I think moving forward, this deck could really benefit from the use of Innocent Blood. I'm currently testing it as a 3 of in the SB, and may move 2 of them to the main deck. It's a fantastic answer to Nemesis and Goose.

Or you can just use Diabolic Edict such that you don't need to potentially sacrifice your own creature or use up mana on your turn at sorcery speed.

Buy Sorin vs Tibalt duel decks. Reasonably balanced vs each other. One time investment of $20 (can buy for less online). Good for learning creature combat + how to use removal/small stack interaction.

Even if you're "more skilled", the singleton nature of those preconstructed decks adds some variance to even out your draws. Both sides gets to know the opponent's deck with more games and will learn how to play against each other (When should Sorin's tokens potentially overextend into Tibalt's Pyroclasm or Breaking Point, when should Tibalt use Unearth and sacrificial effects, etc.)

Your friends will eventually know how to play either deck competently.

Wash Out is versatile in the sideboard - it could come in against DNT, Goblins and Elves and even Merfolk. It is a turn slower than Perish, but has more applications imho. Depending on the meta could be a good choice.

I still think Perish, Virtue's Ruin, Fire Covenant, or any other 3CC sweeper is still better than Wash Out since your opponent's Vials would allow their creatures flash back in end of turn.

Also, like you mentioned before, this deck functions best at ~3 lands. We probably won't even have out a 4th land to reliably cast Wash Out, though it is a decent catch-all sweeper.

Thank you, I'm trying to figure out what to prepare for GP DC in November and its closing in on me fast.
I'm currently planning on using Bryant Cook's list from SCG Open Philadelphia with maybe a few tweaks to the sideboard. I'm anticipating a lot of Delver and Stoneforge decks.

You are better off going to the TES thread on The Source http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?23361-Deck-T-E-S-The-EPIC-Storm/page156

More people with experience with the deck + Legacy in general can help you there. Not so much help here most MTGSalvation users seem to be more Standard/Limited/Casual focused.

So for people who have played TES for much longer than I have:
When burning wish how do you know if you should grab Diminishing Returns, Ill-Gotten Gains, Past in Flames, or Empty the Warrens if you do not yet have lethal Tendrils storm count?

In testing I have repeatedly fizzled because I grabbed the wrong one.

DR: I rarely ever grab it since it tends to help the opponent more than you. If you really need to, make sure you have:
    A) Blue mana floating
    B) Decent number of lands in play already
    C) Silence already cast against blue deck
to maximize your chances of not getting blanks/blown out in your new 7.

IGG: Usually cast when you alerady have a Burning Wish or a hellbent Infernal Tutor and 2 Lion's Eye Diamond in the yard + 2 mana floating. Use IGG to bring them back and recast for free storm + 6 new mana after breaking the 2 LED's again in response to the Wish/Tutor. Make sure your opponent cannot interact with this line of play though (has Force of Will + blue card in his grave, Deathrite Shaman with open mana, etc)

PiF: Count your mana after casting it. Dark Ritual = + 2 mana, Rite of Flame= +1,2,3,4 depending on how many in your and maybe your mirror opponent's graveyard. Determine whether the sum is enough to reach Tendrils or Empty.

Empty the Warrens: Usually at least 10 Goblins. Remember to flashback Cabal Therapy or use Silence during their upkeep if necessary to ensure the goblins get there.

    Hope that helps.

Narcolepsy is another curse of chains or Coast Watcher can help if your not to far behind. Do you run Frostburn Weird at all? I always love seeing him against aggro

I have 2 copies of him, but haven't gotten to use him much in game so far. Not sure how I will be sinking mana into him since the mana base (17 Islands) is already constricted. My guess is that we use him mainly as a finisher once the board is stabilized?

New to Pauper. Been giving this deck a whirl as I get used to the MTGO interface. Tons of fun.

I seem to have some trouble with aggressive green creature based decks since our low mana count can't provide me with both blockers + decent counterspell protection outside of Daze in the opening turns.

Aside from Coral Net + Curse of Chains are there any other decent low CC SB choices for me to bring in G2 + G3?

The Santa Clara one is walking distance from CFB. Literally down the street.

Even better=]. Do you frequent either of the places there Sparki?

I play casual legacy with proxied decks at Game Kastle on fridays, while I get reacquainted with the format. I'm trying to build momentum with the edh players there, 2 of whom have shown more interest since i've been there.

I don't play legacy every friday, so let me know if you want to come and i'll make it a point to stay out of other board games.

Google shows me that there is one in Santa Clara and one in Fremont. Which one are you referring to? I can definitely make it to either one on Fridays!

I'm locked in for a job in the Bay Area now and will be here indefinitely.

Can Tom or any other moderator add my info to the front page?

MiniLuv - Santa Clara - Legacy, Modern

Glancing through the thread, it seems that nearby stores (within a 30 minute drive radius from me) that hold Modern/Legacy nights are:

    Galaxy Games in Dublin
    Superstars CFB in San Jose
    Illusive Comics in Santa Clara

Any others that I am missing?

This upcoming Saturday? Sunday? I'll clarify later, on phone ATM, there is a legacy tournament at versus games in SF. $25 buy in 100% payout to players, I believe it's 15 proxies. They might have a modern too. Check channelfireball for modern as well.

Darn, a 1+ hr drive=[ to Versus in SF, but 15 minutes to CFB though=]

Going to be visiting the San Jose/Cupertino area for the next few weeks. Anyone know of any Modern/Legacy events that are held in the area?

Doesn't this sort of hint at what he's playing...? Slant

It does. I think we should be careful in case your opponent really wants the match kept private. But honestly, I think many participants here already know who is playing what since spectator count has been crazy high in recent matches. And in case any of them have forgotten their opponent's deck, the replay function solves since just briefly spectating a game before quitting gives you access to the replay of the entire match.

^Also, note that the above prices are for SCG, which tend to be on the high end. You can definitely get the cards for cheaper here in Sales threads in the Marketplace forums or on Ebay.
