Even if you don't want to hear about it, Kozilek still better than Ulamog. Since the new legend rule, I see less player play big Eldrazi like Ulamog and Kozilek. Having 3 or 4 Ulamog on a board ruin the game a little bit.
Hello all,
Long time player, first time poster (so be gentle). So I've recently just started playing Edh and think it's a really interesting and great format. The play group I've joined seems to be a much more casual group and because of that it seemed I was the only one who was running spot removal, counterspells, even mass removal. For example, I've had a Rhystic Study out and draw atleast 10+ cards off it because no one delt with it.
So my question is really: In your deck making process, how much do you typically put in that only hinder your opponents? I'm talking spot removal, mass removal, counterspells, even Extract/Bitter Ordeal type effects.
Now obviously Control and combo would have more vs aggro but how much would you say is almost an 'auto-include' in your own deck making practices?
Thank you for your input.
It is the same thing in my playgroup. We tend to not play a lots of spot removal. For sure spot removal and counterspell are necessary if you have combo player in your group.
If your group is casual I don't recommend you to play a lot of counterspell/removal, because you gonna be the first killed.
I have this same problem with my playgroup. I'll win a game, get strip mined five times and mind twisted in the next game, and then the cycle starts anew. I don't let it bother me, however. You should use diplomacy and politics more. use psychology and get your opponents to work for you without realizing it.
I don't think using psychology (or manipulation) with your FRIEND is not the best idea. We talk about friend here, not enemy...
More serously, just have a conversation with your friend could be a good idea.
He was ban in my playgroup before the official ban hammer, he was unhealthy. Since this card is no more in my playgroup, we have see more creativity in the ramping spell selection and that I think is good for the format. I personnaly don't like card that you most absolutely put in your deck because you play X color.
So a good enchantress pillowfort deck is what you need!!
I think Rakdos Rakdos, Lord of Riots is awesome for a 'that guy's deck.
