting 3/4 with someone and took the 5$ for the pay in back.

    G1 vs Elves.
This was a joke, he won the die roll and goes; elf, go. I turn 1 him. Game two, same exact thing. We were done in about 5 min.

    G2 vs ad nauseum tendrls.
This is to the person i lost in the quarter finals with. He is a very good player and acually told me this was the first time he lost with the deck in weeks. Over all it was who won the die roll. Match 1 i go off before he has a turn. match 2 he ends up ripping my hand apart and wins. Match 3 he doesnt get a first turn.

G3 Vs 4 color ad nauseum tendrls.
This game match was the same as the other Ad Nauseum match up, but he won the die roll, just he did not know what i was playing and took the wrong thing from my hand. My first turn I go off. Match 2 he beats me and game 3 i do not give him a first turn.

    G4 vs. MUD post
    Draw

    Quarter finals: ad nauseum tendrls
I won the die roll and went off on my frist turn. He started to sideboard while i was combing. Game 2 he prob/cabal both of my glimpes away on mull to 6.
Match 3 sucked. I keep land, land, glimps glimps, culling the week, and 2 cherrio on the play. I though about it and figured i needed to try to go off turn one, if he has some sort of hand disruption im going to get smoked out. So the 2 cherrios acully draw 2 lands and he did not have the hand disruption. so over the next few turn i do not draw any cheeri0s, and he eventuallt goes off. I should of waited for turn two with the double glimpse, but If he cabaled naming Glimpes I loose.

Either way i was excited on how well the deck worked. I was albe to turn 1 so many times. The only thing is that i did not run into any blue, IE FOW.

i run 12 to ensure i hit an explosive opener. I plan on dropping the arbors for the set of visionaries and symbiotes as soon as i pick them up. maybe drop the second regal force in there, and keep more arbors. seriously, having the 12 1-drops is amazing, especially since i only run forests.

i prefer the archdruids, especially with the concordant build. in the concordant/vitalize build my goal is to alpha strike with pumped up elves.

the land count is low, but i have to go low because i dont have fancy lands and such. my goldfishing and play with the deck, the limited land base is not so much of an issue.

Anther note, you are missing heritage druid. They are the KEY elf to make the combo a lol experiance.

If you want to alpha stike us either ezuri, renegade leader or Joraga Warcaller. Dont try to do to many thing with your deck, or you will never be able to win the hard matches. the glimpes combo is hard when you have too many 3 drops, and trying out aggro a RUG deck isnt likely.
