okay, so my question is about the card Angel's Grace. A friend and I were curious about how it worked with general damage. Said friend believes commander damage works like "poison counters" in the fact that the 21 damage is dealt so regardless of if i don't die that turn i will next upkeep. However i believe its just another form of damage and it would take me to "20 gen. damage dealt".
Oh god, I hope not that card would be -terrible- . If it's a G/B version I would much prefer something like this... Granted I know it's prolly not going to happen. The -4 I could see potentially. Garruk being cursed (tainted?) and him being green seems to focus on the over-run type ability. The -2 Would make him playable (can protect himself) and the +1 would help accelerate you at a small cost.
2GB
+1 : Discard a creature card from your hand and search your library for a land card and put it into play.
-2 : Target creature gains three -1/-1 counters and Infect until end of turn
-4 : Creatures you control get +1/+1, Trample, and Infect until end of turn.
3 loyalty
This card is going to dominate the format in certain decks.
T1 BoP
T2 pay 2 life, spawning shell
T3 sac the spawning shell to fetch a baneslayer angel/Urabrask/golem put into play without the fear of counterspells + you have 2/3 mana open still. Even lotus cobra can not give you that much mana advantage on t3, and has the utility of a fauna shaman + elvish piper in one.
i've tried her in a mono white deck, and she was alright, i used some battlecry creatures along side honor of the pure, and mostly her minus 2 ability. her tripple token generator ability is pretty tight, but her other two abilities limit her to certain lists. No stoneforge, no honors, no other walkers, no artifacts(metalcraft) shame its not a one sided ultimate and costs 7-8 instead.
Sideboard:
4 Flashfreeze
2 Jace Beleren
1 Mana Leak
2 Shatter
4 Slagstorm
2 Tuktuk the Explorer
So, what do you guys think? Does a deck like this have a chance in the current meta, or is all the SB hate of artifacts gonna make this deck fizzle to quickly. Would you change anything MB or SB? I think kuldotha phoenix is a fantastic card, but idk if I have enough artifacts to make him the great COLORLESS finisher that i need in this type of deck. Plus if it turns into an attrition war, he can take out equiped hawks and live to tell the tell, or at the worst hes a repeating blocker.
i'd go with SoBaM MB because the mill is never irrelevant against the current meta, helps get rid of pesky hawks, equipments, valakuts, that have yet to be searched for. plus prot jace is just as good as prot GftT.
IMO its best with Everflowing Chalice and Throne of geth. Eventually your just tapping ur chalice and geth for a perm a turn. not bad but not constructed worthy really, maybe if it cost 5 or 6 not 7.
so who's correct?
infect wont be in INN...
0.o u cant sac the shell....
replace the 4 tectonics with more basics and or jwar isle and it would work more than 100% of the time...
UR Force Control.
