Doesn't really seem like it's consistent enough (is there a backup plan to the Elemental?) to ever win anything, but the T2 win is back in Modern! (for a few PT rounds anyway)
They also have Kiln Fiend, and Flamekin Harbinger which finds Elementals.
Clout doesn't pump the Elemental so it's just worse.
Looks like it's unsurprisingly got Kiln Fiend as the poor man's Elemental 5-8, has the expected glut of Phyrexian mana spells, and then the surprise enabler for Nivmagus is Ground Rift
try to identify as early as possible if one of the guilds is open, especially Selesnya or Rakdos since they have the most linear gameplans and thus benefit the most from sticking to 2 colors. If you're getting fed strong cards for a 2 color deck then you don't have to prioritize the guildgates which gives you a slight edge on everything else; otherwise, you should be taking the mana fixing reasonably high since it will increase the range of powerful cards you can take in the later packs.
Innistrad had Fortress Crab for the same mana costs which could profitably block 5 power guys. I think you can only really use this guy well if you can mess up combat math with other blockers or attackers.
Have you ever played Time Spiral block limited? Saltfield Recluse often completely dominated the board with this ability and won games. Obviously this card is weaker due to higher mana costs but I wouldn't rule it out.
Fire, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd best pick here is Isperia's Skywatch. Will have to play with the set to know for sure but it feels like a good sleeper to me.
Double-white is a handicap you have to consider. This strikes me as a three or four color deck format. Taking the dual colored card could very well be the more 'open' play.
I feel like the format isn't as multicolor-focused as the original ravnica. We've lost the 'kicker' spells like Ribbons of Night, Steamcore Weird, etc and there's a lot less fixing at common due to no signets. I think 2-color decks will be fine in this format (they were close to unplayable in original Rav) and 3-color will be fine if you prioritize fixing. Not sure I see the support for 4+ colors outside of base-green decks.
the good cards are Azorius Justiciar, Centaur Healer, Sluiceway Scorpion, Splatter Thug. I think we can eliminate the 2-color ones since they're not really strong enough to p1p1 a multicolor card, so that leaves us with Justiciar vs Thug. I'm not actually sure which is better but I'd guess it's the Justiciar.

Edit: sounds like the turn 2 kill brew was a Nivmagus Elemental deck.
(Trick) A well known player was just seen swinging for lethal on turn 2. #PTRTR
sounds like we've got some infect in the house.

Have you not looked at this spoiler yet? There's a pretty big enchantment subtheme.
