bumpski! Still using the deck and it wipes out the whole table. It hits like a shock wave. No new changes have been made.
So far, have been asked to leave or never play that deck again by 2 stores for being a degenerate deck. Said complainers against are the usual first and second place winners when I don't show up. Hypocrites
Wraith, I briefly skimmed through your comments in this thread and didn't see your list anywhere. I'm assuming it's the stock list in the OP with small adjustments?
What is everybody's take on the inclusion of blue? Would it strain the manabase too much? Does it add enough power to warrant its inclusion?
4 Verdicts main? No thanks. I like the concept of Augur of Bolas, Sphinx's Revelation, and Forbidden Alchemy but at what point do you just decide to go play Solar Flare instead of the incestuous offspring of Solar Flare and B/W/R reanimator...
I'm going to change my previous list posted to swap Toil // Trouble for Sign In Blood. As noted by others, the cmc is the main reason behind the change. Also, I may try to fit another Blood Baron of Viskopa into the list as well.
The one area that is a little clogged is my 4 drop spot but most of the time I don't play Olivia Voldaren until I either don't have another 4/5 drop or after I have 6 mana up.
Rakdos's Return may go SB (which I haven't spent too much time on yet) for either another Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and another piece of removal or just two removal spells. It seems like I always want to play beats unless I'm playing control.
On Falkenrath Aristocrat, it is a fantastic card, but I don't think killing off your creatures is a huge bonus to yourself with this approach. It seems like untapping with Bloodline Keeper is where I'd rather be since I'm not running Blood Artist.
giant growth is a nice pump for sure. Being able to give all your permanents, not just creatures, hexproof is a great thing to have as well as being able to unsummon a troublesome creature if need be
This deck won the WMCQ in Brazil over the weekend so it must be doing something right. I tried a similar list at FNM and went 2-2 just due to poor draws but when it works, it's pretty devastating. Simic Charm was an all star for me
I gotcha, I've tested a mix of resto, reckoner, souls, and vault and I'm not 100% on what I want to do yet with it. Vault on a huntmaster flip is ridiculous tho haha
I feel Slaughter Games is so good that it warrants at least 2 in the main board to fight off the sphinx's revelation decks, against them we need to always have the upper hand otherwise risk not being able to beat them as consistently. However, this is mostly just a metagame call, so plan accordingly.
I think at this point, it's only worth it to play it naming Thragtusk or Sphinx's Revelation. So I consider it a dead card against everything else. Now, technically this isn't the case, because naming board wipes or Reckoner or w/e is always solid, but nothing so drastically changes the match in your favor like nailing Sphinx's Revelation with SG. And without SG in game 1 you still have a chance if you pack Rakdos Return, Garruk and the like. So that's why I prefer bringing it out of the sideboard.
That being said... meta call. If you aren't seeing a lot of Naya or aggro, then this isn't the worst move.
The problem with Slaughter Games right now is that the control decks are starting to adapt to it by playing Witchbane Orb. Having the orb come out completely shuts down both SG and Rakdos's Return leaving the removal suite to Liliana of the Veil, which at this point can be pretty difficult to rely on especially with Detention Sphere.
With things like this in mind, I've found that Acidic Slime is decent to combat orb, sphere, wolf run, and drownyard. Other ideas could be Ghost Quarter, or Vraska the Unseen, but they're a little more limited.

BlK is a MUCH better fit in the deck if you're also running Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Olivia Voldaren, and Blood Baron of Vizkopa. Out of the other 4 drops, I'm testing Desecration Demon and I tired Crypt Ghast but it was kinda meh. I'll probably end up using keeper if I throw Sorin back in as well.

What are you splashing white for, and what are you dropping?

It's a very MU dependant decision. I know that most of the time I don't want to drop my Olivias until I have 6 mana up tho
