And somewhere up in the stands, The Mapmaker started to bore of the wait. He upped himself from the stands, and made his way out of the stadium, and not much long thereafter, out of Salvation...

...To wherever the winds took him.

Lash looked bemused, and decided to follow the green hatchling, perhaps giving the youngling a lesson in wisdom. Following the infant, the Gold moved with some headway as they travelled down the south passage.

"So, little one. How is it that an Icarii came into possession of your egg? There has not been a green in history that I have known to form such a bond with any species outside their own."

They went down further as Feenix followed the north path. She soon came to a T-junction, but did notice some torches that lined the hallway walls.

For Feenix and Jade, the place was pitch black, save the light filtering through the opening they had just found. It was very cold, as a chill rushed by both the hatchling and the Icarii. It looked like the passage went down in two directions, one heading north, and the other heading south. Either direction was too dark to see. Lash soon found his way down the ladder.

Elesor cried out to the skies, and the wind seemed to pick up. He heard the shrill screaming on the air, and prepared to be taken. instead, a heavy woosh went by his head, and he heard the whispering blow by his ear. Elesor was surprised to hear that this was in old impish dialect, this time...

    "Iiiimmm... pheeaann... aaahhh..."

The creatures spoke his language? What indeed was going on here?

"Taaaalll... naaaahhhh... duuurrr... taaaassshhh... maaaahhhhnnn... tuuuurrr... raaaahhh..."
    ["Leave... this... city... at... once..."]

The wind blew away, and as Elesor looked around for the Golox again, another woosh made by his head, and the wind talked to him again.

"Kuuuurrrr... nuuuhhhh... gaaaahhh... aaaahhhlll... leeehhh... taaahhh... Eeehhh... viiihhh... teee..."
["This... is... our... home... ours... leave..."]

The magic was tickling his senses; the magic was heavy on the air, but the creatures... not of magic? Elesor could not sense them. Elesor licked his lips at the taste of the energies, but there was something bitter, foul, acrid to the taste of it. It was unlike anything he had ever felt before. Elesor turned around to find one of the creatures standing before him, towering almost two man lengths above him. An eyeless horror stood screaming into the sky, its four lanky arms flailing about as his wings were spread in beastial glory. The face did not look at Elesor, well a warning that if his life were to have been ended, the creature would silently be screaming at him, and his soul would be lost to the insanity.

Suddenly, the door to the Solustarus burst open a hundred meters away, as the two groups of Solus Guardians split up and made headway for their destinations.

Brodi starts skipping ahead of the rest, still lost about where he was or what he was doing. Somewhere in the back of his mind, though, he felt he needed to be here, in the midst of an upcoming chaos...

    Brodi agreed, although only half-heartedly.

"Yeah, I suppose. I guess I don't want to die or anything."

Lash grabbed the handle with Feenix, and gave a mighty tug. Still, nothing opened. Lash decided to get creative. He momentarily changed into his dragon form, his bulk and mass easily 80 feet long and 1300 pounds, grabbed the handle, and tugged. surprisingly, it still did not open. Lash looked disgruntled.

"Hmmm... There must be some sort of spell keeping this thing closed. I should've easily been able to pop this hatch open. Stand back. Let me try something."

Feenix stepped away from the hatch as Lash started making hand gestures and speaking in a foreign tongue... which sounded like the ancient dragon tongue. Suddenly, a little white glow from the hatch illuminated the area, then briefly evaporated as Lash finished his spell.

    "Try opening it now."

Indeed, Feenix grabbed the handle again, gave it a tug, and it easily opened to reveal a ladder going down into a rather dark area. Lash had already reverted to his human form again.

    "Should we go in?"

The Guards turned to look at Elesor unlocking the hinge and making headway into the compromised streets. The Captain was infuriated.

    "STOP THAT ELF!!! SOMEBODY STOP--"

As several Guardians made headway for the door, a tug came at the Captain's shoulder. He turned around to meet face to face with one of the historians working the library.

"Huh? What is it young madam?"

The shy librarian that had helped Elesor and Feenix earlier bowed her head as she spoke. "Um... sir, I- I don't t-think that was an elf..."

The Captain looked strangely, and cocked his head. "What? What do you mean? What are you talking about!"

