I just started playing EDH again and run a thrun deck. Its still fun to play. I've gone through most of the new cards recently haven't noticed anything really worthwhile. I did think about trying Nissa, Voice of Zendikar just for the extra fodder, but not sure what I would cut. I really wish some more green land destruction.
I will say riding the dilu horse really throws people off that haven't seen the card. I carry a printed copy of the oracle text, just to prove it works that way.
I just so happen to hear about the Wastes land and just spent the day reading this whole thread. Love Karn as a commander and had to see what updates or new ideas have come along. thanks for the great read

Out of Curiosity, what does Sage of Fables provide that Zamek Guildmage doesnt?
I like the Amphin Pathmage, have to see what to cut. The deck was built before RTR block came out and to have an all blue deck. Sage of Fables costs 1 more but I don't have to activate the +1+1 counter ability. Don't get me wrong I like Zameck Guildmage, even have a deck build around it, but its a different style of build and play than Sage of Fables.
This deck came about while building tribal Pauper Commander decks. It has a lot of draw power, but lacks the punch to really beat your opponent. So any suggestions would be great.
Although there's obviously no issue with Thrun getting countered, I still strongly recommend Cavern of Souls in this deck. There's honestly no reason not to run it.
I actually disagree, there is really no need for it in this deck. Let my opponent counter one of my mana dorks. If Cavern of souls work on other types of cards then it would be worth it, but really its just a colorless mana producer. Thrun just wants to come out get bigger and smash face.
If an effect like that of Leyline of the Void prevents cards from being put into your opponent's graveyard, the process described in the first sentence of Helm of Obedience's effect will never stop. Your opponent's entire library will be exiled, even if X is 1.
Oops my bad, I must of forgot to add Bear Umbra. sword of vengeance is in there because I haven't been able to get fire and ice. Sword of body and mind actually came in handy twice. having that extra token a few times really help save me.
There's another Commander Tournament at the end of March, that I plan to attend. Going to try it out again and see how it goes.
At the last one I only saw 3 artifacts the whole tournament and they were all creatures. they were never anything to worry about either. Hopefully the next event my games go a little faster.
