    Speculation Gone Wrong

    Quote from TheInfamousBearAssassin »
Extiprate will be $.10 within a week of rotating out, you can quote me on this

As _ (aka DMMBY) said, "Been a lot longer than a week."

I could see the new Jace getting banned in T2 (likely after Shards rotates).

    Quote from Johm000
$60 is way too cheap for Jace. I would fully expect Jace to rise even further, even hitting $100 each. No, I'm not joking and/or being sarcastic.

Still waiting for Jace to crack $100 and be banned from T2...

    Quote from The Ice King
You can quote me on this: Eldrazis will get Jhoira banned as a general...

Still waiting for Jhoira to get banned.

    Quote from CorpT
Running one bad card [Frost Titan] to run another bad card is a terrible idea. Be glad you were able to get anything out of your Frost Titans. They're still terrible.

    Quote from Babbler
[Scars of Mirrodin] is Homelands 2.0.

  • published the article Captain Sisay EDH deck almost done!
The main cards I have left to buy:

    - Gaea's Cradle
    - Savannah (maybe)
    - Yosei, the Morning Star
    - Survival of the Fittest

I can live without the Savannah, but the other cards are pretty much must needs. It's been a bit lame since I've really wanted to get this deck finished, but I've been kinda low on cash all summer long.

I really want to go to a nice EDH event the next time I travel to a tourney and bust out Captain Sisay. She is probably my favorite general :).

I have noticed several people took this funny quote I made from the Warren Instigator speculation thread:

    Quote from Me »
Hell, with that logic, this card seems like fair game, right?

    I die to removal spells:symg::symg:
    Creature - Who cares
    10/1

It still dies to Path, Bolt, Terminate, Doom Blade, and Fallout! That must mean it's fine! Sounds like a printable card to me!!! /sarcasm

Good stuff! "But... but... it dies to removal!" is just simply not a valid argument after seeing all the ridiclous speculations on what could have been. For those who agree with me, I applaud you for that :).

Has been my goal for a while now. Cool

    Just cracked 4,600 posts.

400 more feels like a lot, but it really doesn't. Not when you have card ideas up the ***. LOL.

I can't wait for Lorwyn to rotate out.

I can't wait to see more full art lands.

I can't wait to see the game go back to focusing on less multicolor.

I can't wait to see new cards to break in EDH.

...just some random shizz. Zendikar should be amazing!

Next to Samus and Marina, Vela is one my favorite heroines.

Also, play Jet Force Gemini if you haven't. That game was like the Gears of War of its time :).

Nothing better to do at 1:25 in the morning. Except sleep I guess.

Basically, I only need two more cards:

FOIL Jhoira (coming in the mail soon)

...and then I'll work on hunting down a Mana Crypt since my deck would work soooooo much better with it.

I <3 Jhoira so much. My favorite general by far Smile

Maybe Wizards will throw a curveball on Legacy and pounce on something they had on their watch list all this time...

    Tarmogoyf?
    LED?
    SDT?
Brainstorm?!?! lol they did restrict it in Vintage along with Ponder

It'll probably be no changes, but who knows.

  • published the article I am officially sick and tired of multicolor.
So the Arcana on wizards.com has spoiled a bit of what Alara Reborn will be like by showing in their card that the entire set is going to be multicolored.

After Ravnica block a few years ago, Lorwyn block, Shadowmoor, Eventide, Alara, Conflux, and now Alara Reborn I have seriously become jaded of multicolored cards.

Honestly, it was GREAT to have Ravnica bring multicolored stuff back to MTG after the brokenness of Mirrodin and severely underpowered Kamigawa. I had nothing wrong with Ravnica and I welcomed multicolored coming back.

...but this is just too much. Shadowmoor and Eventide pushed the hybrid mana while providing amazing filter lands and brining back Reflecting Pool. Lorwyn gave us the infamous Vivid lands and 10th STILL has the painlands going.

Alara gave us the theme of "3 color multiclolor" giving us MORE lands in tri-taps. Conflux pushed this even further by reintroducing Domain and pushing super multicolor.

When I learned that Alara Reborn was going to be all multicolor, I literally was sick to my stomach. I have a feeling AR will be a good set, but seriously, how much further should the multicolor theme be pushed? Never before in the history of Magic has multicolor been pushed to the limit like it has in these past few years.

    It's pretty insane.

  • published the article Attention Wizards: Get rid of Mythic Rares IMMEDIATELY.
I have been a vocal opponent against mythic rares since they were first spoiled. I know there are a lot of people who like mythic rares, but I obviously am not one of those people.

When I look at mythics, I do not see a purpose in making them at all. Was it supposed to be made for a flavor standpoint in Alara? If so, it was a pretty major letdown in my eyes. Sets that were designed majorily for flavor reason such as Kamigawa have failed miserably.

If this is not a one-time deal, and Wizards WANTS to keep mythics in Magic, they are making an egregious mistake. What is wrong with the current rarity system of rare, uncommon, and common? It has been excellent for several YEARS and there have not been any real complaints with it.

    Why fix what ain't broke?

Mythics look flashy at first, but then I realized that it basically starts to turn the game into Yugioh's rarity system (which, BTW, is a complete disaster). Again, if Wizards want to just keep mythics in Alara as a flavor standpoint, I'm ok with it as long as they get scrapped promptly afterward.

  • published the article Washington sports teams have officially hit rock-bottom
Washington - winless in college football right now.
Washington St. - they have a win but it was against Portland State. They're defense could quite possibly become the worst defense in college football history.
Seattle Seahawks - Hasselbeck is still plagued with back/knee injuries. Wideout corps are depleted. Did I just mention they lost sack machine Patrick Kerney for the season? They are 2-5 right now, and I don't see them getting many more wins.
Seattle Mariners - 100+ loss season. Yeah...
Seattle Supersonics - Oh wait, they decided to abandon the city and go to Oklahoma City.

Say what you want, but I have not EVER seen one state's sports teams be so unbelievably bad.

At least I get to look forward to the Blazers this season. Good thing I live in Oregon. Smile
