Got a playset of blood moon(chronicles) out of the $0.25 box but this was before modern and it was what a $1 card? Used to pull all sorts of $0.50-$2.00 cards but I don't have the patience for it anymore and the shops near me now I don't even know if they have such a box. I do rummage through the foil commons/uncommons box from time to time, got 2 foil perilous research(MMA), paradox haze, and a lot of others for $0.25 each.
Last wednesday I went to a draft just for the opportunity to trade between rounds. I wasn't expecting to do well and thus drafted on money and cards I needed. I ended up drafting a pretty decent black white deck with lifebane zombie, mutavault, foil xathrid necromancer, planar cleansing and a couple other decent card that basically payed for the draft right there. Also drafted a couple miscuts for the heck of it. The only pick I made to improve my deck when there was slightly more money in the pack was doom blade over strionic resonator(which I needed for edh etc). That pick probably saved me and I went on to go undefeated and split first/second(we played it out and I won so you could say I got first). I really had gone into the draft expecting to scrub out and drop to go home early, but since I was doing so well I ended up staying all the way through to midnight to finish.
Now I made some questionable picks sure and had to play some cards that traditionally are considered noob picks and pretty bad. I played 2 or three creature enchantments(vampire lifelink one, dark favor) and had suntail hawk in the 1 drop spot. My third round opponent was playing green something and was quite upset when I dropped lifebain zombie turn 3 every game of the match. Afterward he was very condescending and degrading toward me about my picks and complained about "losing to crap". I told him hey man, that's how it goes sometimes, it's part of the game. He said "It's not part of the game it's losing to crap." He made several snide remarks about my picks and was generally being a jerk. I hope he felt a little better when I ended up going completely undefeated. I guess I did draft ok, despite going for money. Overall an enjoyable evening.
So I wanted to get your opinion on this foil Shadowborn Apostle I picked up recently. There is kind of a crease in the foil layer, the card isn't damaged it came out of the pack that way. I traded for it at normal foil SA value just as a curiosity, though maybe I should have asked for a discount as it's playability is in question. You can't really feel the crease from the back so I don't know maybe it's still playable. It's definitely a significant bump you can feel those lines. Anybody seen this kind of error, any guesses as to the value?
I do wish that they had put some of these up at different hours. As someone who works 9-5 I am a bit dissappointed I missed out both times due to work(work that doesnt pay well enough for me to afford these at ebay prices). Oh well, I'm not upset about it I just wish I had been luckier.
Second life counter I've made, can't remember if I ever shared the other one with you guys. This one's for my wife and the first photo is a mockup of the beads I thought looked best but she wanted both rods with red beads so that's what she got. I was having some trouble getting pictures to show the depth. The whole thing is about 35 cards deep due to how big the beads are but the 3d portion is only 12 cards deep with 9 of those being spacers.
One thing that is to the advantage of those here that still want them, however, is that the site does clearly say "Sold Out". A good number of people most likely think the ship has already sailed and given up.
Technically is says "out of stock" and "currently not available" but yes I agree and am thankful that some people will have given up by this point due to these notes. In fact if not for the confirmation earlier that this mornings sale of them was a glitch I imagine even more people would have dropped out of the running.
If I can't pick these up via the website, I might have to sell some things to buy it off eBay. I wonder how many will be in the restock?
Nobody is sure but if I'm remembering the old thread there were multiple people that snuck in over-orders and some of them even got 2 or 3 over the order limit so I'd estimate there might be 10-15 in the restock. Of course who knows what people not on the forums did, there could be a lot more if a lot of people tried to order multiples and got their orders canceled.
Asked my wife to keep my computer with the auto refresh thing with alarm near her and to buy one if the alarm goes off. Heres hoping that works but she isnt nearly as serious about these as i am so im afraid she wont be vigilant. Get off work in an hour this is nervewracking and they might not even go up soon. There should be at least 5 going up if they stick to their limit and what i remember of people buying multiples from the other thread is correct.
Hmm.. let me rephrase my question then. What's the chance that Hasbro will run a similar promotion next year or start pumping out these ultra-exclusive promos?
I"m guessing it depends on how they view our(the magic playing community) response to the promo. If they think it went over well I think there is a good chance of another similar product in the future(similar in exclusive promotional item not necessarily black on black again).

Mannnn ive been checking in on these constantly since yesterday and i had to do some actual work at work for 20 minutes and they are gone. dont suppose there is any hope of a restock? Maybe they decided to stagger the release of them online? If only. Mannnn if only today had been my day off instead of yesterday.

No confirmation at all, as has been mentioned several times before, just speculation that they may go up tonight. For all we know they'll go up tommorrow or thursday or next week, they could go up at any time or never. The only hints we have are word from people who try to get SDCC exclusives in previous years who have said when those did go up they went up at midnight.
I hope it ends up in the exclusives section. It'd be a giant trolling on us all if it showed up somewhere else on the site while we are all refreshing /exclusives. For the record I want this for my collection not to resell, show of hands anybody else?
