The cycle of lands that Isolation Chamber is a part of all now have the tapping of a color only if they have the counter that the land gives them for perfoming the required task

basically...i'm making an entire block similar to the original ravnica in structure. i started it years ago. i've gotten about 80% of it done. tweaking here and there still needed, but i've been at a loss for a UW mechanic for almost 2 years now. this is just something i came up with yesterday as a need to an end to try to fix this problem.
i didn't think the mechanic wasn't that great overall, but i feel like there might have been some wiggle room to make it more interesting on paper.

If the revealed cards converted mana cost is less than the card shuffled by Tighten The Grip, that player may cast that card without paying its mana cost. If not, that player puts that card into their hand.
Assail— If an opponent controls five or more lands, Tighten The Grip also deals damage to target player equal to the revealed cards converted mana cost.
I still want to keep it at 3 mana. i took out any permanent being targetable and the ability for the opponent to get whatever the card was, whether or not they could cast it for free with the cards ability.

basically...i'm making an entire block similar to the original ravnica in structure. i started it years ago. i've gotten about 80% of it done. tweaking here and there still needed, but i've been at a loss for a UW mechanic for almost 2 years now. this is just something i came up with yesterday as a need to an end to try to fix this problem.
i didn't think the mechanic wasn't that great overall, but i feel like there might have been some wiggle room to make it more interesting on paper.
