If you feel insulted its coming from your own personal insecurity.

1 mana for 6 damage. The cards get are irrelevant in the damage race. With the logic you're using why use force of will it makes you use an extra card. Why use fetchlands, you have to pay a life to use it.

For someone who has been playing since Legends you should know the definitions of tempo and sligh.

Even dredge wins with creatures. Exactly what is it that you want? Ancestral Recall? Show and tell? Natural Order? (Still 2 of those spells rely on creatures). You want a 1 mana 5 damage lightning bolt?

Those numbers are vague and meaningless. I really have no idea what you're talking about when you say "closer to legacy"

Since you're having trouble defining it, I'll take a go:

    Power level 1-2 = turn 6 kill, what's a cantrip?
Power level 3-4 = turn 5 kill, no cantrip, but you can scry...
Power level 5 = turn 4 kill, serum vision is your best cantrip
Power level 6-7 = turn 3 kill, preordain is your best cantrip
Power level 8-9 = turn 2 kill, ponder is your best cantirp
Power level 10 = turn 1 kill, brainstorm is your best cantrip

    Ok go

Seriously power level needs to be defined. When you say you want a format closer to the legacy power level, do you mean turn 1 kill capability? I'm not derailing, I'm trying to add meaning behind this scale of 1-10. Like is power level 10 turn 1 land, lotus, channel fireball, gg?

Is power level 9 lotus petal, city of traitor, show and tell emrakrul?

Do people know what they are asking for?

Garbage discussion. This is why this topic is a joke. You can have a perfectly defined term. And some how its up for debate.

Its like someone knowing "irregardless" isn't a real word and yet they insist on using it.

People are correcting you because you sound "stupid"

This thread is not about weither the thread should exist or not, it is about powerlevel. Keep on topic please

    What is "power level?"

Can you define that before endorsing discussions of make-believe?

It shouldn't be doing anything other than being its own format and developing organically through play not meaningless surveys.

Modern replaced Extended, you can grapple with that one if you need something to wrap your head around.

This poll and thread is a time bomb waiting to explode. The wording and phrasing is all wrong.

It first assumes that there is something wrong with modern and that that something needs to change which is a fallacy.

Have you considered that Modern is fine and people should just play and let the players drive the format?

If you think that then you can vote for "in between" and "5" because that is probably where Modern is right now. Between Standard and Legacy with space on both sides of the spectrum.

The problem is the questions stinks and its being driven by an agenda. Leave modern alone, and stop trying to campaign that there's something wrong with it.

I've pretty much eliminated any online trading because of counterfeits.

But I also have the benefit of living in Southern Ontario which has the highest density of Magic players in the world.

So its not a "I'm going into this match to draw" but a defensive tactic you audible too.

I'm with LotP on this one, I couldn't do it unless I'm up a game. I still think its nessary to find a way to win. A lot of the time a draw might as well be a loss when it comes to top 8s and tie breakers.

    @ Adam

That's irrelevant, and not how the legacy works. Meta game is largely irrelevant because all decks are powerful and good players know how play through hate and each archetype represents a small percentage of the overall meta.
