i just noticed some cool cards last night that let you sac lands for some cool effects and i was just woundering if there was a way to do a little added punishment on the side.

Disciple of the vault is cool, any way to make all creatures count as artifacts?

doc: that's exactly what he meant

    so from what I understand:

It's placed directly into play, without the text on it saying "target" ever being consulted by the game. So it can't actually target anything, but must still find a permanent in play to attach itself to before resolving?

    I guess that makes sense...

Looks to me like he was trying to say you could hardcast Confiscate to steal a SSS, which you can't. You HAVE to announce a target when you play confiscate as a spell.

I think you do need to explain why its "stupid good". Because as far as I can see it it is at least stupid. The only aggro deck that doesn't run white right now is Gruul. If the deck runs white it IS playing Kami of Ancient Law. Ghost Husk runs it, Zoo runs it, Boros runs it. And Simic decks have the flyer that takes out artifacts/enchantments. So Ghostly Prison is a terrible card against everything but Gruul. And even than they will simply buidl an army, you'll Wrath, they'll sac everything to Scorched Rusulka.

The point being that while they're "building an army" I'm finding Enduring Ideal and winning. You seem to miss the point that a deck like Zoo or Husk won't always DRAW a Kami. Just because a deck has an answer doesn't mean the threat is bad. I mean, those decks with Islands have counterspells so I shouldn't run spells in my deck? Your logic is twisted

Think about a deck like Zoo... where a turn 3 ghostly prison means they must now decide every turn between attacking, burning, or "building an army", and by the time either of these strategies comes online in any threatening way, you should have already found and cast Enudring Ideal. It's faster and more effective than all the alternatives, period. This has proven itself true in more than enough decks and more than enough situations for our team that I get the impression you just plain haven't tested it for fear of t3h K4m1.

well to steal an idea frowell to steal an idea from my tron deck, why not try imaginary pet.

    A. Blue is unnecessary beyond a splash color
    B. Imaginary Pet is horrible and costs 2 mana per turn you could be using to win the game

I don't know about Ghostly Prison, it's pretty good, but do you use it to stop the birds from the dovescape (I know you're also using it for aggro).

Sometimes it does that. It acts as a back-up for when the one-of Meishin gets drawn as well. There have been many games where I have the Meishin in hand and I just grab 3 or 4 Ghostly Prisons before finishing it off.

Confiscate is no spell, because it doesnt's use the stack. But Simic S.S. only cant be targeted by spells. Since Confiscate is no spell, he CAN be targeted.

And Ghostly Prison isnt that good either. It is only good in multiple against dovescape tokens, but then just take 1 Reverence instead of 4 Prisons. I'd rather ran Pyroclasm oder Lightning Helix instead, besides Wrath.

Confiscate IS a spell.... you can't hardcast it to get a SSS, so you are wrong. This only works when it comes into play off an Ideal.

Ghostly Prison is stupid good. It's good against everything aggro. EVERYTHING. I don't need to explain this further.

Just pay the 2 tix for the avatar if you can't wait. Then when your release ones show up, sell it off. Tha's what I did... The allure of a Momir Magic 4x PE was too much to bear Smile

    o.O what the...

you gotta explain that one to me...

While Enduring Ideal resolves, the enchantment is placed directly into play, at which point it must be moved onto a valid permanent. It is simply moved onto a permanent, and no target must be declared. This negates the targeting restrictions of cards such as Simic Sky Swallower and Kodama of the North Tree.

Or you know, you could always pay 2 mana per turn and beat for 3.

Windreaver isn't a one hit kill type of guy. He's a gradual kill, much as Morphling was. Same damn thing as Meloku. For all you trying to kill one one big 15+ hit with Windreaver, you're just bad at magic.

Windreaver accomplishes the same thing as Meloku, for the same price of meloku, and doesn't ever die.

Not dying > Dying, end of story.

I like that if my opponent plays 3 or 4 dudes in one turn, I can just shrug, put Reaver in my hand, Wrath it away, and laugh at another retarded 3 for 1.

    1) Ivory Mask, don't need it main.
    2) 4 Ghostly Prison, I mean do u réálly need 4? Even with Meishin...
    3) Where's Reverence? Where's Night of souls' betrayals?
    4) No freakin' way to play meishin, which I prefer to have 2 copies off, because Koala and Stomphowler, really are a pain in the neck

    1. Ivory Mask is randomly useful. Whether it's stopping Yosei triggers or stopping something like a Gruul Guildmage (happened in testing)... so it stays with it's one slot main.

    2. No, I don't need 4, I need 8, but the DCI has me limited in this aspect. Ghostly Prison is way too powerful for me to ever cut from this deck.

    3. They're not necessary. Everything they do, Meishin does better.

    4. If you run it with Utopia Sprawl, it's castable, otherwise just add in another Island if you feel it necessary. I figured that if I was in a position where hardcasting Meishin was my best possible play, I was probably going to lose that game anyway.

why spend all that space on cards that "might" come to a use... i speak by experience that loam is no use when u got spells to prevent the eventual land destruction, you can also bounce your own lands if you can't do without.

Hey Douche McGee.... while it is effective against LD strats, the Gifts Ungiven + Life From the Loam, as presented, is NOT anti-LD... it's a Tron tutor.

    Quit being a dolt.

While I agree that it's not necessary, it's for practical reasons.

Please don't attack other members. Its okay to argue, but name calling and rudeness is not acceptable. Flame/troll warning issued.

I had someone mise a Two-Headed Giant of Foriys in the 4x Momir PE yesterday. It quickly died to an Ayumi, Last Visitor, but it was still a card I had never seen on MODO before since it's an unreleased promo.

Good Ideal players run 2 Dovescape, GG.

You're already playing a 3 color manabase without Seek/Elder/Reach, which requires some vicious color commitments at times. Splasing a fourth for a quite ineffective card is horrible. Hell, Jester's Cap will cripple a deck MUCH faster than Seek will and it doesn't require raping your manabase.

Both Hide/Seek and Terashi's Grasp are wholly ineffective against Ideal ANYWAY, since in the hands of any competent player, Dovescape will always be the first lock piece against Firemane.

The you have a choice of destroying/putting on bottom, and there's not enough recursion in this format for Hide//Seek to even be CONSIDERED over Grasp, before even beginning to consider the lifegain aspect.

Hoverguard Sweeper and darksteel collosus rule in this format.

And can you guys beleive it, they're having a Momir Basic Tourney?! How awesome is that? Unfortunately I can't play in it, but I hope they have more because it's retardedly fun!

Bringer of the Red Dawn > Darksteel Colossus

and to be more correct, the card that rules this format is Dogged Hunter, but he's a rare pull due to cost restriction.

What do you think of Overrule? It's good, I think. I use 2 Overrule in my deck.

I think it's way too slow to be effective, and only really beats up on aggro strats

Just use Lesurgo's list, its that much better.

It's far better than a list running Gruul Signet, agreed, but parts of Lesurgo's list I highly disagree with (Breeding Pool is too slow, Imaginary Pet is rather awful). Our list also ran 6 signets in favor of a second Demonfire main, which I definitely approve of.
