www.CommanderCast.com is always looking for Commander writers. It is all volunteer as the site provides free content and doesn't make money, but is a great way to get your stuff out there. Email Commandercast(at)gmail(dot)com and let them know you are interested. I write for them (although I am taking a break right now for a little while).
Another problem card is Mimic Vat. A person w/ a vat out can run all your guys through it was they die and nerf Shirei's ability. Although I never point that out in game. I just like to warn other Shirei players that it could happen.
I know this is old news but I enjoy when people laugh as I play Jar of Eyeballs. That quickly changes as I start impulse most or all of my deck and stack it for insane scroll racks or draws each turn.
I personally try to stay away from the only on your turn cards except for Hypnotist and Hell's Caretaker. They are fine cards. I also dislike non-free sac outlets and try not to have to many of them. There are enough discard when goes to the graveyard or comes into play guys that for me those and Hypnotist are enough. The Bone-Reader is ok though if it doesn't impede too much. The Bells seem dangerous and a dead draw without Urborg but I can see their merit.
Debt of Loyalty is a cheap (in mana and in money) way to steal a creature permanently, whether to fling or to use for other nefarious purposes. Finding a situation where something you want is about to be destroyed shouldn't be too difficult.
Possibility. i just got one of those a while back. The card that works the best I have noticed is Echo Chamber. It is pretty crazy. Mimic Vat is another good addition too although it is too expensive for this deck. There are a lot of Threatens that I am not playing. Trying to stay mostly Instant Speed and have ones that work with Sunforger.
I built this as my more fun type deck. It has not tutors in it except for a some basic land tutors and a couple fetches. I had a previous version of the deck and it didn't matter how it was built it was just effective to get Primetime and Avenger every game or genesis wave and things like that. So I wanted to get rid of a lot of the crutches and tutors to free up more space, play something different, and vary the experience. I wanted the deck to be good at getting creatures back over and over, create huge advantage when things die, and just be a lot of fun to play. There are times I can sac a creatures and get 4-6 tokens into play just for doing it. I cast Martial Coup 1 time and ended up with over 30 tokens of various types (Spirits, oozes, insects, soldiers). It really is a lot of fun to play. Again I am trying to keep this deck tutor free and mostly staple free. I know that there are plenty of staples in here but it still functions pretty much as a fairly unique type of deck. I tried Mycoloth, the penumbra creatures, and perilous forays and just was not happy with them. I welcome any ideas.
A cheap, pretty janky, but hilarious creature to fling with Brion is Scourge of Geier Reach. Especially if someone else is playing Tokens.
I've also wanted to use Jar of Eyeballs in Brion, to help make up for the lack of card drawing in these colors. Maaaybe even Séance (if I can't find enough reliable creature recursion).
Whoah, why have I never seen Book of Rass before?? That seems pretty awesome here!
I had jar of Eye balls in for a while. It was just kind of iffy. I think if this was a optimal/not Budget Brion Deck it might be a lot better. I had Rapacious One and Emrakul's Hatcher in here and they worked really well w/ the Jar but other than that it tended to not do much.
Thought about some of those cards. Many were on the big list or in the deck previously. Archon of Justice is still one I would like to add. I actually cut a bunch of stuff to add all the "sweepers" because the deck always started off well then got crush by to many creatures late game. The deck started off as a $20 deck and I have been slowly adding value to it. I really would like to keep it around the value that it is now although i would like to add Rings of Brighthearth which would be the most expensive card in the deck. I think I want White Sun's Zenith as well but I need to play with it in it's current state a little more. Thought about Bloodshot Cyclops as a second brion as well.
Trying to make a cheap but very playable deck just to rub it in peoples faces when I beat them. Initially a $20 joke deck that endeared itself to me and I have been trying to make it super cheap and still good.
In playing our Shirei deck, I have noticed that it almost always wins by comboing out through a Contamination lock, STAX lock or taking infinite turns with Magistrate's Sceptre + Coretapper. However, having a way to consistently hand out damage, even in small doses is never a bad thing.
I win so many games with Lightning Coils. If it sits out for 1 turn cycle it is not uncommon to to get 11+ 3/1 hast dudes. That adds up fast.
When my deck was a Poison deck it added a good deal of power to the deck. There are several 1/x poison guys and I didn't even run them all. Then to supliment them I had Contagion Clasp, Contagion Engine, Mortarpod, Thornbite Staff, Throne of Geth, and for a while hatred. I can still do some oc the tricks with my current deck like hook Thornbite staff to Flesh-Eater Imp, Plague Myr, or Inkmoth Nexus and ping poison people, sac a dude untap ping, repeat. It is pretty amazing with Ashnod's Altar, making the activation free. Add in some proliferate and some Dross Scorpion craziness and things can end real quick. It a few times I even assembled the infinite machine that does nothing unless you have a significant counter on something: Throne of Geth + Workhorse + Pentavus/Triskelavus + Dross Scorpion = infinite Proliferate or Infinite counters on something. Good Times. If you go Poison with Shirei Whispering Specter is pretty much the greatest thing ever.
This is what my deck currently looks like if anyone cares. Not sure how content I am right now about it. Recently just converted it back from being a poison deck which was pretty fun and good but was less control oriented.
I'm interested in adding more infinite combos to the deck (a few of my friends are very competitive). I know about the Myr Retriever +Mindslaver combo, and the Hell's Caretaker combo, what are the others?

It kills Generals too when people play them out naked w/out other creatures.

Seance seems solid. i ran Mistmoon Griffin for a while. I really like Sigil of the New Dawn and Marshal's Anthem. Solid recursion.
Book of Rass is awesome. It is a Greed everyone can play.

Seems bad unless you rebuild your whole deck around getting it out and then you run the problem of trying to get it out.
