Kragma Butcher is really nice. Blocks the turn it drops, pumps itself, pumps Battle Brawler, gets a bonus from Chief.
Master of the Feast is not a Warrior, but who can resist such cheap meat? Blocks Rhinos, Butcher of the Hoard, Stormbreath Dragon, etc.
On paper this pile may not look like much. Its almost a budget deck (in fact, aside from a few of the cards, it was assembled almost entirely through regular draft play!) It really packs a mean punch though. Nearly every creature can pump itself in some fashion. There's enough removal to keep the other player's board clear.
When DTK arrives, I'm going to squeeze in a trio of Blood-Chin Fanatics. More lifegain is always good in an aggressive deck this Standard season. Plus it punishes decks that play a lot of removal.
I love it. Wish it was a Warrior.
A question though, is there any Instant removal in current Standard that efficiently makes this thing a waste of mana? TONS. Crackling Doom, Bile Blight, Hero's Downfall.
Instead of RDW, I see him finding a home in R/G Monsters or even U/R/G (ferocious) decks that are already ramping and dropping must deal with threats.
Banishing Light doesn't trigger until it enters the battlefield. While it's on the stack it's a spell, but it doesn't target anything. Once it enters the battlefield it becomes an enchantment, not a spell, that targets something to exile.
I still don't think that guy is right what gives him the credibility anything with a ****** target can b ****** swerved
I plan to add Sorin and Utter End somewhere in the deck once I'm able to obtain the physical versions.
Ended up cutting Athreos because 1. I already have too many 3 drops. 2. Can't attack or block without jumping through hoops. 3. I'm not made of money and would rather snag a couple copies of Sorin.
I've come out of complete lurkership to say how interested I am in this deck. From my playtesting, @Happy Shaman's deck is performing more consistently than the Mardu version. I am heading to Indiana towards the end of the month for the TCG Player MAXpoint Championship, and would love to work with you guys to get this deck tournament-viable. Have you all considered any of the following cards as MB or SB options? How do they look to you?
Aegis is super easy to remove. If most decks were not tossing around tokens, it could be worth considering. But not right now.
Oppressive Rays is a good sideboard card against Monster-style decks.
I had no idea this card existed until draft last Tuesday. I like it. Does Tormented Hero's job and is a good blocker. However, this should have been 1B to be playable outside of limited. Nonetheless, I've been testing it. So far, it usually gets stuck in hand more than I like a card to be.

*Asterisks mine
Needless to say, an argument ensued regarding him thinking a Swerve could effect the target of Banishing Light's Enter the Battlefield trigger.
Can you folks explain to him why he's wrong?

I've been testing it as a 2-of. Works rather well.

I know. Its a simple common. But I expect control decks using black use it a lot like Mutivault was used. Or how green decks use Sylvan Carytid.
