    I bought the full set of the Guild Kits today and found some stuff that was not listed on the inserts:

    • the Izzet deck had an extra Discard filler card
    • the Boros deck had 2 foil Aurelias instead of just one

    Here are some more ideas for the mod:

    To account for the lack of the actual magic in GoT, this is how "spell" card could be named:

    • Event = Sorcery
    • Instant Event = Instant
    • Ongoing Event = Enchantment

    To optimize the mana system in a consistent way before any metagame exists (mana flood in particular), I also suggest to give all basic lands cycling. For example:

    Snow Wastes
    Basic Snow Land

    T: Add C
    Cycling 1S. Play this ability only during your turn.

    BTW, both snow lands and deserts are a good fit to generate C in this mod.


    In this mod, I suggest PW-like characters could block and some of their abilities would tap them. They could still be attacked regardless of being tapped or not. Here's one interaction card (designed off of flavor, admittedly Smile ):

    Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer 3WB
    Character - Lannister Knight

    First strike
    ~ gets +1/+1 for each equipment attached to him.
    2, pay 2 life: ~ gets +0/+2 and gains indestructible until end of turn.
    When ~ deals combat damage to a tapped creature or character, ~ gains deathtouch until end of turn.

    Next up - mana and energy. In the GoT mod, the mana we know would just represent Resources coming from the lands to summon units, build things, and put events into motion, as opposed to casting spells. Ocassional ritual or sorcery could still consume the same resources so nothing would brake. Instead of (magical/etherium) Energy counters, we could use Supplies counters instead, having a symbol similar to this: https://icons8.com/icon/50330/gold-bars ( or [#] here)

    Card ideas using the Supplies [#] counters:

    Steward of the Watch 2G
    Creature - Soldier

    When a non-token creature enters the realm under your control, you may pay 1. If you do, you get [#].

    Maybe instead of VPs, we could use the Experience (or Reputation) counters that already exist in Magic. There would some default rule (hard to achieve) like "At the end of your turn, if you have 10 experience/reputation/VP counters, you win the game." but there would be other cards that would interact with them:

    Onset of the Long Night 3UB
    Event
    Remove all counters from all permanents and players. For each Exp counter removed, its controller draws a card.


    Swift Reversal 4RR
    Instant
    ~ deals X damage divided as you choose among one or more target creatures where X is the number of attacking creatures.
    At the end of your turn, if you have 6 or more Exp counters, you win the game.

    Syrio Forel 2WW
    Character - Braavosi Warrior (yes, the idea is that characters could be PW-like (non-combat) or normal legendary creatures)
    Vigilance, Flanking
    ~ has Double strike as long as he is equipped.
    If ~ deals combat damage to a player, if you have an Exp counter, you get 1 Exp counter.

    2, T: If you played a land this turn, search for a non-Mountain basic land and put it into the realm tapped. If you do, shuffle.
    2, T: Gain 1 life. If you gained 5 or more life this turn, get 1 VP.
