You need 4 drops. T1 memenite, t2 plunge into koth. I've done that, and it's fun. Hero of oxid ridge helps alot. I would also recommend running goblin arsonist.
4 Drop needed? Good point. I just think that this place does not belong to Hero. It will be rare times we have 3+ Creatures on board to its Battle Cry make the diference.
I am currently looking at Gorehorn Minotaurs. Its 5/5 can be pretty durable and do some damage, maybe even more than Hero.
The results made me quite happy. Infernal Plunge + Geosurge can do great thigns putting some big monsters on early turns. The thing a like most here is variaty of fatties you can drop. Urabrask for speed, Titan for removal of blockers and the Dragons for some raw damage.
Other thing i like to point is the flexibility of the 1 drop spot. There are some creatures that can fit in there perfectaly.
I would like to hear what do you think. Improvements are welcome.
I like the idea, i have been testing tho and it just seems really inconsistent and unreliable.
Unreliable. Not that much. I think this deck is a good base, it just need some more work to shine. Will try some things here and i will report what i saw and did.
I agree that it's all incredibly interesting to me. And when there have been major shifts it's always been talked about, and I trust that this will be too. It just doesn't need a whole article devoted to it every time a shift happens. It's something that ends up being mentioned in broader articles, and I'm okay with that.
I must agree with you. Its a good way to se a story, a flavor. Using deep mechanics to tell how a place is, Innstrad in our case, is such a great idea.
Think about it: If we are seeing White doing something that we cant image/it is not suposed to do, cant you fell how desperate the White must be? Being Human in a plane full of Werewolfs, Vampires, Spectres and Zombies must be hard.
Just one thing to explain/ask. Its Crush vs Manic Vandal, what do you think?
I think Crush can act better most times, as i can use it to counter something and add counters to the Shrine.
I think its better than before(i can be wrong), but with this version i won more games than before.
Now i don't have a clue on how to fill the rest o the sideboard.
I was thinking on somethink that helps me to remove Leyline of Sanctity, because it hurt my strategy so much.
I realy like how to deck improved from the last version. The i think i possible change is the Shinre of Burning Rage and all the Sideboard. But before i do that i will use it in some matchs an see what happens.
@slowreactor
I didn't quite get what if a MU, so i didn't catch the idea of your suggestion.
Hello there.
I started playing magic a week ago with the New Phyrexia Intro Pack called Feast of Flesh and this is my first try on making a Deck, or modfying the Intro Pack i have.
Now i will explain the overall idea about the deck.
I wanted to make a mix of Direct Damage spells with damage coming from using Fling or Artillerize with Caustic Hound and Blistergrub, while they are on battlefield, to do the Spell damage + damage from sending this cards to graveyard.
Now for the sideboard. I used the sideboard for 2 objectives: 1. Enhance more direct damage or damage via creature death, 2. Counter some specific tactics, Manabards for a Land Heavy deck and Scrapyard Salvo for Artifacts heavy decks.
Thats it. As it is my first try, it have a GREAT chance of making huge mistakes. Hope you help me.
One last question: How can you say a deck is competitive?
Like T1 Mountain -> Memnite - > Infernal Plunge -> Brimstone Volley for 5.
I think is a good "back up" plan.
Ring is good as it works as removal for some creatures too.
Naturalize is good beucase its instant speed to counter Ring.
I would go with Naturalize as you can counter Ring before it affect the Shrine and thus removing the counters...?
Good question. If my Shrine gets target by a Ring and its exiled, when it come back it will have the same number of counters?
4 Drop needed? Good point. I just think that this place does not belong to Hero. It will be rare times we have 3+ Creatures on board to its Battle Cry make the diference.
