i seriously hope candidates for the 2012 election are atleast WORTHY candidates. the 2008 elections sucked so hard. Both Barack Obama and Mccain ☺☺☺☺ing BLEW. We need more political extremes in this country. Enough of this Democrat/Republican crap. They're both almost the same thing, and in the same spectrum.
World War 2? Isn't it too recent compared to civil war? (In tech terms at least it's much, much different)
I was thinking on something like The paraguayan war of the triple alliance, great sioux war, mexican-american war, war of the pacific (south american one), etc...

If you want my advice, don't do it about just the American Civil War, it's just too specific to ever be succesfull,, it'd work better as an expansion or something, besides, I can provide you with lots of info about many other american wars from the same period.

Thanks for the input, guys, I appreciate every tip. However, from looking at my notes and sketches, the mechanics of this game seem to be shying away from the core rules of Magic. I'll give you guys a taste of what I've got going.
Currently, I have it set up so that there are 4 different types of cards you can get in-game.
Commander cards: Overall upgrades for the entire army, not just one unit. I'm thinking of making it so you only have ONE commander card per deck. AKA like, you're running a George B McClellan which would make your deck more defensive. Your opponent might be running a Nathan Bedford Forrest deck, so his would be more aggressive and more cavalry driven...if you follow.
Technology Cards: Upgrades for your unit cards. New technologies might include musket rifling and rockets.
Unit Cards: The main fighting force of your army. Units include infantry, cavalry and artillery which are then divided into sub-categories. (Infantry - regiment, skirmishers, militia etc etc...)
Resource cards: Will fuel the army and unit cards as well as technology. Government funding, Loans and/or general funds...

I truthfully didn't find the scarecrow to be creepy enough.
I mean honestly....when I think of the scarecrow, I envision this lanky, tall guy with some creepy-ass burlap mask and a scythe/pitchfork.
