I had the same issue with my iPhone. Clearing cookies and all browser data did not fix it, even when combined with quitting safari and restarting my phone. I just tried toggling the "auto refresh" box and that fixed it!

Is there a way I can search for topics I've previously read? There was a topic I visited while logged in about a month ago that I'm having trouble finding again.

I remember the old forum having a list of "recently visited" topics under my account, so I'm hopeful this one does as well, even though I'm not seeing it on first look.

    Thanks.

How should I handle an ebay sale where the buyer is incurring a 2 week delay receiving a card due to an error by the USPS? What would be a fair refund for the delay? Is there an official process I should use within ebay? I want to do the right thing, however, there have been a couple messages from the buyer that make me think I aught to protect myself.

    Thanks for the input.

I'm In Chicago on business Wednesday through Friday this week. Are there any stores that have Limited, Modern or Legacy games on Wedensday or Thrusday nights, or should just be checked out regardless? walking distance from the train would be preferable.

    Thanks.

I love 1-2 Garruk Wildspeaker in my deck similar to this. The +1 means it doesn't slow you down all that much, and trying to avoid the -4 next turn often forces some bad to impossible choices out of your opponent.

I also run 1 Throne of Geth. It's an almost guaranteed 1 poison when sac'd to itself. 2 Poison if you weaken an infected blocker and attacking with a trampler. Even more when it kills an infected blocker and you only have the non-trample pump. Just it's presence on the board can change how your opponent blocks and attacks. It also interacts really well with necropede which is a fine sideboard against my friend's goblin deck.

Thanks Kahedron for the rules quote, and the example of Seeds of Strength. Gatherer even has a ruling for that card explicitly stating the same creature can be targeted with all 3 targets.

So, with that piece of the question behind us, what is the answer to how Livewire Lash interacts with a single spell targeting the same creature multiple times. Rephrasing my original question...

If I target the same creature with multiple effects from a single spell (for example, all 3 effects of Seeds of Strength), and that creature is presently equipped with Livewire Lash, would the lash trigger once for each target (3) or once for the single spell (1)?

Thanks for the answers. Coincidentally, the FAQ (not official ruling, I know) was posted today, and my original question was addressed in there for those curious.

You need to be able to choose two different target creatures in order to cast Leeching Bite.

Is there a rule that flat out prohibits a spell from targeting the same creature multiple times? If not, how would such a spell interact with a creature equipped with Livewire Lash? Would the trigger fire once or twice?

Searching gatherer for spells that target multiple creatures without the use of "another" or specifying a number of targets, the best candidates I could find were:
    Hunt Down
Profane Command (X=1 and choosing last 2 effects)

    Thanks again.

Can I target the same creature with both of the effects of Leeching Bite? If so, and that creature is equipped with Livewire Lash, would the lash trigger once or twice?

Thanks. My infect deck is hoping the answer is twice. Grin

    @marximus

Don't get me wrong, the couple times I got Tezz to resolve, he was a house. What I found was that he was such a lightning rod for counters and removal, that started to become his primary purpose. Lightning Rods are fine, but in my deck, a lightning rod that isn't an artifact (can't forgemaster into it, Transmute it, Summoner it, Hegemon it) doesn't interact as much as I'd like. As an aside, for this reason, I'm very anxious to play with SpellSkitter. =)

I don't think I have to go into how sweet an opening hand Ponder is. Not just on turn one, but also reducing the number of Mulligans.

Have you had the pleasure of peeling a TYE or Voltaic Key or Transmuter with Tezz +1 to enable you to go leathal a turn early, or lock up going lethal next turn? Now, how many times would peeling a non-artifact (trinket mage or Grand Architect or other depending on build) provide the same benefit? Ponder doesn't dig as deep, but it's not dependent on a resolved Tezz, it can setup your next 2 draws after the cantrip (saving an unnecessary library search or shuffle effect), and I haven't had a Ponder get countered yet.

