So, to repeat this back, you basically have the general slot as an extra slot in the pack? Like a basic land? Or did I misunderstand that.

Thank you for your help, other tips make sense Smile

    Hey guys,

Looking at switching from a regular cube configuration to EDH. My playgroup has mostly moved to EDH as a format and we all think that an EDH cube would make the decks quite fun. Things I would like some help on:

How do people draft yours? Do they draft legends first, or throughout the packs?

Are there any special pitfalls I should avoid in this format, as opposed to regular cube?

What is the ideal deck size for EDH cube matches?

    Thanks for any feedback!

If you lived in NC I'd be interested in purchasing a lot of that bulk...I actually enjoy the sorting and piecing out of Commons and Uncommons...but basically what others have said on this thread applies...look to get about 4$ per thousand from a store. The other option if you had time would be to "pick" the bulk and buy list any cards worth a quarter or more...but without a lot of time, it's kind of a moot point.

Yeah, Stooge. I'd say collectors and speculators. The specific trader whose profile you linked seems to be betting on a few cards that are known to be in-demand, but which haven't seen their largest price jump yet. KCI is talked about in a lot of magic finance content at the moment...but I think the ship sailed on it a week ago or so.

If you look at my profile, I will take all From Beyonds you have, for instance!

I just used the Discord and PucaTrade to pick up some alters Smile I am excited. While the artist asked for a bit of a premium, it's always easy to send enough to get the points!

I have found the Discord to be a huge impetus for trades. That said, one feature I was displeased with is the Send Cards list recently. I still dislike that it defaults to "New Traders" it had been a month or so since I used it and I was so confused for a moment...my haves list was loaded but only two cards came up. Sheesh! :p

That and my own opinion after playing it and seeing how diverse the opinions are in the US on the format is that the other countries need to expand or add cards to it to let in the kind of decks people want to play. If someone has a favorite pet card they want to try they should let it in to try it out. The ultimate thing that people seem to have never tried doing in Magic is "build" a format. Not just declare one, but cultivate one that fits the community playing magic. It's what the game needs right now more than anything else and WoTC along with Hareyuya are ill suited to meet those demands. When people take command of a format and control the cards being played, it creates a meta-game that is far more dynamic and interesting than just putting everything into a blender and hoping what you get out is what you really want. There really is a format out there that can handle Birthing Pod, Splinter Twin, GOOD control, and even some aggro and mid-range. The community just needs to come together to actually work on building it.
    Modern

Commander is the only "built" community format that I'm aware of. It's a rousing success. I agree with your statement here.

Had a really fun draft experience with two good foil pulls. Sylvan library and swords to plowshares. Bombed the draft despite the card quality, but had a lot of fun.

I have also found the best formula for getting trades to be a 4000+ points total and a large wants list. I specifically seem to get most of my packages that have a combination of little commons/uncommons and one or two larger cards. Having a combination so that people can send their extra bulk to earn a bonus is effective.

It has been helping me upgrade/complete EDH decks a lot recently.

How about instead of filler articles every week, the URs actually conclude the BFZ story during the week the set will be officially for sale? The remaining time between BFZ and OGW can be spent giving us short stories that take place elsewhere on Zendikar not featuring the main cast or hell, anywhere in the multiverse. As OGW approaches, you go back to telling plot stories so that by release week you've concluded OGW's story.

Basically this. The brochure should not be a spoiler. We should already have the conclusion to the story on Pre-release night. Then they can have all these filler stories, which aren't terrible, but don't really contribute to the main plot.

I'm going to have to agree here. I know you want to play MUD like a traditional (literally colorless) deck, but I would consider going into blue for just a little more power:

There's also a draw spell specific to artifacts in blue now that acts like an instant speed divination, though I think it's too slow if we stay aggro. The aggro deck seems powerful, but I'm not convinced that keeper of the lens and bonded construct are fast enough 1-drops to keep pressure on. I do like Ensoul artifact for a bigger threat (and everyone loves it with citadel) though. The Network gives us some long game if it sticks around as well. Blue also has the option, as mentioned by the last poster, to power out some higher-cost artifacts (think scuttling doom engine and soul of new phyrexia, but we don't need to brew that here...)

Alternatively, going into red gives you a few sweet additions too...

This version gives a lot more reach, more evasion, and more interaction with our opponent. The major downside is that in order to get the thopter creators in the deck we had to give up a little bit of the early pressure.

The only thing either of these decks really gives up is Ugin's Construct, which you did say was good, but I wonder if it's truly powerful enough to keep you in colorless when the colored versions have so much more versatility.

    Hi Market Street!

I've been inactive for quite a while/lurking to look at news. Anyway, I have a set of Altered Art Argothian Enchantresses that I would like to move (either for cards I need/are liquid or for cash). I used to play legacy Enchantress, but at this point I've moved away from legacy due to the investment.

What is the best way to go about moving altered cards? I have never had to sell them before.

    Thanks!

I have actually found that Glade Watcher is a really strong SB card against the dash decks if you end up in green. One in the mainboard for the early presence is okay, but they are usually bad in G1 against other decks. However, it poses a 2 drop that their non-flying dashers cannot ignore. It's also not unreasonable to use one or two of them to close out a grindy game.

I recently made a sale of magic cards that totals well into the hundreds of dollars. The trouble is, there are approximately 50 cards in the sale. I have no experience shipping more than five or six cards at a time, so I was wondering if you guys knew the best way to ship this volume of cards.

    What is the best way?

I'm just hoping it's not with toploaders...I'm not sure I have enough just laying around, and that would require a rather large box.

    Thanks in advance!

I've been using PucaTrade for about three months now, only on common membership.

It's been good to me so far. I received a dual land I didn't need from a friend so that he could get some standard staples for an upcoming tournament...so naturally I sent that off. Over the course of a few months I've been able to put together a playset of thoughtseize and a number of EDH staples/fringe wants that were impossible to find in the small town I currently reside in. No complaints here.

EDIT: After checking my trade history I remembered my favorite thing I was able to do with Pucatrade: I received a full set (25 of each) of full-art Zendikar lands from a specific artist in about one month. Collecting is very easy on that site...

To be honest, I keep asking myself that question...but every time I put Caryatids in, I draw one instead of a counter or kill spell and that ends the game. The deck is just super focused on winning the late game, and so all of its resources go there. When it draws something relatively dead, like a Caryatid, off the top...well...I die.

I know it seems silly, because Caryatid gets you to the late game faster...but I haven't needed that so far. Just consistently drawing kill/removal/discard has done it for me. Also of note is that, unless you have no other kill spell in your hand, this deck wants to be cycling Soltai Charms constantly in the early game at the opponent's EOT. I'm not sure all of the versions of BUG feel the same way, but the permission orientation on this deck means you just want to see as many cards as possible most games.
