I don't think red has enough to support this type of deck. I think green is almost an auto include because of the ramp available, which is important if we don't hit the Heartless. I also think Diabolic Tutor should be at least considered. White is very good as well with Unburial and Sun Titan. I am not a fan of blue, but the Grand Architect build is interesting. I think a BGW build would be very interesting...
Someone brought up in another thread that Gutter Grime is a really fantastic win condition in a deck like this. If you are chugging the Glissa/Myr combo it's really potentially brutal. I might throw one in for yucks.
That is pretty brutal, but I'm not sure that this deck as room for it and if it would want an expensive enchantment over an expensive creature it can more easily abuse. There are a quite a few big fatties with interesting abilities (Moldgraf Monstrosity, Liege of the Tangle, Platinum Emperion, Sheoldred, Whispering One, etc..).
And there are at least 4 threads around Heartless, all with different color combinations, so some ideas will overlap. Such as, Mirran Crusader could be a big pain in the ass.
Trying to figure out the best removal package, but that is meta dependent (Victim of Night is an option as well). I don't think Viridian Emissary is needed because if you have Heartless Summoning out, then you don't need to the extra ramp that it provides. Phyrexian Rager has much greater utility, as it is a 1/1 body plus a card for 1 life and B, which can't really be replicated by a similar spell early on (Bloodgift Demon mid-game) like Emissary can with Rampant Growth.
I think BG is the best color combination for Heartless. Should we be using Diabolic Tutor as well to act as Heartless 5-8? We can ramp to Tutor turn 3, which seems pretty good, and gives us fetch options later in the game if we need an answer.
And we should call it Rockheart, or Heartless Rock, or something. Decks need a name damn it.
Going to add an extra Lily, just for that guy. Also, I noticed my Board was 13 cards, so more working space.
You say Darksteel Sentinel is good, correct? I'll take out an Alchemy and use him as a 1-of. The "surprise!" aspect only works if they don't know its in your hand, I believe. I really only want to see 1 Forbidden Alchemy per game to begin with, to be honest...
-1 Forbidden Alchemy
+1 Darksteel Sentinel
+1 Liliana of the Veil (SB)
+1 Dissipate (SB)
23 lands? Yeesh. I would think 25 would be the minimum for this type of control deck. Only need 1 Army of the Damned I believe due to flashback, and I'm not sure Liliana is better than another land. Take those two out and put two more lands in. Also, I think 2 Nephalia Drownyard is enough. Can't really comment on some of your other choices as they seem to be personal and I haven't done alot of testing with post-Zed U/B control.
As opposed to the more blue oriented Zombie Mill strategy, this is a (poor) attempt at a U/B Zombie mid-range aggro-control deck (which may or may not need blue). Sideboard is pretty barren, I know there are other good cards (Skinrender, other new cards that I have ignored for whatever reason), but this is just a starting spot. Comments are appreciated.
Pro-token/anti-Ratchet Bomb, yes? Does this absolutely hammer all of the Scars block based decks that were looking to blossom after Zen block rotates, or am I reading this thing wrong.
Edit: Activated, static and triggered...I need to pay more attention.
There was a rando 2/2 2cc zombie in the spoiler. Better wait until there is a better zombie. You should also be running Skinrenders....
Yea, he is good, take out some Moan's or something (don't wanna)? I like Gringrim just because, and I think all of the other creature counts are spot on. Trim some Dismembers/Mana Leaks/Doom Blades?
But yes, Skinrender is good, and he was on my mind when I put the deck together...will try to squeeze him in. Hope we get a rock solid 2 drop zombie. Zombie Bear ain't cutting it (the 2/2 for 1B dork common, not the Diregraf Ghoul, which is great).
U/B land is a ginormous letdown at the moment. Unless there is some unrevealed Zombie recursion that makes this really good, it won't be going in my U/B Zombies I'm hoping to build.
Prey Upon is nice removal for green, and the Vampire can get out of hand quick.
U/B mid-range aggro-control...hoping there is a solid 2 drop creature yet to be revealed. Turns out U/B Zombie land doesn't look to great in this deck, so I removed for now.
