Thanks for running this draft, Ult, it was the smoothest one I have ever participated in, and I had an awesome time.

As for the deck list, I will give it a lot more thought and come up with a list at home later.

No new posts means I'm voting brave the sands

I think that between the outlast guys and the high toughness guys we want Brave the Sands, though I could see an argument for windstorm, as our on ways to deal with flyers are archer and Kirin (along with bear punch).

I agree, between the tokens from the hordechiefs and the ascendancy, Rush is a fine card for this deck. My personal favorite token generator with it is Ponyback, but clearly we arent running red.

Wow, a pack with good cards? what is this? I think we take the Hordechief #3, as I like it a lot, but Patrol would also help fill up holes, as it could potentially grow into a finisher if need be.

We don't need a second naturalize, there are not that many enchantments. I think the pick is bonk-kin, as at the very least it's a morph creature, and we can get a bit of black mana to potentially flip it and make it a 23rd card.

Timely hordemate is definitely the card we want here.

Bond kin is very playable off the splash, its at the worst a 3 mana 2/2 that will draw some interesting blocks, and if it does flip its reasonably costed. Besides we do need some bigger creatures. I agree that an ancestor would be tough early, but not with a bit more fixing. Its not bad on turns 1-3.

The thing is, right now we have 1 black source we will be running, along with likely 2 more swamps. At 3 total sources, theres always a decent chance you get 0 of that color, which is not something I want to have happen with an ascendancy in hand. That card is good both early and late game, and having it be a dead card will likely be a loss for us.

By avoiding the land, we also are limiting our picks for the remainder of this pack, as it will be hard to pick up anything thats either black or in abzan colors knowing that we can barely support the 2.5 black cards we are currently running.

We have 4 black cards we are currently playing (Ascendancy, Dead Drop, Krumar Bond Kin, Disowned Ancestor) 2 of those 4 cards are things that we can get away with playing very late (bond kin doesnt have to flip, dead drop) along with an early drop, and a card I think we should never have a dead card due it currently being our only bomb / our way to outlast other decks and hopefully win with 1/1 flyers. So, I am an not changing my vote, as we currently have 2 black sources (and I dont want to run the Sultai Banner), looks like Ult will coin flip this one.

2 color decks in most formats are fine, but I think if you are splashing a 3rd, you always want some fixing. The main differences between those formats an here is that fixing (travelers amulet, shimmering grotto) typically goes late 6-10th pick, and you can focus on more powerful cards earlier. With the emphasis on multicolor decks here, we are unlikely to see lands go that late. I think that while the monkeys are good, they are closer to a lot of other cards (there's quite a lot of green fat), so I'm voting Jungle Hollow. If Jacket wants the moneys I will reconsider my vote.

This pick comes down to either the land or the mandrills, and I still am in favor of fixing. However, I do like delve monkeys, as I would say I am playing them for 4-5 mana every time, which puts the monkeys right on curve for their size. That said, if we're playing black we need lands, and here's a land that helps shore up both colors that are a bit lacking.
