I think you are exaggerating that just a little bit. Full retail a case is ~850$, thats 6 boxes at 3.95$ a pack. Now a little bit of math breaks your 150k down to 176 cases or 1060 boxes. Thats more boxes of boosters than was used in the main event of GP Vegas.

Just so you know using GP LV main event is not a good idea. The main event used 1125 boxes that had 24 packs in them during the first day. If you are going to use an example use a good one. His numbers are not that far off. A pallet of booster boxes is 200 cases at my distributors. Now retail on that is (3.99 per pack) X (36) X (6) X (200) = $172,368. Boxes from Wizards are about $75 give or take a $1 (At $75 a pallet is $90,000). So if you are buying at under $75 if you sold a pallet at $80 a box you still make $6000. Now if you are buying at $55 or $60 from Wizards (at $55 per box a pallet is $66,000 and at $60 per box a pallet is $66,000) you could make good money selling $80 (buying at $55 $30,000 made and at $60 $24,000 made) but I have never had the money to buy like that.

I had draft packs worth more than all those card all together. Modern Master draft opened a Foil Tarmogoyf with Vendilion Clique in the rare slot.

I had to tell my boss when I went to GP Vegas and we had 3 people fired the week before. I got $1000 in travel cost non refundable. I said I am going to my tournament or you can cover my costs. I had a great time at GP Vegas.

The bad thing about the Born of the God PTQ Top 8 Mat is that it is very similar to the Theros Game Day Mat. I would not value it over $30.

I think you need to check again. Salmon P. Chase, Sacajawea, and Susan B. Anthony just to name a few are not presidents, founding fathers, and creators of the federal reserve printed on US "money."

From a legal sense, there is no reason to use definitive words like he did these things. Saying someone committed a crime is a big deal. It's why you always here news agencies and such say "allegedly" before a person is convicted of a crime, even in the most obvious cases. If you print that someone is guilty of a crime, and they turn out not to be, you maybe be liable for libel. The fact that you believed it to be true i

On the other hand, saying you believe that someone is guilty is an entirely different matter. The only statement you are representing as true is your belief in a certain thing, which would be basically impossible to disprove.

The Magic ToS allows them to ban people for basically any reason. They donn't have to prove any cases, or anything of that nature, so making definite statements is just not something they need to do.

As for turning things over to the police, perhaps they already have.

I understand what you are saying but the words of a Wizards employee should have been "He allegedly did ... and was ban from MTGO and DCI." "We believe" is a horrible choice of words.

Wizards released a statement about this a while ago:

    http://community.wizards.com/forum/magic-online-general/threads/3893966

As for the claims made by the OP, color me skeptical. WOTC has access to chat logs on MTGO, meaning they can fairly easily track down any allegations of theft or scamming.

WOTC would not have done this without substantial evidence. They have no incentive to just ban someone, or to falsely accuse a player of something.

I read the link you posted and the words used seem funny to me (note a scammer is a scammer and he admits to it). Why post "We believe" and not we know ...? And if they have proof of this they need to hand it over to the police. Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.

Today Wizards of the Coast permanently terminated a player's Magic Online accounts and DCI number because of his misconduct in Magic Online. We believe this player repeatedly violated the Magic Online Terms of Service and Code of Conduct, as well as state and federal criminal laws, by engaging in a pattern of identity theft and fraud, including "scamming" multiple members of our Magic Online community.

This decision was not made lightly. But as you know, we strive to foster the best play environments possible - both online and in face-to-face gameplay - which occasionally requires us to take a strong stance on particularly egregious player misconduct.

Because we don't often issue lifetime suspensions, it bears repeating that Wizards of the Coast puts a strong emphasis on fairness in our games and contributing positively to the player communities. One way to ensure that Magic is great, no matter where you play, is to report any fraudulent or negative behavior that you either see or experience first-hand.

You can do so by e-mailing Wizards Customer Service.

I know the similar flags is confusing, but Basaka is from New Zealand. Australian GPs are what he's referencing.
I feel for our 1 GP per 2 year neighbors.

Silly question what is the player base for NZ and what is the general turnout for a non US GP?

Wizards has nothing to do with this. This is an issue for Walmart and whatever third-party supplies their MtG stock.

If it is a true story it does have something to do with Wizards. The product was bad. You can't fault the costumers. If WalMart can't resell it they send to back to their vendor who then will get credit and/or send it into Wizards. I bought a pack from WalMart that had a damaged foil Liliana of the Veil. Wizards asked if I had a receipt for the pack and they replaced the foil Liliana of the Veil.

You're correct in saying that Vesuvan Doppelganger's "as enters the battlefield" ability doesn't target, so giving any creature protection from anything wouldn't matter. You're free to choose to copy the Captain Sisay in this scenario, as it doesn't involve targeting in any way.

If you're talking about the triggered ability, however, during your upkeep, after the events you described, the stack is as follows:

    TOP
Eight-and-a-Half-Tails making your Vesuvan Doppelganger white
Eight-and-a-Half-Tails giving Captain Sisay protection from white
Your Vesuvan Doppelganger's upkeep trigger, targeting Captain Sisay
    BOTTOM

In this case, your Doppelganger will become white (regardless of what color it was before), and Sisay will gain protection from white. Because the upkeep trigger now comes from a white source, and Sisay has protection from white sources, the ability will be countered for having an illegal target and do nothing; the Doppelganger would not become a copy of Captain Sisay.

Just because the Doppelganger's ability was countered, though, doesn't mean that it automatically goes to your graveyard.

The question was I "play" and it is a clone spell and does not target so protection does nothing to stop you from copying any creature. Your second part if you try to use the triggered ability and it is countered and Vesuvan Doppelganger does not change except for being white as the ability changing it was countered.

Why are you wasting time posting on a forum and not writing Wizards CS. That is what they are there for. I have had to send in several cards to Wizards for a number of reasons as long as you have a receipt Wizards will most likely fix the issue or tell you a way to go about fixing it. http://www.wizards.com/customerservice

That's a li'l harsh considering the plethora of issues that could come up in everyday life. Hell when my LGS was doing its MM draft on release day, opening a "God" pack was the only way you'd be able to buy a individual pack of MM. (They were allowing you to replace the "God" pack you opened in the draft with the new one)

Everyone here was fine with that becuase we're actually friendly not just obsessed with getting every single penny of value from the people around us.

Given that you can trade packs next person gets a bad pack in draft and wants to buy a new pack you ok with that? Where is the line drawn. I am going to open X packs til get a bomb to win a draft. You can't do this on MTGO and you should not be allowed in paper.
