We had a five booster sealed deck, and I was very lucky. I made a black/white deck that looked like:

    1x Diabolic Tutor
    1x Aven Flock
    1x Chastise
    1x Angelic Blessing
    2x Master Decoy
    1x Holy Day
    1x Holy Strength
    1x Pegasus Charger
    1x Skyhunter Prowler
    2x Venerable Monk
    1x Worship
    1x Blackmail
    1x Foul Imp
    1x Bog Wraith
    1x Hollow Dogs
    1x Nekrataal
    1x Spineless Thug
    2x Serpent Warrior
    1x Raise Dead
    1x Plague Beetle
    1x Unholy Strength
    8x Swamp
    8x Plains

Very balanced and very good (for a 5 booster sealed deck), and I won the prerelease.

I use Ultra Pro and Dragonshields. Ultra Pro sleeves are more durable but Dragonshields are better to shuffle.

  • posted a message on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - SPOILER WARNING
Just read the book. My thoughts:

After having read the first two chapters, I was in doubt about Snape. It was very hard to tell which side he was on, and I indeed thought he was evil, even after five years and no hurting anybody. It could be a little trick from the author, I thought as well, to set up suspicions against Snape again just for us to realize he was good this time as well. But the fact that he would be Dumbledore's murderer shocked me. It was the first time I sweared when reading a book. I sweared LOUD. F*CK YOU, SNAPE!

The book was very good, maybe the best so far. But I hated the fact that Snape was one of the main characters (the Half-Blood Prince and murder of Dumbledore particularly). It was a book providing many shocks and tense moments. I couldn't stop reading (read from 8 in the morning 'till half past Nine this evening), and when I was done, I felt like someone Really had died. The people in the books are pretty much alive in the Harry Potter books, I think, and the thought about losing one of the main good characters (and one of my favorites), is... sad.

Can't wait until the 7th book. Sadly, I think I have to.

  • posted a message on Top Ten Keyword Abilities
Umm, my top ten? Well, I don't think I can make a top ten. Let's say top five instead.

    1. Storm. A great keyword ability. Mind's Desire, Tendrils of Agony, Wing Shards, Brain Freeze are all good... some of them are even among the most powerful cards in extended. I have a Desire deck I really love, so this will be my #1.

    2. Cycling. One of Wizards' best decisions were to re-introduce the Cycling ability in the Onslaught block, more powerful than ever. I like spells with alternate options, and cards such as Decree of Justice, Krosan Tusker and Gempalm Incinerator were just like that. Not to mention the Astral Slide and Lightning Rift decks, which based themselves on cycling cards.

    3. Ninjutsu. Not overpowered, not dominating, just flavorful and sneaky. I really like it. My favorite casual deck by far. Messing around with bouncing and replacing with cards like Higure, the Still Wind and Walker of Secret Ways, to plain cruelty with Troat Slitter, Okiba-Gang Shinobi. Combines well with Ravenous Rats and other good creatures with comes-into-play abilities. An improvement over Morph. Sadly, only a small amount of creatures have the Ninjutsu ability.

    4. Fading. Blastoderm and Parallax Wave. Another cool keyword ability, which often needs good planning and much thinking. I really like it, and there are many interesting combos and strategies built around Parallax Wave and Tide.

    5. Islandhome. I will not say "don't laugh". Come on, do it. I think this ability was made for laughing at. Therefore I do, and I like it more than game-winning abilities like Madness or Affinity.

I would use Krosan Tusker if I were you... but I don't think G/W Slide can survive in extended, only last year's standard. I agree with that. Rift Slide is better, actually.

Pierre Canali didn't play Jittes... unless you are not talking about the Pro Tour Colombus last year, of course. But here's his deck that won him that extended PT.

    Lands (19)
    4x Seat of the Synod
    4x Vault of Whispers
    2x Ancient Den
    2x Glimmervoid
    4x Darksteel Citadel
    1x City of Brass
    2x Blinkmoth Nexus

    Creatures (26)
    4x Arcbound Worker
    4x Disciple of the Vault
    4x Frogmite
    4x Arcbound Ravager
    4x Meddling Mage
    3x Myr Enforcer
    3x Somber Hoverguard

    Artifacts (11)
    3x Cranial Plating
    4x Aether Vial
    4x Chromatic Sphere

    Spells (4)
    4x Thoughtcast

    -----------------

    Sideboard (15)
    3x Kami of Ancient Law
    3x Engineered Plague
    3x Chill
    1x City of Brass
    2x Seal of Removal
    3x Cabal Therapy

He runs 4 Meddling Mages of course. In my opinion, every affinity deck should use them. I don't understand his Somber Hoverguard over Ornithopter decision, though. But he surely have reasons for that as well.

Looks nice, but I would have run 4 of Deed, and 3 copies of Living Wish, then sideboard for a little more situation-based creatures (like Silklash Spider, Spiritmonger, Viridian Shaman, Necrataal, Molder Slug) and lands (Boseiju, Who Shelters All). And don't even think about using Iwamori the Open Fist instead of the Baloths. Perhaps Infest works as well.

I think there are a bit too many lands in your deck. Take out 3 Mountains. I think you should also remove the Skirk Drill Sergeants and maybe the Cohorts, replace them with 4 Goblin Sharpshooter, 1 or 2 Gempalm Incinerator or 1 or 2 Sparksmith. Clickslither could help, but that one's up to you.

I must say I don't like Wizards' dissing of Edward either. He has made many good artworks, like the mentioned Psychatog. That art really rocked. Seriously. It's not just because the card is good, but it fits so well to Psychatog, and it is a cool and awesome artwork as well. By the way my favourite artists must be... Kev Walker, Carl Critchlow, Rebecca Guay... and possibly John Avon.
