Don't want to be that guy, but your meta has to be really small if Riku with Genesis Wave or spellslinger are considered different takes on this popular general.
The Azorius storm deck however I can't even imagine.
You know this... isn't a control deck, right? And that it's designed as a glass cannon one-trick-pony combo deck? Speed is the chief asset and safety is not guaranteed every time. I believe Lithl is building a more controlling version that actually can let Melek sit out on the battlefield for a turn or two; you might want to look at that in stead of the one that either wins or dies equally fast.
I know this isn't a control deck
But I disagree about it being a glass cannon combo deck. The one-trick-pony part I agree but can't accept, I will find a way around that.
To clarify I am not looking for a version that can stick Melek for 2 or more turns, I like the consistency of this strategy specially the part about stacking the whole deck, I'm adding control elements as a way of winning regardless of board state (they also aren't dead cards before the combo turn).
Chain of Vapor can be used at EOT before the combo turn, it can also be stacked with Pact of Negation behind it if you need to use it and have Melek still on the field, depending on the hate you need to remove it might be the last card you see with Melek, but at wich point it won't matter anymore cuz you're at critical mass with Past in Flames in the yard and floating tons of mana.
This is all assuming you have Pact of Negation and Chain of Vapor in your hand before you combo off, which is far from a guarantee.
No, this is assuming you intend to cast Melek and combo in the same turn.
I mentioned Chain of Vapor at EOT as an example of it being usefull even when drawn, just like Pact of Negation is when protecting the combo.
When you need to bounce something in the middle of the combo, like versus Elesh, Chain of Vapor"can also be stacked with Pact of Negation behind it if you need to use it and have Melek still on the field".
There could be a place for Chaos Warp, which can theoretically deal with pretty much everything through stacking the library, putting Chaos Warp and Pact of Negation on top, and hoping for the best. Chaos Warp is also easily cast from all the Red rituals, unlike every other bounce spell ever, so maybe that's the best choice.
The plan B is Comet Storm. Insurrection could be dozens of other cards, but it has some sort of utility value (sometimes someone just spits out half their deck really early and you can cast an early Insurrection) and it puts all those goblin tokens to use somehow.
Forgot Chaos Warp I like it in here, it's pretty crappy otherwise, as a control card.
Comet Storm, huh...
...
Soooooooo... you got nothing. If you don't get to stack your deck or stick Melek that is.
This bothers me a little. Damn, having no creatures is cool but sure is limiting, thankfully limitations lead to creativity.

I don't completely trust Turnabout to work the way it should so I don't run that, but that also means cards like Crash, Pulverize, and Fireblast are options, too.
What do you mean with "the way it should"? Turnabout is versatile.
Chain of Vapor is the generic hate supreme. Instead of destroying all artifacts or something, you bounce any permanent that deters our gameplan after bouncing any artifact that you can replay for storm count.
I playtested a version very similar to this one with Goblin Charbelcher as another kill card and to my surprise it ended being quite relevant in my very 1st game, I'm facing a board state that can kill me next turn including a opposing Elesh Norm no goblins can survive that.
to Gitaxian Probe, even if you have no mana after activating P. Staff you can set up winning stacks by drawing LED and anything else the situation asks for.
Time Stop and Bribery still in for metagame reasons only (too many Eldrazis).
Taking that in consideration I think you have to many resources dedicated to the Tunnel vision combo. Besides that, milling combos are very easy to metagame against if you're not playing online, just a thought.
I'll give another to Cavern of Souls. If there's any Island in a mile radius this card becomes really good.

He can add Snow-Covered Island, Snow-Covered Plains and Snow-Covered Swamp. That with 9 fetches should be enough.
But what could be possibly go out for him is the real issue, he's not doing anything the deck already does, he is a new layer of utility altogether.
With my limited knowledge of it I would suggest Aftershock.
Brimstone Volley is deals a chunk.
XGG, put the counters, etc.

Do you have a plan B besides Insurrection?

After using High Tide, casting Melek, Transmute Artifact and activating Proteus Staff I'm left with only one R in my mana pool.
My choice of stack is Rite of Flame,Seething Song & Gitaxian Probe (the star of the show). Draw Charbelcher and LED, after revealing 20 irrelevant spells I show the Elesh owner a Mountain, behind that mountain Turnabout and Past in Flames and the rest is history.
I enjoyed the deck very much.

Add Entomb into the mix for extra consistency.
Jarad's Orders might be playable.
