+2 can do a lot of triggered abilities, such as Sun Titan, Snapcaster Mage, Armored Skaab, or just untap a land
-1 can help to finish opponent or clear other planewalkers
-8 is just amazing
and what you think about running a 1x Skaab Ruinator, can help against Karn's -14, and having one in graveyard it's not that bad
and having 1x side or main Laboratory Maniac, some games (mirrors over all) could be very long
Hello everybody.
I'm here trying to create my first deck for Standard. I wanna say first of all I restarted playing MTG with Innistrad, and don't know very well cards from Scars of Mirrodin block and M12.
I liked how Innistrad wanted to have creatures in graveyard to trigger Morbid and pump creatures in battlefield, so I tried to create, maybe with the help of the community, a deck with that aim.
I chose green as main source of winning conditions (attack dmg), and blue for its counter/draw/discard ability.
That's kinda a Block Construct deck, so I'm asking you if there something in M2 or SoM that would fit here.
And some suggestions on how to build a good sideboard for Standard.
@arrnaria I don't like aquamoeba cause i prefer using the discard option for the wild mongrels, honestly i don't think they will save me from many aggro decks( I mean against those or I get wild mongrels or I probably loose). Anyway I'll try out adding those thx for the advice.
@The Fluff: I like that card but I think it would slow too much my gameplay. I need to run fast the core of the deck, or at least slow the opponent with counter, that's why i wouldn't change them for daze
@Spiral Architect: Yes most every dual color deck should have the dual lands, but atm i don't have enough money to spend on this deck :P. Yes preordain are way better, and yes they are way better counter for a dual color. Thx
@cache1988: I wouldn't play it cause I don't really need to draw creature cards. I would prefer to discard in advance of draws or pumping the mongrels. Anyway I'll consider this card too
Btw anyone didn't say a thing about the sideboard T_T
Can be sided but those prots from white strike so hardly!
I didn't see 1 of them in any deck. Why it isn't still the best draw card for t2?

Here's a first Decklist I thought could work:
4x Hinterland Harbor
7x Forests
6x Islands
3x Ghost Quarters
Creatures(20) :
4x Splinterfright
4x Boneyard Wurm
4x Ambush Viper
4x Phantasmal Image
4x Skaab Ruinator
4x Garruk Relentless
4x Mulch
4x Forbidden Alchemy
4x Ponder
2x Memory's Journey
2x Think Twice
Doubt cards:
Grimoire of the Dead Can be good @ lategame
Laboratory Maniac
Mirror-Mad Phantasm
That's kinda a Block Construct deck, so I'm asking you if there something in M2 or SoM that would fit here.

Here's my current list:
10x Islands
10x Forests
Creatures(20)
4x Basking Rootwalla
4x Wild Mongrels
4x Arrogant Wurm
2x Wonder
4x Merfolk Looter
2x Waterfront Bouncer
4x Careful Study
3x Counterspell
2x Daze
3x Roar of the Wurm
4x Circular Logic
1x Ancestral Vision ( only cause i had 1 of them in my collection, and actually don't have any fetch lands)
2x Ponder
1x Preordain
Now i have to ask u a few question/suggestion:
1)Considering the new top decks for Legacy, how should I build my sideboard?
2)Can Terramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wilds be a good cheap alternative to fetch lands, or they don't fit in this deck?
3)Should i remove drawing spells like Ancestral Vision, Ponder and Preordain?
4) Would u suggest better counter spells?
If u have any other suggestion feel free to answer
