I want to build long term deck that I plan to foil, some type of control.
I already have Burn and Dredge, and I want a control deck. First I looked at Miracles, but even if they didn't ban anything from it this time, it is a very real possibility from what I can see.
So I wanted to ask, what are other good control decks? There is Shardless BUG, how does it feel against Miracles and meta?
I see a lot of shardless on mtgtop8, but nothing wins tournaments, maybe top8. So won't this be dead end?
Also there are other control decks, like:
Lands - for some reason they don't appeal to me at all, I don't like play style.
Stoneblade - also don't like Mystic combo.
I'd prefer to play something with Force of Will and Brainstorm, and other disruption.
What do you feel, is Shardless BUG potent deck that is worth getting for long term?
Won FNM tonight with Ganz list. Had around 18 people. Was pretty interesting, played against Valakut, Dredge, Burn and Eldrazi Aggro. Each matchup was pretty close, but sometimes I felt invulnerable, when I see opening hand of Lotus, Ad Nauseam, Angel's grace, random scry and 2-3 lands.
There was a surprise when Valakut used multicolor wish and got Lobotomy that can't be countered and removed my Ad Nauseam. Had to beat him down with Laboratory maniac and Simian Spirit Guide.
A year ago I have made a simple life counter application. It was nothing special, but I tried to keep it clean and simple. I succeeded and got some downloads.
A year later after getting some experience in making apps I decided to make a second edition - and here you go.
I'm a magic player myself, so I looked at other applications and noticed what I didn't like about them - often they are too complicated and overwhelming for what I want.
My life counter does only two things - counts life and rolls a die when you need it. There are no excessive options and clutter on screen. It also looks nice in iOS 7 style. It works on iPhones, iPods and iPads.
It looks very neat and simple, like google. I'd suggest adding:
- A "Add Poison Counters"/"Add Commander Damage" option
-"Add another player" option (for multiplayer)
-I believe the drawing board doesn't have an Erase/Clear option
-A way to name the players so that it isn't just "me" and my "opponent" (more relevant in multiplayer)
Thank you for suggestions.
There is a way to clean a board and that is by clicking new game on first screen.
Also, you can scroll the drawing board with two fingers. A little arcane knowledge.
Version 1.1 released, fixed the name of app and set starting life to 20 instead of 19 (was a bug).
If anybody uses my app, please post here, I would love feedback.
This release has few bugs, most notably starting life at 19 and wrong app name under icon.
Those problems have been addressed with a patch that is already being reviewed by Apple.
I have released a first version of my life counter today.
You can check it out here - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/life-counter-mtg/id595223802?l=ru&ls=1&mt=8
And it is free with no advertisments and in app purchases.
Main points are that it is simple, not clogged with buttons.
It also has drawing mode, where you can just draw life points with your finger.
Feedback will be appreciated.
My friend is holding some drafts from time to time and we have trouble with making pairings and so on, by hand it is tedious and time consuming and regular PC is not available.
Maybe someone has seen any software that does that?
E.g. you enter players list, it arranges who plays with whom, and then you enter results, and then makes new pairings, shows standings, etc.
I'm a new iOS developer and I started making an app for life counting in iOS.
I am not satisfied with existing apps, because they have some major flaws:
1. Numbers are too little. You need to seek them on screen, not to say that opponent might want to check out his life too.
2. Numbers are not immediately visible.
3. Function overload. I want life counter, not an interactive database with ability to post to twitter with controls of space shuttle.
4. Often the main function (life counting) is hidden deep in menus. When I load my life counting app, I want it to work right away, without browsing in menus.
Also, the problem comes as you can tap couple of times occasionally and some people prefer writing with pen.
That's why I decided to roll my own, with bridge and schoolgirls.
I think he means that having a permanent discard outlet is a huge advantage, because you can dump next dredrer right after they clear your graveyard with Tormod's Crypt or Relic of Progenitus. Also Tireless Tribe blocks like a champ.
I have played in local event for 90 people with Dredge deck, played it first time ever and did 4-2-1. So I have decided to get a deck for myself, first I will have no LEDs but later I will get them. So I think, maybe instead of Faithless Looting I should play Burning Inquiry? Why nobody plays the card? It looks awesome to me, since after 1-2 land drops our hand is mostly irrelevant.
Also, considering Dread Return targets, I'm thinking to main board Angel of Despair and Flame-Kin Zealot, but I would really like a draw creature, or is it an overkill? Are they ever useful?

I'd love to receive some suggestions on what can be improved.