I've played with Ichor Wellspring. The potential repeatability of it is nice, but I found myself never actually using that repeatability. Also, it is awkward to draw the singleton artifact you wanted to forgemaster into, off of a ForgeMaster sacked Wellspring. The odds are low, but it has happened to me several times.

You all have vastly more experience than me, especially when it comes to Extended. I don't play the format so we don't need to convince eachtother of anything. Because my deck was so similar, and I didn't see Ponder mentioned by name at all, I wanted to mention it.

Thanks for all the blood and sweat poured into this thread. I would have never added Grand Architect and appreciated the benefit of it without the discussion here, and learned many other things along the way.

I run a casual deck with the Transmuter, Forgemaster, Battlesphere core. Thanks to this thread, I added Grand Architect with good results. Thank you.

The extended legal card I use that I'm surprised to not see mentioned at all in this thread is Ponder. For my deck, and the decks I play against, I'd always rather have a Ponder in hand than a Tezz. The benefit on turn 1 is just too good, and later it's easier to cast and resolved is arguably more flexible than Tezz. Food for thought...

It isn't 'findable' for a simple reason: the triggered ability says "return ANOTHER target artifact card", as in "target artifact that is not this one". Sculpting Steel becomes a new object when it finally hits the graveyard, with no memory of being a Retriever, but by then, you've already chosen your target, and the Steel wasn't a legal one because 1) It wasn't in the graveyard when you pick your target, and 2) it says 'another', so it can't get itself.

Hoodoo, 'findable' may have been the wrong choice of words. I didn't mean to imply that 'findable' meant 'legal target', but rather that the triggered ability would be able to 'find' it (rule 400.7d) to determine Sculpting Steel is not a valid target when choosing a target to put it on the stack.

I believe bimmerbot is correct on the point that Sculpting Steel is indeed in the graveyard when the triggered ability goes on the stack. For example, if 2 Myr Retrievers hit the graveyard at the same time, they can see each other, and target each other, no?

The "ordering of SBAs" doesn't matter. Non-token copies reverting back to their printed form is not a SBA. Sculping Steel enters the graveyard already as itself, it's never in the graveyard as a copy of Myr Retriever.

Thanks for the correction on SBAs. Rule 608.2i seems specific to the resolution of the ability, and characteristic changes. I don't understand how it applies to Sculpting steel entering the graveyard as a new object.

Would the below be the applicable rules to the zone change causing Sculpting Steel to enter the graveyard as a new object, but still findable by the triggered ability?

400.7. An object that moves from one zone to another becomes a new object with no memory of, or relation to, its previous existence. There are six exceptions to this rule:

400.7d Abilities that trigger when an object moves from one zone to another (for example, “When Rancor is put into a graveyard from the battlefield”) can find the new object that it became in the zone it moved to when the ability triggered, if that zone is a public zone.

    Thanks again.

Would a token copy of Myr Retriever (say from Mirrorworks) hitting the graveyard trigger its ability and allow me to return a different artifact to my hand?

Would a non-token copy, say from Sculpting Steel, behave any different? Could I return Sculpting Steel itself, since it is no longer a copy of Myr Retriever in the graveyard?

I think my questions boil down to the ordering of SBAs (which make tokens go poof, and non-token copies revert back to their printed form) and enter the graveyard triggers getting put on the stack.

    Thanks much.

Correct. But I don't know why I made it that difficult :-P

    30 Mythics out of 2x121 cards = 30/242 = 12.4% of having a Mythic in a booster pack. Tezz = 1/10 Mythics = 1.24% of having Tezz in a booster pack.
    36 booster packs / display = 44.6% having Tezz in a display.

I like what you did breaking it out. It makes it easy to derive the answer to...

If my box has at least 1 tezz, what are the chances it will contain more? 24.7%

This is a high enough percentage to corroborate the reported experience that many tezz boxes contain multiple tezzes.
