Is now a good time to buy Teferi Hero of Dominaria? Or will waiting until the end of September be better since it's rotating out of standard?

Also, Stoneforge Mystic has gone from $70, to $60, to $55 in less than 2 days. What the odds it goes below $40 again?

  • posted a message on Pauper - Is it possible that in influences prices?
Pauper was once a thing where I live and they had a shop that have pauper tournaments on Sundays. This doesn't happen anymore.

I have pauper a deck and recently went through all my cards to get what I have for pauper decks. I will now be buying the rest to complete several pauper decks. My logic being, I don't go to the shops anymore to play modern and don't have much interest in playing in GP's or SCG Opens anymore. I'm selling my modern decks slowly due their price level and the constant threat of reprints. But I still have friends that I play magic with and this is where pauper comes in.

I mean seriously, I put modern Tron together during Innistrad. How can I keep that deck now when I only play modern 1-2 time a month. The deck is worth so much money it is downright foolish to keep it, just to watch an Eye of Ugin, Burnwillows, or Karn reprint. I was pretty butt hurt when Wurmcoil was reprinted. I just don't know if I can go through that again.

So I will focus on Pauper for now. So the power level is similar and I can play with friends.

  • posted a message on Clash fo Clans Issues
Hey guys, want to get some opinions about Clash of Clans, from those who play the game competitively. If you just play casually, or did for a short time, your probably wont know what I'm talking about.

I have a clan that is pretty competitive. We left out old clan due to stubborn leaders, so we have about 30 players with 100% participation. We started off going 50-0-0 and had control of pretty much every war, even if we were miss-matched against a stronger clan. Then on war #51 we get paired against an Indonesian clan that blatantly cheated using Xmod. We see xmod from time to time but it was never a serious issue. This war they exploited the mod to the point they had a very clear advantage. Due to us losing I got my first taste of Supercells customer support.

Is there any way to get in communication with a supervisor with this company or a game developer? I took a video of the cheating and made details as to how they cheated. After giving the information to supercell customer support it was clear they don't give a crap and nothing was going to be done about it. It's probably a waist of time to begin with, but this whole thing has really opened my eyes. There is no reason to take that game seriously anymore and put the time in to build a good clan that wins every war. You will eventually get paired against a clan that cheats and you will get wrecked. Has anyone had any success with complaining to supercell? From what I can see, none of the players in question have been banned, suspended, or anything. I requested that they forward to the game developers to have that war loss removed from out war log. But for some reason they have to forward all the information to the game developers, but knew for sure that this wasn't possible. Its a bunch of garbage. Just lied and blanket messages that they send to everyone.

Don't play this game from scratch guys if you haven't already started.

Why is Underground Sea tanking in price so hard? I have recently been selling some magic cards and it looks like they are selling for $175 or so. If I want to get rid of 2, should I sell asap or wait a while and see where they end up?

Thx Juicy J for the info. I did a quick search online and it seems safe for ebay sellers. But i just figured someone here has dealt with this before.

My listings say no refunds are accepted so lets hope that dont come back to bite me.

I recently sold 2 Savannahs, revised edition, on ebay and a guy purchasd them from me. He made payment in full and sent a message asking that the cards be shipped securely in a top loader and shipped with tracking. Sounds reasonable enough.

But then he adds that he uses a re-routing service to have the cards shipped to him in Hong Kong. Assuming as long as I send the cards to his confirmed address through paypal/ebay, I should be protected under seller protecion as long as I ship to his confirmed address, right? The address on ebay looks like this: USF KarFaiChow. In paypal it says confirmed address/eligible for sellers protection.

So not too much to worry about or are there red flags still?
    Thanks!

If you need him pick him up. He wont go down because he has been reprinted several times and the price is fairly stanle. I only see him going below 10 bucks if amulet bloom gets nerffed.

  • posted a message on Should I confront my LGS owner?
I used to attend a LGS that did the same things you explained. Basically, I never buy cards from them anymore. Last time I went through a bunch of their boxes searching for modern sideboard material. I had maybe $10 worth of cards set out and said they were the ones I wanted to purchase. When he added them up if was 3 times as much as I could get them for online on a trading site. Knowing they have done this same thing over and over again I just gave him a long sigh... (I already knew better) and said I wasn't any longer interested in purchasing them. They even tried to ask what I would be willing to pay for them and I had to reply with something similar to, "the bridge is already burnt..."

So basically, I only go to that store for modern events or an occasional pre-release.

I'm a firm believer that you have to be competitive to get my money. I'm willing to spend a little more buying from a LGS since I don't have to search, wait, shipping, etc. But once I see them looking everything up on SCG, they can suffer the consequences. I'll just keep my money and find cards another way.

There is a reason SCG charges as much as they do for cards. A LGS with 20 customers per day has little to do with that.

It just attracts more buyers. Most of the time, you buy cards and must rely on the pictures provided to use your best judgment. But if they offer a return, it gives buyers a little more piece of mind when buying from you.

Me personally, I wouldn't typically be worried about returns because I tend to only purchase something that is really a good deal. Thus, returning a card is not advantageous to me because I will be losing value with spending more money to return a card/find a new one.

Noble hierarch was $20 before Deathrite Shaman was banned. I expect her to fall more and more with pod banned. If reprinted, should fall much more. I wouldn't pick they up for a while.

I wouldn't run 4 Anger of the Gods main board. There are too many matchups where it will be dead as a 4 of. You have all the blockers and life gain in the world as it is. Huntmaster wouldn't be terrible in your build, either.

I would trade them for shocks or ktkfetches. I sold most mine right before ktk got spoiled. Thd ones i have left i dont intend to sell because it basically seems win win just to sell them. Meaning i missed out already so hold on to what dignity i have left and keep them for the pride.

What do you mean you don't want to sell them because it's "Win-Win" to sell them. That seems contradictory.

I feel like I missed out too, which is why I kinda want to sell them for something that may increase in value down the road. (i.e. If I trade a Misty Rainforest for 4 $10 fetches and those Fetches grow to $14 down the road, then I effectively recouped $16).

Hah sorry. When i type on this tablet things i say tend to make no sense.

I mean, I figure it will be better for me to keep a playset of zen fetches then to worry about a $20 gain. Just doesnt seem worth the effort to get rid of them anymore after they fell in price.

Will Ugin, the Spirit Dragon affect Karn Liberated's price? I can see myself cutting an Oblivion Stone and a Wurmcoil Engine to add 2 to RG Tron.
How would it affect Karn Liberated's price? It doesn't replace Karn at all; it replaces other cards in the deck. I mean, just look at the changes you're considering making: You're not dropping Karn to play Ugin, you're dropping other cards. Ugin's a supplement, not a replacement, for Karn.

If it has any effect on Karn's price, it would be to increase it because it could drive more people to play Tron, thereby upping Karn's price.

You make a good point that more people will play tron and Karn could go up because of that. But with Ugin being a good candidate for tron it isn't unreasonable to think it could replace cards in the deck. I mean drawing multiple Karns isn't really a bad thing most of the time but dropping an Ugin can take over a game just as easy. I think he will have a very intimidating board presence, maybe more so than wurmcoil engine. Even if you have to wait another turn.

Maybe a way to drop Karns price a little and not reprint Karn in MM2?
