Now that Progenitor Mimic is looking like more than just a rumor, I suppose its worth talking about. I really like that it gives a nice clone thats easy to rez that provides further value every turn. Of course though there is the issue that its sort of expensive to cast but it looked interesting enough to discuss.
Plasm Capture is kinda cool but I am not really dying for a 4 mana counterspell. I already have Mana Drain which I am just going to say is better as I dont really need the color fix and keeping a color intensive 4 mana up is just hard to do. My first glance it seems cool but a little heavy on the cost and color intensity.
Give // Take if this could have been instant and or even if just the Take part had been instant it might have been worth talking about. Sadly.... sorcery just makes it total junk in my opinion.
Not going to lie I enjoy the idea of another capable clone type card with Progenitor Mimic I'm already running vesuvan doppelganger but I tend to think that it will be a tad slower. I'll most likely buy a copy to try out.
Trinket mage is there for sensie top or for sol ring.
Update for now, after reading everything you guys wrote and suggested, I printed around 20 proxy's to check what I really want to add and to discard from the deck... I'll keep you guys posted with the changes for you review/opinions
(I think I'm gonna try and abuse Alchemist's Refuge, with as much cards that let me untap my lands during other ppl turns)
True if your running those cards, personally I have a skullclamp and sol ring that I can tutor for, adding the lands in would essentially mana fix for any of the double casting cost cards...
Just occurred to me that throwing in a seat of the synod or any other other artifact lands may also be a great addition to this deck to tutor for when blinking trinket mage into play, although not a first tier choice like sol ring.
So anytime a creature becomes a blocker it assigns return damage to the attacking creature regardless if it was assigned 0 damage by the active attacking player? Can you site specifics?
I know this has been discussed to death but I cannot find exactly what I am looking for with regards to exact wording in a simple explanation so here goes:
I have a 5/5 creature attacking and my opponent blocks with a 2/2, 2/2 and a 1/1.
Do I have the choice to assign damage to the blockers so that the 2/2 and the 2/2 die and the 1/1 remains alive as well as my 5/5? Essentially making the damage dealt 2-3-0? Or do I have to assign all combat damage out to the defending creatures leaving my 5/5 to take 5 points of return damage?
I really like where this deck is heading, especially with judge's familiar being printed, however I haven't seen mention of mirror entity, and note that any pump up effects would still be in effect even after using (X) ability, also add defiant falcon and you now have a tutor for entity.
Also not sure if I want 4x midnight haunting, or if I want a 2/2 split of that and spectral procession
Your deck list contains only 57 cards... I've been toying around with this deck a bit and it's been frustrating to be defeated by my own casual R/G aggro deck using a similar build to your list. The problem I have with enlightened tutor is that it's a card disadvantage, sure you can get a single humility but that alone doesn't seem strong enough board strategy and is trying to compensate for the weaker points of this deck, i.e. having all 1/1 creatures on the board. Conversely, if your using the tutor package to retrieve bitterblossom or intangible virtue you are at an equal card disadvantage as previous example; when running 4x any card you shouldn't be tutoring for said card because the probability of drawing into it is that much greater. I do like stoneforge mystic in this build, creature and tutor in one: and ability to cheat in a batterskull and if you add umezawa's jitte to the package you'd have repeatable equipment with counters to abuse with all the disposable 1/1 tokens.
Infiltrator has Transmute. Impossible and obvious.
Re: the art, yes this art sucks hard. Magic is often elevated from being just another dorky game by its phenomenal art, but this looks like the type of amateur crap that appears in other lesser fantasy games.
I think that you've summed it up, I've played lesser games with better art. Look at Spectrum fantasy art as a comparison where there's an appreciation for best in contemporary fantasy art, this won't make the cut I can assure you. There also used to be a connection with rare cards (not sure this is the case anymore) having better artwork than common/uncommon cards, making the card more desirable to play with.
I will give it the worst names mechanic award though. Cipher? Really? WTF does this have to do to cracking codes?
Agreed, what do codes in general have to do with magic? Also, the arwork is horrible photoshop work, it literally looks like someone took a photo and placed it in photoshop and called it a day.
Although not public yet will this really happen? What could it mean for MTG or WOC, I think that it could mean bad things if Disney decides to franchise movies and start making figurines and the like, what are people's thoughts?
How often are you discarding into your big guys with careful study or dumping them first turn with lion's eye diamond? Seems like you need a few more fatties to consistently drop in your opening hand and have a graveyard target. Also ditch Unburial Rites for animate dead just plain better card despite not having flashback in your build. Where's [CARD]Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur

If I have forgotten ancient and Primordial Hydra in play during my upkeep can I transfer counters from Ancient to the Hydra before the double effect of the Hydra takes place?