The historian shied away again as she adjusted her pair of glasses hanging off of her nose. "We-well, I've done a lot of r-research on the races of the w-world, and th-that was definiately an... um..."

"What! Out with you!" The Captain looked both intrigued and outraged.

"Well, it was an Imp, s-sir. Their ears are m-much like an elf's, but I-I noticed his eyes out of p-place. They aren't almond shaped like m-most elves, and he had a v-very strange iris. He was not an elf."

The Captain looked to the door again, where the Imp had apparently made a run for it.

"Hmm... What is an imp doing here? I suppose it doesn't matter, the Golox will probably end up getting him, now."

    ----------------

Elesor made his dash to the outside, looking up for the screaming banshees of the sky. Whatever power they wielded was beyond his own to absorb. It was almost as if... they were using a similar technique that was inherent of his species. He heard a scream as one of the Gozhuloxi swooped down and picked up a hapless passerby, a young girl this time. The scream shivered down to the bone as she wailed one last time before her death.

Before the Imp lay several possibilities of escape: West Road, which led towards the river, South Street which led back out of Solgard, but, was indeed a hell of a run, and East Boulevard, Which lead to the caves and the training grounds. A nice sign stood before him telling Elesor of the choices, but even his plan required some savvy work to get out of this alive; the creatures in the air right now were unforgiving, as he experienced earlier.

How about an Alien Design System? So people can make their own Aliens? That's really all I can think of right now. On the other hand, I've been mopping some ideas together for your "Forms" and should have a preliminary list ready (that's without prices and such, but a general list of items and ideas that can be attached to ships and whatnot.)

[OOC: Tehpincuschin... Here was the last post I wrote for you before you went wherever it was you went. To recap, you were on horseback with several Solus Guardians who were on their way to the main city, and you had been hearing voices in the air.]

Almost a half hour had passed for Drevon. He was still travelling with the five Guardians at the moment, and the Solustarus was well in view, as well the walls. As he was staring at the beautiful structure, something caught his attention again. the voices had returned.

He could hear that faint whiserping on the wind, and the chill prick to the back of the neck. One of the Guards shrugged his shoulders while the horses galloped at a steady pace, enroute to stop a message from being delivered. The Guardians had just started picking up pace and were now at a mild sprint as one of the captain's men spoke.

"Sir, I don't feel right. I'm kind of feeling nauseous all of the sudden..."

It was then that the first attack had happened. Hitting swiftly and accurately, Drevon was completely caught off guard as the sound of the wind grew from a mild blowing to a ear-piercing screech. A loud thud took place as both horse and Guardian were lifted off of the ground.

"WHAT WAS THAT!?" The Captain looked frantically around for his soldier. "WHERE'S FALKIRIS!?" One of his other soldiers shouted in response.

    "THERE!"

As they looked up, The Guardians looked in horror as a creature of utmost horror held both horse and man in the sky. It was grey, scaley on parts of his body, and leathery on others. The wings were long and boney, almost too thin for the weight it was carrying. The legs of the beast had a second set of feet, creating a webbing near the aft that stabalized the creature in flight. It had long claws on its two feet and its four arms, but the Solus Guardians did not catch a glimpse of its face. It had a thing and long body, arched even in flight, and the stench in the air was rancid. The Solus Guardian trapped by the creatures arms screamed in utmost horror.

"Solus... is that what I think it is?"

The Captain drew his Zironel Sword, and awaited for the beast's next move. That move wasn't pleasant. From almost three hundred feet in the air, the Captain saw a horse and a man fall from the sky, quickly hitting the ground shortly after about a hundred feet away. The beast started turning to meet the four remaing Guardians. Drevon made quick to get off of the horse for the time being and wait to see what unfolded.

"ATTACK THAT THING! Wait for it to get in closer before firing at it!"

One of the Solus Guardians produced a crossbow while the another had produced a short bow. They both took aim and awaited for the beast to get closer. They started to hear the wind again, and the pitch quickly began to rise as the creature got closer. The Guardian with the short bow fired pre-emptively and dropped his bow to clutch his ears. The beast easily dodged, but the Crossbow Guardian's aim was true, and he tore a whole in the creature's leathery wing. The screaming got louder as the beast careened into the Guardian clutching his ears at the moment. Drevon dodged out of the way on to the grass while the horse, the Guardian and the beast fell to the ground, the latter of the two rolling several dozen feet before coming to a stop. The Three Guardians drew their swords and quickly dismounted their horses.

