Hi my tag is tubel kain on magic online. I recently qualified for My first pro tour shadows over Innistrad. I haven't played competitive standard in close to two years and am doing my best to practice and test decks this last month before the pro tour. So this thread is for competitive standard decks in shadows over Innistrad standard. Also anyone that is going and would like to private chat and possibly meet up in Spain would be welcome.

The decks I'm currently interested in for new standard are gw midrange, rg midrange, naya mid range, rg eldrazi ramp, uw eldrazi, esper dragon control, ur madness tutelage. Any other deck ideas or lists would be helpful. I plan on creating a limited shadows thread once the full spoiler is out. Thanks!

    Quote from Jake1991
Mighty Leap and Nimbus Wings take up slots that could be used to pump the army as a whole. They both cost 1W which is the same cost as Honor of the Pure. Those two won't help when hit with a Pyroclasm.

Nimbus Wings runs the risk of being 2-for-1'd. Sure, attach it to a Mirran Crusader, but who is to stop blue from bouncing the crusader or red to Bolt it in response.

Just like how you said that they can pyroclasm or bolt me i can mighty leap in response to keep a mirran crusader from dying. it depends on who plays what instant first. besides if i swing with mirran crusader wouldnt they want to bolt me? I only run three mighty leaps in the deck so i save them for when i really need them not just to hit for a few extra damage. Yes its true that blue can bounce them which is why I think the mighty leaps are better and im running them over nimbus wings. and I still run 3-4 accorder paladins, 4 exemplars, and four honor, and three heroes so I have all the other pump cards so im not really sacrificing anything.

While I know this is a mono white discussion I what I have to wonder is why? I run black white knights. This isnt for Phrexian crusader either. Its for the side board. the only black card in the deck is 3 or 4 go for the throats. They help me get bloackers out of the way (just like journey) but is Sh*T hits the fan and i got titans or anything else swinging at me I can take them out. Plus I can side board hexmages, I only run 2 basic swamps in the deck then 4 marsh flats so i never find myself without plains. It just gives a great variety with the thoats and doom blades.

Also, what do you guys think about mighty leap or nimbus wings? Quite a few people I know run flying so I can block with these equiped. Plus if i equip mirran crusader with mighty leap it mean so they have to have a non black/green flyer (and if i have a go for the throat that means it has to be an artifact as well) so other wise they taking 8 not counting any bonuses with exemplar or honor.

Your Deck seems to work pretty good to me. Fast early game and you have a few later game options with siegegang roar of the crowd. plus hand control cards like blightning really make a difference. :]

Not too good with the way its setup now however I took out Indomitable Archangel and the day of judgements. Im side boarding the 3 days giving me a total of 3. In their place I put in four Negate and I'm side boarding four dispels my problem against super friends was gideon jura and day of judgement. With the negates I can cancel any of those. I can also throw in the dispel to stop their cancel spells. Its better but blue white control is still my worst match up.

Definately add split lands from m11 and Scars of mirrodin. Also fetch lands from zendikar. Im sure there are older cards too but i've played mostly since m11. Also since you are mana ramping with eldrazi spawn I would put four Genesis Wavein your deck.

I've changed a few things since yesterday

I've taken out one Memnite and added an etra Ethersworn Canonist.

I've also changed my side deck I replaced Stoic Rebuttal with Hindering Light. I also realized I forgot to put 2 Open the Vaults in my side board. LoL

So this is a deck I'm planning on running at the Grand Prix Atlanta. So far I've had good results playing it at the local card shop nearby. I won one tournament and done pretty well in a few others though that was before it was complete. I've test played it against an okay Jund deck, a top Faerie deck, Kor Equip, Merfolk, The fastest Red goblins I've seen, Red Black Rogue Goblins, and a wall deck. So far I've come out victorious everytime.

It would be great if you guys let me know what you think.
