    Would be my top choices.

If I could find the right shell I'd play Jace + Worldfire.

If you drop Warzone the turn after you empty the warrens, it might be good.

So I've PM'd Hellsend (last night). I actually didn't know they had finished their game till then. So in the event that he does not get online today, what is to happen?

Ok, so this deck came about when I was looking for ways to win by turn three. This is by far my most successful attempt, and when it wins it just demolishes the opponent. The advantage to this deck is that it doesn't just sometimes win by turn three, it also has a backup plan if that goes sour in that it ramps up to the level where it can hard cast miracles and wolf-run for continued pressure.

Definitely one of the more fun decks I've played.

Note the lack of Rancor and high cmc creatures. The deck is about flashy buffs to small creatures. If you run Rancor, it doesn't help your creatures fight in the long run and is slower than miracles. If you run high cmc creatures, you'll miss the turn two miracle activations.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with DrWorm here. Also, where are the PtE? No love for Qasali Pridemage?

You're actually spending 8 mana and who knows how many turns to do this. I always enjoy scepter because if you play it with 4 mana available you force a 2 mana instant through that turn. Either that or it's coming next turn. On a stick...

I'd even say that Rakdos Charm is maindeckable. You beat most forms of combo in modern just by playing it, not to mention it handles gifts-rites pretty well. It also gives reach against decks that run creatures. It's got utility against everything. Much better than Azorius Charm.

So, it has to read: Counter target spell? And be legal in Modern?
Not even hybrid is a weird restriction. Chalice of the Void. Closest to playable I can think of (admittedly not exactly what you're looking for).

If you end up playing WUR NME Delver, Emerge Unscathed might actually be playable.

Have you tried Flame Jab as a 1 or two of? It makes your lands potentially be fodder for NME and also removes a lot of troubling 1-toughness creatures your opponent might have with ease (thereby allowing you to get through with NME).

I think 4x Flusterstorm is a must with NME decks, but I could be wrong. At least it's better than Gigadrowse imho.

The problem with Jarad's Order is that it puts you in BG as its only advantage over Gifts (which puts you in U). The disadvantages include a lack of flexibility and the inability to be cast at an opponent's EOT. The Necrotic Ooze interaction is more colored mana heavy and if you aren't running U, griselbrand's ability gets a lot worse.

I'm calling it here and now: Cyclonic Rift is the best Overload spell printed in RtR. Although you probably won't be able to get to 7 mana often, when you do it's incredibly deadly and when you don't it's still just about as effective as Echoing Truth against non-tokens. I'm not saying that it could have the staying power that truth does, just that it's going to be the farthest that Wizards will push Overload.

Underworld Connections is pretty bad TBH. I recently thought that Wind Zendikon was a good card (an aside, but bear with me here). It wasn't. Connections situationally gives you a better draw engine than Arena and even then it's going to be adding even more mana and time to what amounts to sinkholing yourself for a worse Bob. Seriously, why would you go for cute interactions with this before running 4 Bob. And when you run 4 Bob, why would you run this?

I'm liking Lotleth Troll more and more because let's face it, regenerate is awesome, it's in Abrupt Decay colors, and gy hate is at an all-time low. That means that I'm gonna test it with Squee and friends very soon (*now actually*)

  • posted a message on [Single Card Discussion] Worldly Counsel
In control, worldly counsel is far superior. Generally you shouldn't be casting these turn two, you should be countering their spells. Even then, just running otherwise useless ravnica lands to get the effect (as 1-ofs) is pretty darn good. Sure, you take an extra two if you're trying to search the top 4 turn 2. Then again, late game you dig deeper which increases the quality of the card substantially.

I say it's useful in a blue control deck with at least 3 colors. The problem is finding one of those decks that doesn't want delver. Basically, instants/sorceries have to be outclassed by some other kind of control element for blue control to not be delver.

Snapcaster makes this able to be recurred, plus it flips delver which are two advantages over hell's thunder. Now we just need some good cards that utilize a certain mechanic from return to ravnica and we should be golden. :p You know what I'm saying, but I can't put it into words without getting a warning.