"Approach that thing with caution and be careful what you do!"

The Guardians started to approach the creature while Drevon looked on, plotting whatever it is he was plotting.

Elesor looked infuriated, and the Librarian was taken aback. The Solus Guardian Captain stepped up to fill in Elesor.

"Listen! I told you what they were! They are the Golox! They are the bane of our city, and have been for over a hundred an fifty years! If you wish for your life, we shall make haste to the Training Grounds west of here. We must warn our brethren and summon our Dragonriders! I wonder if Marcus ever completed his mission...

"Our time runs short, though. We need--"

The heavy doors to the Solustarus banged again, but this time, it sounded like a knock from hands rather than a creature trying to break the doors down.

"Who is that? Let them in!"

The two Solus Guardians holding the door closed opened them ever slightly as several city peddlers plowed their way into the Solustarus, followed by two detachments of Solus Guardians. Orders were being barked as the archers fired several volleys into the air, then ducked into the safety of the Solustarus. The Captain ordered the doors closed and locked. One of the Solus Guardians that just made his way in reported to the Captain.

"Sir! They are massing for an attack, I believe! There's several Golox in the skies now, doing very minor damage, but it looks like they are waiting for something. I fear what is to come next."

The Captain lowered his head, then looked to Elesor.

"Do you see what we are dealing with, here? Your answers lie out there, if you so choose to brave it alone. Otherwise, I suggest you say here with the others for safety's sake, while we warn the Secretoria and the Solutar. Men! Form up!"

The Solus Guardians fell into line, which came to thirteen fully clad warriors.

"We need to find out the status of the Solutar and Secretoria. It is possible they are in danger right now, and we should escort them to the Caves. Otherwise, it's going to be a mad dash to the Training Grounds to rally the Dragonriders and the rest of our troops. I'm going to make haste to the Training Grounds, and I want six of you to form group and head to the Solutar's office. Who's going with me?"

    =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Feenix looked at the piece of metal, and found it to be quite an interesting find... It was a handle! She started to push the dirt off and revealed a door buried underneath the earth. She tried pulling at it, but found it to be stuck. Lash soon arrived.

"Looks like your having some trouble, there. Need some help?"

    CURRENT LOCATION: Gordeo

    Hometown: Solgard

    Name: Marcus Androsus

    Race: Human

    Sex: Male

    Age: 29

Appearance: Marcus stands about 6' 1", with short and messy brown hair, blue eyes, and a weathered face. He has a dark stubble from cheek to cheek, and wears a full goatee mustache. He is well built, and somewhat thin, only at 160 lbs.

Apparel: Marcus Androsus is garbed in the Solus Guardian's uniform, with a dragon mark on his left breast. His status is obviously that of a Dragonrider, as he wears dark clothing beneath his half-Scalemail. The armor covers his shoulders, chest and forearms, and a very light chainmail dressing is worn beneath that. He wears light greaves, which plates his feet, shins and fore thighs.

Background: Hailing from Solgard, Marcus was on Dragonback when something attacked him and his mount from the rear. The dragon did all it could to land safely, but the forest took its life. In the dragon's last dying act, he saved Marcus from certain death.

Personality: Marcus has been striving for a captain's rank many a years, but his superiors have always kept him at the lowest possible rank as a Dragonrider. This has made him somewhat bitter over the years, as it took him hard work and a lot of punishment to get to the status he is at today. After this incident, he will be shamed when and if he returns to Solgard. Marcus' steed is also his partner for his term of service, which is often for life as a Dragonrider. Battered and beaten, he wanders through the dense foliage of Gordeo's rainforests.

    Weapons:
Dragonshield - This diamond-shaped long shield offers a medium amount of protection to the Dragon rider, made of tough Zironel (A Zinc, Iron and Steel Combination created by master forgers of Solgard), light enough to keep a Dragonrider unhindered while using his Pilese, A throwing spear which vaguely resembles an oversized arrow. The shield is pointy enough at the edges to be used to defend from possible attacks.

    Skills/Abilites:
Mounted Weapons Proficiency - Marcus has been trained to use Swords and throwing weapons while mounted on both land- and airborne-steeds.

    Money: 20 Sals
