It's a lot of fun, thanks for doing this. But the pack doesn't always load a rare and it's set to 14 cards by default instead of 15 (So not including the guaranteed foil)
I also wish it showed what the foil was in each pack.
I could be extremely wrong with my information though, so maybe it's correct and I'm wrong.
Hey Overmaster, I just checked the cube by firing a ton of drafts and so far it always includes a Rare or Mythic so I don't know why it isn't on your end. As for the 14 card booster that's exactly because I've chosen to not include the foil for now since CubeTutor wouldn't make it show up correctly for now. I'm working on a solution and when I get to it, I'll have one copy of each card at foil added in for that 15th card.
How were you able to set Cube Tutor in order to produce 1R/3U/10C packs?
I didn't know it was actually possible.
You need to be a CubeTutor Champion to have access to this function I believe. I also love Champion since it allows me to overlay images which is why I had the new EMA art as soon as the day of full spoilers. It also lets me have my 100% custom powered cube online too, so win win all around!
Not much to say here, I finished uploading my Eternal Masters Draft Sim with correct rarity distribution, draft and sealed options as well as updated card frames and art.
I hope you all enjoy playing with it while we wait for the set to come out!
Took just over 3 hours to set up, but I hope it's worth it!
UPDATE!
Not sure how many hits we're pulling off of here, but we're at over 300+ drafts in a little over 48 hours, Most Drafted Cube this week and 2nd this Month.
Thanks to everyone who's drafted it, I'm glad it's being used!
UPDATE 2: We're at over 800 drafts and are now the Top Drafted Cube of the Month!
UPDATE 3: 2200 + drafts as of today, we're the Top Drafted Cube of the Week, Month and we've made it to the Most Drafted of All Time, now holding 10th place with just 2 drafts until we reach 9th. Don't know how high this will go but I'm glad this one-day sudden inspiration has seen so much use. The analytics section is really cool to browse too.
Thanks for the list, It seems to be at the right level of power I'm looking for too.
Since I've never built a multiplayer cube so to speak, I'm curious as to what major differences I need to be looking for and hopefully your list will help!
We've got a bi-yearly 24 Hour Gaming Event coming up in two weekends and after running a few cube events, I've decided to run a special [b]Auction Draft[b] this year.
If you are unfamiliar with Auction Drafting, I have provided the link to the format variant I will be using:
Now normally, we'd crack packs and play along, but this time I want to build a 360 card Multiplayer "Cube" list so to speak.
When I think of Auctions, I think of either businessmen or criminals. And those two make me think of urban worlds. And that brings me to my overarching theme: Urbanism. We have some amazing sets such as Ravnica, Conspiracy, Mercadian Masques and even Innistrad and Mirrodin so to speak that have elements of urban environments.
Markets, machinery, city guards, thievery, information... all of this makes for a potential multiplayer environment that I feel could be as flavorful as it is fun to play in.
This by no means should be a "perfect" list. Auction draft inherently balances out strong cards vs weaker cards, so we actually want to have a certain percentage of "bad" cards.
At this point, I'm aiming for a 360 card list to have the chance to run more than one of these events and create variance. This is the place for niche synergistic cards and oddballs, like Bazaar Trader or Portcullis. Cards should aim to be urban, but being a solid multiplayer focused card can also work.
I'm aiming at 50 cards per color, 30 lands, 20 multicolor and 60 artifacts.
I'll be adding to these spoilers as the days go by, but all proposed ideas would help enormously.

My apologies, I forgot to add a section explaining the color distribution. Yes, this is a multicolor dense set. I had previously mentioned how the archetypes are split among color pairs. There are at least 3-4 cycles at common, 2-3 at uncommon and equally 1-2 at rare. I'd also mentioned the planeswalkers are all color paired as well.
I apologize for not having the time to upload the first cycle I'd mentioned.
I very much love the theme and the naming. It looks like you have a good setting there.
If you're interested, I suggest you look up the Isle of Dread setting for D&D. The Olman tribes and the theme of the place would fit very well. I'd be happy to help comment and critique.
On the keywords, I feel that Intuition and Prediction are very similar and may be confusing when played with. Cannibal should maybe add +1/+1 counters instead? Boost counters don't seem to fit your theme very well.
Thanks for the suggestion. I followed up on your advice and updated the first post. As for the idea, you've got it right on both ends. Power level this is definitely above Standard, we're looking Modern to Legacy most likely. Players should feel excitement and feel good when drafting this. No "ugh, these cards are all ugh" for this set.
As mentioned though, figuring out the draft strategies is part of the experience and that includes understanding the value of cards.
As soon as I get back to a computer and not my ipad, I can show some of the "base" cards which consist of the lands and mana fixing present in the set. I figure players should be able to easily draft two color decks with perhaps splashing a third.
As a preview, I can say that we have a 10-card cycle of lands at common much akin to Khans's gainlands as well as a corresponding nonland cycle which ties in with these lands.
I seem to have caused a little bit of confusion. Is is an entirely custom set, simply built to resemble the feel of VMA style sets. I have simply named it Vault Masters after the Masters set and Vault from the name of my LGS.
Vault Masters is designed and developed as a standalone limited set. It follows the same vein as MMA and VMA by providing a high powered limited environment. To clarify, this is a custom set and all 211 cards are custom made. Unlike MMA though, Vault Masters does not force you to draft an Archetype. Rather, much like VMA, each two color pair is a viable strategy and you should find them to all be hopefully viable. Again, seeing as we do not actually need to reprint certain filler cards, we are able to make it so each and every card is interesting in some way or another. While cards will vary in power level, providing a strong incentive to learn the draft and be able to rate cards, no card should be useless. Crush Underfoot is an example of a card you will not see in Vault Masters, since there are almost no cards which only do something under limits.
