Honestly, I think he would make good friends with Ob Nixilis. One loves destroying and the other likes inflicting pain. Who else does these kinds of things for fun?
I can see it now: the new super pals, Ob and Tibalt, total jerks.
Even with my coming standard Deck-Build i managed things like Turn3 Thought-Knot Seer, Turn4 Reality Smasher or even Turn4 Dragonlord Atarka! And you can do all that without committing to much Deck-slots for Ramp-Spells.
The whole set seems bent on creating normally bad 2 for 1s. The emerge mechanic, the meld mechanic, both ways that can result in a 2 for 1 if your opponent has a well timed removal spell.
My thoughts exactly. It seems like you are just, more often than not, opening yourself up for a 2 for 1. "Oh look at how cool this is, I got my creatures to meld into this one cooler and stronger creature...oh...you killed it? Well then, that sucks." <----I expect a great many of those moments happening in limited formats in the near future.
Yeah, this thing is very efficient. One of the best bears I've seen printed a good while and it does have a very similar feel to Voice of Resurgence (although Voice is better -- but also two colors). I would expect to see this in standard at least and possibly elsewhere too. Being a mythic and being good enough for standard (most likely), this may fetch a decent price.

T: Investigate, then discard a card.
That is certainly something. There is a lot of room for abuse there, as you can just gather up large amounts of clues without too much of a repercussion for it. If you have no cards in hand then doing this continously would practically be free or if you have madness... then this might just be too good. If there are multiple cheap and powerful madness cards, this would be too strong. It would essentially be a 1 mana creature that enables madness and gives you later card draw for it, at a cost, but even still.
I'm assuming that there will be cards that make the amount of clues you have matter or something of the like. That would be interesting, but it wouldn't be far off from scry trigger cards or the like.
Obviously Wizards loves putting out new types of lands and dual lands of different sorts have always been good and found a soft spot in our hearts. But I was thinking, with the introduction of true colorless mana and required colorless costs, that it gives the opportunity to Wizards in a future set, probably with the return of Emrakul, whenever and wherever she rears her head, that we could get dual lands that tap for a White mana or a colorless mana (not generic), and so on. That way we would have five new duals, but duals that tap for one color or one colorless.
I'm kind of surprised that wizards didn't do this with BFZ and OGW, but I suspect that it may have happened if there was another set in the block.
It looks like Harvester Troll is ready to stab his own eye out.
There are a lot of interesting cards, but not too many of the mythics are jaw-droppers. Most of the good stuff seems to be with the rares and uncommons.
Very very interesting that it's not an ally and that she is the "eternal pilgrim" as in she has no home and never will. Flavor wise she is not an ally, because it looks like she sacrifices others to gain life or exile other permanents (as though keeping herself alive) and has no home (as though she is either not welcome for her selfish lifestyle OR Zendikar has gone bye-bye).
I hope not, not unless you plan on having the sword do relatively nothing. Try something non-Legendary, such as Titans or Mulldrifters or something else with an insane etb effect. Zealous Conscriptswould be really funny, taking over Planeswalkers to use their abilities for the turn.

*reads "Turn3 Thought-Knot Seer, Turn4 Reality Smasher"* ...
*reads "or even Turn4 Dragonlord Atarka!"* ...NOW you have my interest

Well I guess it's a good thing that only one of them is a mythic then.
And if it doesn't? 0.o
Just kidding. We will wait patiently for the rest of the details, but I doubt it will be an functional reprint of Bone Saw immediately after one.

You, good sir, need to calm yourself.
