There are still plenty of LGS that are selling at MSRP or "Slightly" above (i.e. 60$ flat with tax included). Some stores are going to milk it FWIW anyway, no matter what the product so stay strong and find somewhere close!

    Hi there!

To start, I require D/C on every single order I purchase or send out. This is to protect all of us in the deal, and allows us to know where the item is at all times. It is not expensive to do this through paypal, and if you need help with it (it costs 1.64 to send it with D/C) please let me know first, and I will easily guide you through it.

All of my buy prices are for NM cards. If your isnt NM, please let me know. I am negotiable, so if you have some of these cards and you feel the prices arent fair, then please, let me know.

    Standard Foils:

    $25 Deathrite Shaman x3
    $12 Abrupt Decay x3
    $08 Dreadbore x2
    $15 Steam Vents x4
    $20 Hallowed Fountain x3
    $20 Temple Garden x4
    $08 Detention Sphere x3
$07 Supreme Verdict x3 (pack foil)

    Modern/Legacy Foils:

    $90 Thoughtseize x3
    $40 Daze x4
    $80 Brainstorm x4 (Mercadian Masques)
    $100 Flooded Strand x2 (Onslaught)

Modern Masters "limited" print run means its also going to be VERY limited if your local store attempts to sanction a Modern Masters draft or sealed event as FNM. Goyf and the other staples will temporarily flux, but not by very much and not for very long. This set will certainly attract a lot more people into the modern format and as more people join up the demand goes up and it doesn't really stabilize the pricing all that much.

As for the eBay comment - Legacy STAPLES are still going up. Duals are creeping up monthly, and the other rares/mythics are barely creeping upwards (not trending down, unless its in a currently unpopular deck). Modern has fluxed quite a bit in the past couple months due to the large number of GPs and the Pro Tour, it made the demand go crazy (as these things always do once big events happen).

I haven't read through everything here so if folks have this position already I apologize. I'm thinking Goyf and any other staples will remain their current price or may in fact increase in value. My reasoning has less to do with printing of Modern Masters and more to do with the fact modern is being pushed as a FNM sanctioned format. I have noticed an ebay trend in a lot of powerful legacy staples coming down in price while modern stuff is static or increasing in value. Further, like some have stated, we have no idea how many boxes of MM are going to be released so its impossible to tell what percent supply will increase especially if demand increases at a similar rate.

The Las Vegas GP... is going to have an insane turnout. The ability to play a set at a competative level (Likely the ONLY chance also) alone makes it one of the most sought after GPs. I have players at my store, who NEVER play anything other than standard that want to play this.

I expect well over 2000 people there, the demand seems way crazier than the team GP....

That is the one thing that is keeping my slight hopes of a decent amount of product. I would think that GP would be one of the larger, if not the largest, NA GPs.

I have been running an advanced level store for some time now, and not even my wizards rep has any idea how many boxes will be available yet. Any store with a guarentee that they will be getting 100 boxes is totally out of line. There has been no supply information sent out as far as my rep or any other distributor I have talked to says.

Not to say that it WONT happen, but I would be very surprised if a store got 100 boxes of this set.

    Quote from Habbler
My LGS has 2 locations and they are taking 100 pre-orders of Modern Masters. It would appear they think/know that each location will have at least 50 boxes to sell.

    Sigged.

Honestly, if Wizards didn't see this set selling big, I don't know what their excuse is. There will be enough boxes, places selling them for $120 are just doing it because they can, and price gouging. Any claims on shortages are spurious.

The reality is, this set is seeing a frenzy that hasnt really been seen in a while, and due to how supply and demand works, of course prices are going to go up. If distributers are running out of them, then they are going to be driving the price up because ulitimately they are going to have to pay more for them as well.

    Hey there!

I actually run most of the tournaments and singles out of Simi Valley Smile We usually do Standard on Thursday nights and have been getting more people for wed night Standard/Modern as well.

We do hold drafts Tues/Fri (for FNM) always! We love having newer players in the area come by, so stop by again Smile

    Thanks, cippy!

I've also played once at a store in Simi Valley called Hidden Fortress, and I'm going to check out one in Northridge called Game Ogre, also. I'll be sure to check out the one you mentioned, too.

    Quote from Zakman86
    My general trading binder practices:

I keep my non-foil stuff and bad foils in a big white binder, as well as my Sideboard for my Enchantress deck in the last 2 pages.

I keep my English, EDH-playable or better foils in an Orange Monster Binder.

I keep my Japanese foils in a Purple Monster Binder.

The purple binder is only tradable from if you have something I want that will go into it or into an EDH deck. The other binders, I will trade out of, but my needs are rather small generally.

    ^^^ This ^^^

I learned not long ago that having all of the really big money stuff in the same binder as your regular trades is a fantastic way to :

    A) Scare away people that potentially have a couple big things you might want/need for yourself/others

    B) Lose value on trades (Not that I need to gain value, but when you own $50,000 worth of singles in a binder and you are looking through a binder worth $500 the person with $500 often feels like they should get extra value since "You can afford it")

Now I have a few Monster binders! One is a white one with all the standard playable stuff - mythics/rares/some com/uncomm playable foils etc. Easier on the eyes for people who are just looking to fill out their deck. One is a Blue one that has Modern Staples / Higher end Standard Foils that are worth more than $15 each. I dont even usually bring this binder out unless the person I am trading with has the same sort of stuff in their binder. Then there is the Black Monster Binder. This generally doesnt come out. There aren't many people at events in my area who have anything remotely close to what I want to be trading from it, but it does have the Foil Japanese / Beta Power etc in it that I will trade from or I want to upgrade.

Everyone does things their own way, and it really isnt hard to tell when someone is going to be difficult right off the bat. The bottom line here is really - DBAD (Dont Be A Dick). If you are trading with someone who wants value and they arent willing to use a mediary site (like tcgplayer or something) to get all of the pricing for both parties, then it probably isnt worth your time and you can go in different directions. Even though I have a lot of good stuff I don't expect to get an extra 10-20% out of a deal (Unless Im trading a Foil JTMS or something like that for current standard stuff just because they really badly want it and dont care what it takes).

So.... Who wants to trade with me Wink