Content
As noted above, Vault Masters is 211 cards large, separated into 101 commons, 60 uncommons, 40 rares and 10 mythics. There is a cycle of multicolor cards at uncommon, rare and mythic. In the case of Mythic, each one is a two color Planeswalker. With 1 Mythic per 8 boosters (on average), there will be 3 of these Planeswalkers per draft and 6 per Sealed event. Each booster pack when drafted will contain 11C, 3U and 1R or Mythic.
As a large project, I do welcome all outside input. Recommendations of effects to include, build-around cards to suggest and comments/critique are all very much encouraged. I will keep this post updated as often as possible, providing cards as often as possible. As a side note, each card will have artwork, as I believe this is a crucial part to the drafting experience.

No... art? ...but the art is the card's soul, dude!
You might need a more specific theme. I might have literally a thousand cards that match the description of "could be in a Time Spiral block" (my favorite block too and when you go with "make a card in a day" you end up with lot). Also, with such variety & complexity the tournament's games become rather arduous to play through. I have played with 3-5(?) cubes with similar ideas of my own making (which begs to question - where do I even start with card suggestions?!). Even with experienced players, after just two hours it really starts wearing you down. Just saying - you might almost need a break somewhere between...
This should probably cost 2RR or 3RR. Who wouldn't put this into his/her sideboard? (unless there's a LOT of these cards, which doesn't sound like a good idea)... was this just an example?
Are these steps *really* necessary? Besides, cubes don't usually 'play' with rarity...
====
1) I know, I know... I wish I had the time to find all the artwork but we don't want the art to limit our card's flavor, and it's much easier for me this way.
2) By Time Spiralesque, I mean that any keyword is fine, just like in an ordinary cube. I'm not saying every card is as weird as TS was. Just that were not restricted to the usual 2-5 mechanics/block type thing.
3) It was just an example, but yeah, if I were to put it in, 2RR/3RR would be ideal. If not, this card would be disgusting.
4) The first one is just for color fixing purposes. We want the cube to be singleton, and unless we chock it full of Terramorphic reprints and dual lands, etc, it seemed easier that everyone got a color fixer. The Mythic draft is a group preference really, it allows you to have at least one bomb and one that can potentially guide your draft. Also, I personally dislike how mythics are now just "the (almost) strongest card in the set" and mine are more flavor-based.
I think that's about it.
Thanks for the feedback and the link however! It's much appreciated!
Introduction
A while ago I started (and have now deleted) a page on Magic Set Editor about a custom cube I was planning on making.
I still am.
However, I've decided to go about it a different way and am no longer basing each booster pack on a different set of Magic the Gathering.
I can probably finish it on my own, but I'd love community input on this as this will be printed out and played with.
I'd love to get input from a bunch of you great designers out there however! I have purchased a pack of 100 pro pocket sleeve pages (or whatever they're called) so that means that I can hold about 100 boosters. That's 1800 individual unique cards that can be put into a cube with the following distribution:
1150 common
360 uncommon
240 rare
50 mythic (Special rules, see below)
With a box filled with enough sleeves for a 12 man draft (or two 6 man drafts as per my preference) (and a binder with room for 1800 cards) I have room to spare for ideas!
The rules are simple and few:
- You get credited in the Artist tagline (there's never art on my cards) after the Paradox Vol. X (where X is 1 to 100). This means real people are going to get to know that YOU made that sick card.
- Cards are subject to correction and revision of deemed too weak or too strong. Hopefully this forum topic can already solve this problem.
- All keywords and ideas are fair game EXCEPT banding, bands with others, denimwalk and fear (use intimidate instead). Yes, phasing and horsemanship are ok but don't go wild with them.
- Everyone knows I love Time Spiral. Everyone knows I say feel free to mix and match. This doesn't mean every card has to be insanely complex and weird, but keyword mixing and other small quirks are enjoyed.
- Templating: Use Modern frames for normal cards, Planeshifted for off color cards (even if they aren't a shift of an actual card) and Future frames for anything exceptionally weird.
(e.g.)
Parallel Fulminar :1mana::symr::symr:
Creature - Elemental
Haste
~ can be cast from the sideboard.
3/1
This would merit a Future card frame.
- We're going to try and balance out the colors/rarities alright?
- You can use custom keywords.
- No reprints from real MtG sets.
What then?
Well, once enough cards (360: 240 common, 72 uncommon and 48 rare) have been made, I'll print them out, sleeve them and slowly begin preparing to play with them.
I will then edit a new header on this page entitled Live Feedback and include links to photos of our games, decklists, draft picks, card commentary and I'd love to get some videos done too.
I think it would be fun for the designers to see just what others are thinking about their cards.
So go on, get creative and post any and all ideas that come to mind.
Paradox will always be drafted as follows:
0) Prepare boosters for all players (maximum 12)
1) Each player receives one copy of Manacharged Portal (A land that ETB tapped and taps for one mana of any color. This helps fix the crazy)
2) Each player picks one or two face down Mythics. He can use these during the draft if he so wishes.
3) Each player receives 3 Paradox Boosters (3x 15 cards) then drafts as normal
Because, of course, they are being compleated.
Now they only need to fuse 'em with Eldrazis, and voilà - the ultimate enemy for Magic: the Gathering arises!
In all seriousness, yes, the new art direction feels extremely farfetched.
My word man are you mad? Eldrazi, Slivers AND Phyrexia... WotC don't need those kinds of ideas... no sir.
