Favorite Playstyle (Aggro, Midrange, Control, Combo): Any works, except melira pod combo
How Competitive (For Fun, Local Tournament, MTGO, PTQ/GP): MTGO
Favorite Cards/Colors: Favorite is Green but I like all colors
Budget: Depends on the purchase, willing to purchase staples, but not willing to spend a lot on niche-deck specific cards.
Staples Owned: Set of Goyfs, Set of Karns, all fetches, random assortment of shocklands

Currently running tron, finding the online meta very anti-tron at the moment so looking for a different deck to swap to/from tron when the hate gets too much. Was looking at either Jund or RUG tempo, but would like further input on how those 2 fair against the meta in general.

I mentioned in the primer that a good way to deal with this problem is by siding in Leyline of Sanctity + Nevermore. If you resolve a Nevermore naming their bounce spell, then your Leyline is safe and they can't combo off.

I tried that but as Lectrys mentioned, they have multiple bounce spells at their disposal. And it actually doesn't prevent them from going off. They can still ritual /past in flames to cantrip out the majority of their deck to find their different bounce spells to kill you.

Silence/Angel's Grace on the other hand sounds like awesome tech. Gonna try it to see how it turns out.

I was wondering how you guys sideboard against UR Storm (Ascension/Past in Flames). I've tried rule of law/leyline of sanctity/ethersworn cannonist but it always seems to get bounced during the turn they go off. I've seen people mention tormod's crypt/relic of progenitus, but when would you pop that?

I understand that Tree of Redemption provides more life, but in the matchups that you side in tree, is waiting till turn 4-5 to be able to get the life fast enough vs getting the life on turn 3-4?

Sorry about the monetary thing though.

In regards to Tree of Redemption, is there a situation where it is better than bristle boar? (or that 3 CMC beast that sacs for 4 life) I don't want to spend money on the tree when a common could possibly be better in most situations.

    Mono-red
Boar nets you +6 life (4+anything u block or removal they use to remove it)
Tree - resets your life to 13, takes a turn to use, 1 mana more, hero of oxid ridge runs through it.

    G/W Tokens or Humans
Boar again nets you +6 life and acts as a blocker for 1 power tokens. O-ring proof (usually whites only removal)
Tree can repeatedly block, O-ring Vulnerable, 1 mana more, 1 turn to activate but again resets your life to 13.

Control matchup / Mirror / Solar Flare / Any slower matchups
    You don't side either.

Am I right in thinking that people are just using Tree of Redemption as a new goodie syndrome?

No budget discussion allowed - in this case meaning any card choice discussions that are based on card shortage. The goal around here is to come up with the best possible deck, and monetary issues have very little to do with accomplishing that.
