I feel like crack the earth would be good in conjunction with mining, as a way to get rid of it when it has served its purpose while making your opponent sac something
The most powerful line of play is to cast Tallowisp, cast Geist of Saint Traft tutoring for Steel of the Godhead. Cast Steel of the Godhead tutoring for Angelic Destiny. Cast Angelic Destiny tutoring for Unstable Mutation.
I'm a little confused. How does casting steel or angelic destiny let you tutor? Neither are spirit or arcane.
How did it go? Any results? What is playable or just fun?
I never really played it competitively, but when I did play with it, getting an opener with BoP, coating, and oxidize/nature's claim meant I was golden. Especially on the play- killing their first land on my second turn meant they were dead in the water. Otherwise, if the coating didn't show up early, it was a little more of an uphill battle. As long as I got some of their lands and managed to start hitting with SoWaP I could usually pull out a win. I'm not sure I can see the deck operating on a very competitive level as cards like thoughtsieze and abrupt decay are brutal against it, but if you are playing at fnm level you could definitely take people by surprise with it.
I made one of these a while ago: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/rug-liquidator/
I think bop is pretty important because it gives you potential turn 2 LD
Also fabricate not only lets you fetch coatings, it lets you run some swords to put on your etb destruction creatures. I also at one point had wurmcoil engine in there to fetch up with it as a win-con.
I had a master transmuter based deck a long time ago. spine of ish sah was pretty great in it. I also loved using venser to blink out treasure mages or spines and to make blightsteel colossus unblockable.
I didn't even realize that. I still think that if the deck ends up with enough artifacts, tfk is a good idea. I'm considering bant as someone mentioned blind obedience, I also like stoic angel.
I think I will definitely try to force plow under in, as I have been dying to use it in a deck. Nothing like setting your opponent back 2 lands and giving them 2 turns of dead draws, especially when their lands are etbt.
I tried brewing something with this a bit ago on modo.
if you add ravnica bounce lands and summer bloom, you can get create lots of mana.
example:
turn 1 amulet
turn 2 bounce land, summer bloom, bounce land, bounce land, bounce land. Thats 7 seven mana on turn two.
I just couldn't figure what to ramp into, and its kind of inconsistent.
one option is genesis wave.
another idea is to run green titan, lotus cobra, tinket mage as beaters and wolf run.
Just my thoughts. sorry its kind of written fast. I have a stats test soon. good luck and I will love to help brew this idea.
Root maze slows down other decks too.
I think frost titan would be a great threat to ramp into. It helps lock them down and with the denial theme would be a nightmare to remove. Also, I feel like thirst for knowledge is a must, since both amulet of vigor and storage matrix are pretty important to get out but bad in multiples.
I'm pretty excited about brewing up something around this.
I was expecting bbe, but my hopes were on some unbannings as well =(
I feel like preordain should come off if they are going to do a major storm banning like that.
I would love to see cycling as the mechanic of m14. It's fun and competitive, easy to figure out, and not limited by the color pie. It would allow for Astral Slide and the cycling lands(secluded steppe etc.) to be introduced into the modern cardpool. Personally it is one of my all time favorite mechanics and I almost feel like it should be evergreen. The only major strike I see against it is having to deal with slide+thragtusk for a few months in standard, and I feel that it would be worth it to introduce such a great interactive card to modern permanently. Cycling lands+ life from the loam would be nice to have there as well.
I'm thinking of doing a Junk deck using lotleth troll along with some one drops like young wolf, judge's familiar, rakdos cackler etc with orzhov charm and immortal servitude and rancor. Probably also including lingering souls and possibly blind obedience. Charm and servitude seem awesome with loltroll especially.

I'm most disappointed that there was no extort pacifism, but instead an uncommon 4 cost pillory.
I think you mean darth mill.
