    I swing with Falkenrath Aristocrat

my friend casts Restoration Angel and says, "Block"

I have an Orzhov Charm in hand and open mana to play it, can't I kill the angel before it blocks my vampire?

that's really strange to me for some reason. I get it because how you guys have explained it, but it just seems weird that creatures deal the damage simultaneously. I always thought that the active player "lines up" how damage is dealt in terms of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. I guess I just have always misinterpreted "assigns damage" to mean "line up blocking creatures" when it literally means "assign damage creature has to give". thank you.

and decide to block with a 1/1 foundry street denizen and a 3/2 wojek halberdiers

Do both of my creatures die?

Hey Auja, I got my number and password and have looked at WER. Wow, looks complicated.

I just attempted to play around with sanctioned events and in the "Format" box I saw some familiar game types, but could you enlighten me as to what the difference between "Sealed Deck" and "3 Sealed Deck" is?

I've just put in my order for my gateway support kit, too. How long do those usually take to arrive?

Thanks again Auja. I've dl'd the WER but don't have a login so all I can do is look at the pretty login screen after having to install parallels, windows xp, and WER on my macbook air Smile does MTGS have a "thanks" system in place? i need to send you come cookies. om-nom.

Technically isn't there no loss possible as attacking player has 1 card to draw anyway if opponent does something to block enough damage to survive attack? It's when the next draw (from deck containing 0 cards) that drogskol reaver's controller is in trouble.

Don't forget to tag cards. I got banned for not doing it.

You were suspended, not banned, or you'd be in deep doodoo now. ;/ But don't tell users what to do. Tis backseat modding and is not okay. -Woap

So I got my LGS' application in for WPN and we wait 7-10 days. I can't lie, pretty excited. I just have a question about Swiss system tournaments. Is there an allotted amount of time per round? If so, are rounds best of three, one point per each win or one point per each round win? Or play until clock goes off and most wins gets a round point? All these finicky points are something I lack knowledge of having never played anything in Swiss system.

    Quote from Auja Windur
At your current level of TOing you don't have to worry about this at all. It is not mandatory or even recommended for Regular REL tournaments. Anything higher than Regular REL will require a certified judge anyway, and he/she will likely know all that stuff so you don't have to.

You may want to download the following documents from the document center:
    • Basic Rulebook
    • Comprehensive Rules
    • Judging at Regular REL
    • Tournament Rules

I know it seems like a lot, but you don't have to learn it by heart. Just have a look at them. The "Comprehensive Rules" have millions and millions of pages, but the others aren't as bad. The "Basic Rulebook" and "Judging at Regular REL" are very short documents.

That's exactly what I wanted. Amazing. Thanks again for all your time and patience. I wish the Internet was filled with people like you and the others who have been communicating with me here tonight.
