Great post Charlie! So you prefer doom blade over devor flesh. My current remv suite is 4 heros downfall, 2 ultimate price, 2 bile blight, and 2 devour flesh. I have recently just changed it. It used to be 3 devour flesh, 3 bile blight, and 4 downfall. I will most likely go back to that because I do t like the ultimate price main. Why do you prefer doom blade over devour flesh main. Is that a meta call??
That's the thing. I'm from buffalo,ny and the GP is in Cincinnati. I don't know what the meta will be like. So the question is going into an unknown meta which creature is better?
Well now you guys are sending me mixed signals! I guess I am just going to have to test both. Is it feasible to board the 4 specters to possibly switch gears ? Or is that pushing. It seems like a waste of 4 spots in the board. The last 2 tournaments had mono black devotion as the winner. The GP winner had 4x specter and the starcity winner had 4x lifebane zombies. I don't know which is better.
I apprecaite the insight charlie you make a very good case for the specters. And with that in mind I'm leaving the specters in. I am however going to increase the lifebanes from 3 to 4 in the board. He is very vaulable a lot of matches, especially thr r/g monsters matchup.
I'm glad we are talking about this! I just signed up for GP Cincinnati and have been running mono black for a good 3 months now. I like both of these decks but dropping nightveil altogether seems a little rough. Granted I have 4x life banes coming out of the board to help fight the G/R matchup. If you were leaving tomorrow what deck would you bring to the GP?
Another thing, did Nam have 2 watery graves in the main to help with his 1x notion thief? What do we think of a 2x temple of deceit, 2x temple of silence split?

Very well played gentlemen. Thanks for all the honest answers. How big is tidebinder mage in this deck? Can it be replaced with counters? The UU casting cost help out enormously with devotion. I think you guys are correct leaving the deck the way it is.
I know this suggestion is going to br off the grid but, what does everybody think about droping one of our 1cc ( cloudfin or judge's familiar) creatures for counter spells? So for example taking out cloudfin raptor for 4x dissolve. The scy would definately help in the long run. Would this help our matchups late in the game or does this hinder the synergy for the deck? What does everyone think?
I love your interaction on this thread TOG! So what finishers do we have in esper?? Is blood baron considered a finisher?? We already pack 2 atherling. I do like the 1/3 guy who scry's for 2. He's really really close to augur of bolas, minus the card draw. Can we come up with a mock list?? Does the blue God make the esper control list?? Thoughts?
I have been a part of this community for over 14 years, almost since its inception. I have completed almost 1,000 trades on this site and have been a a part of countless threads throughout the years. As I write this I just sent out my end of another trade. Sadly it will be my last. I want to give a HUGE thank you to Feyd for all of his help throughout the years.
