I hope that M11 Titan isn't Sun Titan again.

My guess is primeval, which is banned, and this is their attempt to "fix" it since previous attempts at similar variants (like sylvan primordial) were apparently still too strong for the format and got banned as well

I was thinking that too, but I am also suspicious of colors. So far I think all of the cards shown as phyrexianized have added one color. The only commander deck that looks like phyrexian is Growing Threat, which would restrict it to black adding white or white adding black. He did say "in the set" but then it is weird that the video's title is "commander deck hints" if that card is not in a commander deck... Is another of the decks phyrexian in disguise?

I have no idea what "exclusive new cards found in set and collector boosters" means because I thought set booster meant the regular set, which should be considered normal new cards rather than exclusive.

And as for ria “combat damage to one or more players” ok WOTC talk now… no card in existence can do that not even hydra omnivore and other cards with similar effects. (And no extra combat is still dealing damage to one player)

Partial damage redirection can do this. For example, Zhalfirin Crusader directing to two players or Shining Shoal moving some of your damage to another player.

As you said though, more likely that it is handling a new thing rather than an old corner case.

I'm... guessing this is a reference to Egyptian mythology that I'm not familiar with? A bizarre but fascinating card.

The Ancient Egyptians was one of the first people who tamed the horse, of course, they only used it to pull chariots into battle, still...

On topic, love the card. Good to see some of the lesser tribes get some love. Now to break out the Armored Warhorse and Hipparion...

Looks kind of like it was a jackal that they turned into a horse at the last minute (hooves and nose). Alternatively, it could be some kind of weird Set reference.

As weird as the animal is, I really like the dust/shadow horse in the background.

What is all of the red in Desert of the Glorified? Blood would not really make sense considering the low population and methods by which they were destroyed. Looks kind of like it is transparency and the background is showing though, weird.

I don't see any red in the Desert of the Glorified, but if you mean Desert of the Mindful instead, then it's the blood into which the river Luxa was turned by Razaketh.

Oops, I meant Desert of the True.

Ok if it was somehow transmuted into blood then that makes a lot more sense. Thank you.

As a Commander player, I feel the The Scorpion God seem pretty weak.

For 3BR, no enter the battlefield ability, no haste and an underwhelming activated ability that cost 1BR to activate. While drawing a card whenever a creature with a -1/-1 counter dies seems like a strong ability, there are only a handful of good cards that have a reasonable converted mana cost that actually put -1/-1 counters on creatures. Black Sun's Zenith and Contagion Engine come to mind as examples, but cards like Splendid Agony, Skinrender and even Soul Snuffers seem too underwhelming/gimmicky.

Are there any good card synergies with the The Scorpion God for commander that seem worth mentioning?

Midnight Banshee / Harbinger of Night
    Necroskitter
    Mikaeus, the Unhallowed
    Cauldron of Souls

    More illegible cards, excellent!

I still find it quicker to read the rules text then guess what the card is rather than read the name itself.

I noticed Bontu is the only one not wearing a golden mask, and in the legendary oath cards, Liliana is the only one without glowing eyes.

Black keeps it real and doesn't concern itself with those micro-transaction cosmetics.

  • posted a message on Planar Breach
Planar Breach is a set of optional additional rules similar to Planechase but less forgiving.

    How to Play:

Before the game starts, choose some number of cards at random from the List of Planar Traits without revealing them; these cards are called Planar Traits. Reveal the chosen Planar Traits after players draw their inital hands, before taking mulligans. At the beginning of each turn cycle, if the turn cycle number is equal to the converted mana cost of any of the Planar Traits, those traits breach the plane. Planar Traits with a converted mana cost of zero breach the plane at the same time as those with a converted mana cost of one (before the beginning of the first player's first turn). When a trait breaches, if it has any enters the battlefield effects, those effects trigger and resolve. The rules text of all breached traits apply as if they were in play until the end of the game. Planar Traits that have breached are not actually in play, their effects simply leak into the game.

    How this list was chosen:

    • Artifacts and Enchantments only
    • No implied controller, for example:
      • No activated abilties except those that state any player may activate it
      • No enter the battlefield abilities that require choosing or targetting
      • No abilities that say "you" or "your"
    • No self-sacrificing or self-destruction clause

Feel free to tailor the list to your playgroup, removing any cards you deem unbalanced or unfun.

Please let me know if any of the rules are unclear. I would also appreciate any suggestions or insights you have after playing a few games with Planar Breach. What was your experience like and how did your playgroup feel about it?

I actually think he's pretty solid. So often the threat of an activation can warp the way an opponent has to approach combat. There's no way for the opponent to keep you from turning him on short of depriving you of every single creature.

To what end though? I guess you are saying it is good for blocking, but it is completely terrible at attacking, which makes the menace really lame.

Archenemy uses "shared team turns", which means that each team has a single team-upkeep and in which everyone on the team does their upkeep stuff. It triggers one time on the shared upkeep.

If you want the exact technical rules, check 904 for Archenemy and 805 for shared team turns:
