Do you know how much money I spent on D&D? I even quit when 2nd Edition was released. God help all the players that continued to buy all the D&D stuff over the years / rules updates. That represents thousands of dollars spent.
Magic is not a cheap game but at least the cards I have are always playable unless they are banned. Tough **** if you can't afford Underground Seas or JTMS, neither can I.
I've bought a number of these over the years. Some hits, some misses. I always know what I'm getting into and the risks I'm taking. I've spent over $100 and basically lost money but I've also spent $30 on a hunch and gotten a mint Tabernacle (it was only worth about $65 at the time) and a bunch of other mint English Legends and Antiquities. I usually study whats being offered and ask relevant questions. Don't bid if the seller is too busy or won't answer questions.
On the other end of the spectrum, I've also sold off the majority of my collection a number of times. Every time, the buyer got more than they paid for money-wise but certainly didn't receive my best cards. I never considered it a scam, it's just that I have a LOT of Magic cards and sometimes need cash. You can kind of tell if someone is actually dumping their collection and it's 1 in 1,000,000 that someone is going to dust off their old Magic collection and not know or want to know what they are losing (especially if they need the money).
The reality is, once you have been playing for a while and you realize that 99% of the printed cards are unplayable, naturally you want to dump all the chaff. That's the sad part about the game. It was so much more fun before being 'turned on' to the competitive side of it.
I, personally have sold off a large portion of my collection several times over the past 20 years and to be honest, looking back, the buyers got a great deal. Why is this you might ask? Well consider this; many high dollar cards today were yesterday's chaff. I can't tell you how painful it is to think of how I sold $100-200 lots which today hold values of maybe double that (for a handful of cards alone).
Anyhow, it's a despicable ploy and it disgusts me how prevalent it is on eBay. Having said this, I've purchased a number of lots advertised as "personal collection". One of note listed Crusade and Royal Assassin in the title but turned out to have about 2/3 mint Legends and Antiquities. I got a pack mint Tabernacle, 3 Resets, 4 Chain Lightning, Falling Star, Elder Dragons, etc., etc. for about $30+ shipping.
So at the end of the day, it's a gamble and you have to play it smart. Read their feedback, ask some questions, know the obvious scams and buy at your own risk. You win some, you lose some.
What I'm more concerned about are the box mappers who dump their sifted packs on eBay. How do we stop that ****?
I have the card in a casual Zombies tribal deck and it's probably the worst card in there because of the card disadvantage. I was just thinking that it could work in my Swans deck where I could draw my whole deck, cast Zombie Infestation, discard 20 cards (including Anger) and attack with 20 power worth of zombies. Then again, there are easier ways to win.
Hey, thanks for the warning but anyone watching the guy play last night knows what I'm talking about. It was the first time I watched him play and I would chalk it up as first impressions where maybe I'm wrong but then to find out the story goes much deeper and that just about every other spectator was in complete agreement, pretty much solidifies my opinion. I'm not trying to just pick on Michael here, I have a strong dislike of anyone that takes this game (that is supposed to be fun) and turns it into a big joke. Look at everyone else in the top 8, smiling, having a good time, not even taking it too seriously, winning/losing with grace, making the experience as positive as possible for both players. Michael played the deck like he just learned how to play Magic and I know that isn't the case. He's a professional so he owes it to his opponent and to himself to act like one.
And he strikes again. At first I wasn't sure he was such a douche. It could have just been inexperience or nerves. But now that I see that he's quite experienced and that he's been known to rush his opponents then milk his own turns, I have concluded that he is in fact a supreme dickwad. Let him come in here and defend himself. Personally, I believe he got what was coming to him even if he deserves much more. What a complete clown. Stop playing magic Pozsgay.
This is over the line, and not just because this person is a member of the Magic community who could, in theory, be a member here.
I still like Vector Asp + Nantuko Shade for pump. I think the problem is speed. How are you going to get say 3-4 specific creatures from you deck into the graveyard right before you want to combo or attack? You still have the spellbomb and whatever else that would give you fits if people used it against you. The fling idea would be cool if you could guarantee 10 infect but that would require Gigantomancer's G + BBBB + R1. Seems iffy. If there was a setup card that said; Instant: tutor for 3 creature cards and put them in your graveyard, then yay. But that's never going to happen.
Well Steve Port was not at the MN Tourney. There were technical issues at MN states so it was best you were not there. A two hour delay while the tounrney got rebuilt because the program crashed. 8 rounds of fun.
I believe I left at 6 in round 6. It was going to be a long day and night.
Yuck! And no AC + several hundred stinky Magic geeks. Well, thank god for that. I'm really more concerned about who made the top 8 than what they played. I don't care much about the MN metagame that always lags about 6 months behind. We always get a more diverse and much less focused top 8 unless we're deep into the set in which case everyone plays the same 2-3 decks. Poor MN, always playing catchup.
Wtf is up with Steve Port? He runs events for like all of the midwest, totally monopolizing all major Magic activities and judge certifications but then totally fails in the communication department. Why is it that WI results are posted immediately after the event but MN is still nowhere to be found? This kind of stuff pisses me off.

Please provide relevant content to your posts. Warning issued.
But...I did have a revelation:
Step 1: Cut a hole in a box
Step 2: Put your junk in that box
Step 3: Make her open the box
Step 4: Profit
...and that's the way you do it!
Maybe use it as a Madness enabler?
That's all I got.

Untap would be okay if you're running red and play Savage Beating, Relentless Assault or Aggravated Assault. It's possible we could see a reprint here somewhere.
